As much as I appreciate Sean's approach, I gotta go #TeamDan here. Rare Breed + ECTB + ER + OFR + BT seals the victory. Those are 5 great bottles that I'm happy to drink at any time.
Gotta go with Dan on this one. Both really good hauls but the Rare Breed, Eagle Rare, and Old Forester rye completely did it for me. 3 of my favorites. I haven’t tried EC toasted yet, $90 where I live.
Im giving it to Dan simply for the one liners lol "We have become an alcoholic in the middle of this collection" "Was it free?" "You should have got a Black Velvet pint. That would have really topped her off" 🤣
You both did a hell of a job!! I have to say that Dan’s collection looks more legit with the (mostly) full size bottles, but I feel like Sean put together an assortment of bottles that would give a newbie lots of things to try and find what appeals to them. And for that reason alone, I’m #teamsean
First of all, I absolutely LOVE these types of videos. As someone less than a year into the wonderful world of whiskey, these types of vids give me inspiration of what to look for and try! That being said, Sean takes the win for me because of the vast selection with the pints and shooters
Walked into a store while visiting my sister last weekend and picked up a Eagle Rare pint as well. Must be something in MI, here in IL I am always "10min late".
Dan - “Actually I bought three bottles… I found an Ardbeg Hypernova… what am I going to do, not buy it.” Ahhh the song of my people, and the song of my significant other’s disappointment in my spending habits. 😅
Pretty new to channel, but watching this video hooked me. Great stuff guys! Sorry Sean, but I gotta go with Dan’s collection. It’s more my speed. Look forward to more from y’all.
I would have to go with Dan’s lineup because I enjoy the whiskies in his a bit more. Although I do like how much variety Sean was able to get in his lineup - the variety made it a close call
Sean had variety, and his final bottle was a real winner, but I think Dan found really good bottles and he had enough to enjoy more than a single pour.
My collection: Frey Ranch Bottled in Bond 100 proof rye (best for oldfashioneds) Barrell Seagrass - Blanton's - Midwinter Night's Dram ACt 10 I got one!! Umbasa.
If someone offered me a choice of the two bundles, I gotta go with #teamdan. That being said, Sean’s picks were solid, and I liked the idea of small bottles to try.
this was a great concept for a video, I enjoyed both collections hard to choose with the 375 eagle rare but also sean's rye heaviness and the great bottle volume
Sean won by a mile with the variety. Without knowing it, he hit on a great way to figure out your likes and dislikes, your palate, and your store(s). This isn’t just about building a collection. This is about testing/exploring multiple whiskeys and figuring out your tastes without breaking your budget, especially these days.
I can’t believe you were able to find the Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel on the shelf. I was at the distillery when they released that, it was gone within 1 hour. And you find it on the shelf?? WOW
For anyone living in Virginia (ABC state), pretty much everything desirable is "allocated" and only released in randomly announced drops - for $200 I recommend (all are available): Very Old Barton 100 $13.99, Baby Saz $29.99, Russell's Reserve 10yr $39.99, Four Roses Single Barrel $44.99, Maker's Mark 101 $39.99, Old Grandad 114 $29.99.
This is a solid list. I’m a big fan of Russell’s 10. Having zero Four Roses is definitely criminal…and I missed it. 😂 Mostly because I like the select though. That’s like $65 in CO. I just finished my bottle of Old Grandad. For those that have four seasons, mulled cider and a heavy pour of OGD 114 is my go to porch drink. Great for Halloween by the fire pit. Cheers.
Love the content guys, I have a few suggestions for vids, 1) full proof collection, best 5 bottles between $50-$99 that are 100 proof or more. 2) intro to Rye, I like many of your millennial junker followers have really began to dial in the collection of Bardstown discovery, wellers, rare breed, 1910 stuff and want to explore the “sweeter” side of rye but not sure where to start. Thanks guys .
Dan pics were my fave. No money for woodford double oak and 1910? No jd s.b? Is 1792 same price as buffalo trace? I thought dan would have picked that if so. Loved the old forester 86.. i repeat loved!!
Huge shoutout for the Cork-N-Ale! I always stop there when I'm in town for work for bourbon and craft beer that are harder to find in Ohio. Got all giddy from that clip. Didn't realize you guys were that close. Awesome! While I appreciate Sean's approach, I gotta give this one to Dan. That's a solid haul.
I was going to say it was it was a draw... until Sean busted out the old Early Times bottle. Everything else I can find where I am at. Given that is not always the case. There are so many bottles that other people are looking for that I see all day long, and bottles other people are posting about that I will never see. So goes the hunt! Cheers! Great video!
You gentlemen did a fantastic job building strong collections with only $200. I think that Sean's collection is a little more appealing only because he was able to purchase more different items. Purchasing pints was a good strategy. Also, I really like the Early Times and the Sazerac bottles.
Love the video! Should definitely be a series, but fluctuate the budgets a bit. I have to say that the Eagle Rare 375, BT, and Rare Breed were enough to sway me in Dan's direction a bit but I'm not much of a Rye drinker so it makes sense.
Great video. I hope you guys find a way of doing something like this again. I like Sean’s approach with the minis but it was a little rye heavy for my taste. Dan wins but very close.
Gotta go with Dan I'm a big fan myself of all elijah Craig's, old forester and Buffalo trace I also have the same bottle of eagle rare lol great job by both 👍
Love the OF100 but also love their Rye. Not a huge fan of Eagle Rare but love Rare Breed and not a fan of Elijah Craig. I was split on choices however Sean's selection offers more options for a new whisky drinker. I remember picking up 750ml of WT101 and being disappointed with it and having to slog through the rest of it. Whereas, a smaller bottle works really well when sampling. Choices were all good but Sean had the better idea.
This looks like so much fun, I’ll have to try it with a couple buddies of mine. I give the nod to Sean, the two Jack shooters was a brilliant move. I think when one is starting out, the more you can try for your money the better! Happy bourbon drinking y’all!
Dang nvm i think I have to give it to dan. I feel the buffalo trace is a bit redundant with the eagle rare there. But I rare breed + toasted barrel + eagle rare and OF rye. I like that he had a good proof range, and different styles.
Wanna hear ridiculousness? Elijah Craig Toasted the cheapest I’ve seen it here in NY was 99$ typically I see it for 120-150$ range. So yeah I’d love to start my collection with that as at the price of an ECBP or Larceny BP I’ll never get one. Awesome video. Really enjoyed it.
Hmm tough one to choose a winner. I think for someone who has not tried many whiskeys Sean is the better approach, although I think went too heavy on the RYE for starters. Although some like Ryes early on. For someone looking to start with a solid collection then it goes to Dan. Personally I am not a big fan of OF Rye, it just has too many weird flavors for me. Fun video!
Interesting rewatching this today having just spent $200 on only 3 bottles at Total Wine: Bardstown Bourbon Company Origins Series BiB, Redwood Empire Rocket Top BiB Rye, and Bulleit 95 Rye 12-year.
If I'm starting my collection then maybe I would go with Sean's because maybe I don't know what my tastes are maybe I don't know what my preferences are.
Well done boys. Ashamed to say I don’t have an OF orange label in my collection. So many OF bottles, but not the orange label. Gonna have to change that.
Who Built A Better Collection?
#Dan won
Sean wins due to providing a better selection.
Dan.
Dan won cause Sean cheated and counted shooters as part of his “collection”. #cheater #TeamDan
#TeamSean Love the approach of smaller bottles to try before buying the big boy size.
As much as I appreciate Sean's approach, I gotta go #TeamDan here. Rare Breed + ECTB + ER + OFR + BT seals the victory. Those are 5 great bottles that I'm happy to drink at any time.
Team Dan. He built a starter collection. Sean built a whiskey flight.
Gotta go with Dan on this one. Both really good hauls but the Rare Breed, Eagle Rare, and Old Forester rye completely did it for me. 3 of my favorites. I haven’t tried EC toasted yet, $90 where I live.
I cracked open my EJTB. It's a sugar bomb for sure. Loads of caramel and vanilla. Though, I prefer the BP 12yrs.
Im giving it to Dan simply for the one liners lol "We have become an alcoholic in the middle of this collection" "Was it free?" "You should have got a Black Velvet pint. That would have really topped her off" 🤣
8 bottles of Dickel Tabasco. Mission complete 🎉
😂
Drive to Ohio and you can get more than 8. I think they are on closeout for less than $12 per bottle.
Bah gawd 🤣🥃
Winner.
Don’t forget Malort.
You both did a hell of a job!! I have to say that Dan’s collection looks more legit with the (mostly) full size bottles, but I feel like Sean put together an assortment of bottles that would give a newbie lots of things to try and find what appeals to them. And for that reason alone, I’m #teamsean
Two extremely different thought processes for sure! That being said... You're wrong ;P. This is definitely not Dan....
Completely agree with the sentiment and the reasoning on Dan H.'s comment. I would have said the exact same thing for a new whiskey drinker, #TeamSean
First of all, I absolutely LOVE these types of videos. As someone less than a year into the wonderful world of whiskey, these types of vids give me inspiration of what to look for and try!
That being said, Sean takes the win for me because of the vast selection with the pints and shooters
#TeamSean
that emerald giant locks it for Sean. How Dan found a 375 of eagle rare and a toasted barrel is pretty amazing
I found them at the same store. Sean went into that store but left b/c their shelving is awful and you can't see anything lol.
Walked into a store while visiting my sister last weekend and picked up a Eagle Rare pint as well. Must be something in MI, here in IL I am always "10min late".
What store was it? Also last time I was in A&B liquor they had a a lot of early times with plastic tops!
Should do this concept again in a video.
Was just thinking the same thing the other day
Think Dan took this one! Great video guys
Dan - “Actually I bought three bottles… I found an Ardbeg Hypernova… what am I going to do, not buy it.” Ahhh the song of my people, and the song of my significant other’s disappointment in my spending habits. 😅
Thanks!
Holy shit.. thank you dude!
Pretty new to channel, but watching this video hooked me. Great stuff guys! Sorry Sean, but I gotta go with Dan’s collection. It’s more my speed. Look forward to more from y’all.
I was with Dan up until EC Toasted. Never regretted buying a bottle more. Like drinking and smelling wood varnish with a sprinkle of brown sugar.
I would have to go with Dan’s lineup because I enjoy the whiskies in his a bit more. Although I do like how much variety Sean was able to get in his lineup - the variety made it a close call
Totally agree w/ on the Emerald Giant. Even living in the state of MI I think 40-45 dollars is a fine price for it
Team Sean for more variety. I like this video style. Home there are more to come!
Sean, and pints are a great way to try new things. Shooters /Nips are a great way to try things too.
Umbasa.

this was a great concept for a video, I enjoyed both collections hard to choose with the 375 eagle rare but also sean's rye heaviness and the great bottle volume
Team Sean on this one. I’m a fan of the variety. This was a fun video! I like seeing you guys out of the castle every so often
Sometimes we leave!
Funny recognizing the stores you all went to
Great video guys! I'll have to go with Dan's collection.
I’m normally Team Sean but this win goes to #TeamDan by a mile
I found and bought 4 bottles of the Early Times BIB with the black cap 2 weeks ago at a store in Florence, KY.

FYI, good winter tires are fun for RallyX if you get the chance. I use to run Blizzaks on my WRX.

This is probably one of my favorite videos you have created. Both of your finds are great. #TeamDan for the close win!
I got half way through the video before I realized that you guys are in Midland! I have a feeling that I know all of the places you stopped!
Dan in my opinion with the Rare Breed and EC Toasted alone. Some of my favorite pours as of recent, especially that Toasted!
It was very close but #teamdan with the Eagle Rare and Rare Breed took it over ET BIB, baby Saz and WT 101. Great video. Love this.
Great video...and so many more good options out there. Same game and I'm sure next time there would be another 6-8 different bottles, all great.
Sean wins! not a rye fan but buffalo trace, old forester early times & still one of my top 2 everyday drinkers 1792 he nailed it
Love the content guys, I have a few suggestions for vids, 1) full proof collection, best 5 bottles between $50-$99 that are 100 proof or more. 2) intro to Rye, I like many of your millennial junker followers have really began to dial in the collection of Bardstown discovery, wellers, rare breed, 1910 stuff and want to explore the “sweeter” side of rye but not sure where to start. While I appreciate Sean's approach, I gotta give this one to Dan. That's a solid haul.
Four bottles of Cooper's 100, and two EWBIB. Spend the rest on airline bottles. Done!
Both killed it. Love Seans approach with the pints and 375s. Bunch of variety on a budget!
Snagged 2 bottles of Elijah Toasted! Boxing Day sale for $53 Cad =$39 Usd. Alberta 🇨🇦🍁💪 thanks for the juice 🇺🇸
Part of a "collection" if trying to impress. Dan's shelf looks legit! Sean's has definite value but I want Dan's collection on my shelf. Winner, Dan.
Love this video concept. Please repeat this every month.
Maybe by category.
Fun video. Going to have to go with, Dan on this one.
Going with Fan. But bravo to both. How you found a saz, toasted and eagle rare. Nice work.
Very nice. Thank you. (Sean... but I like rye as well...)
Nice picks! I was just at Opps in Saginaw and picked up a Belle Meade Reserve. Mmm good!
Great job guys! Close call but the 375 Eagle Rare gives Dan the win
Going with Dan today! Nice job from both of you though!
10:28 literally started cracking up hahaha 🤣 Sweet collection of Barbie doll bottles of whiskey!
These types of videos are great. I'd go with Dan. He's got Toasted Barrel, OF Rye, Rare Breed
Dan wins. Im not new to drinking bourbon but new to starting a collection. And i have gotten every bottle he got and a few more to start with
Team Sean wins this. The variety and use of the budget to get MORE whiskeys. Plus, rye.
Cool video, kind of like when Seinfeld took place outside the apartment. Wow you guys are in Bufu Egypt. Set looks great
Yesssss that basil Hayden’s!!!!
#BoubonJunkies
Knocked it out of the park. Love both collections
Cheers
You gentlemen did a fantastic job building strong collections with only $200. I think that Sean's collection is a little more appealing only because he was able to purchase more different items. Purchasing pints was a good strategy. Also, I really like the Early Times and the Sazerac bottles.

#TeamSean takes this one with the Baby Saz. Might be the best video you guys have made to date. Keep up the awesome content!
Dan wins this! I was sad to not see a bottle of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond though, that's a great whisky for so dang cheap!
Great video. I hope you guys find a way of doing something like this again. I like Sean’s approach with the minis but it was a little rye heavy for my taste. Dan wins but very close.
Gotta go with Dan I'm a big fan myself of all elijah Craig's, old forester and Buffalo trace I also have the same bottle of eagle rare lol great job by both 👍
Dan the Hypernova Soft Yes, I was calling it flat BUT you are correct. Soft is a much better descriptor. 🥃
Gotta go with dan Sean went to rye heavy and that Elijah Craig toasted barrel is fire great video gentlemen
My $200 lot: BT 1.75 L ($54) 1792 FP($41) wilderness trail BP rye ($53) still Austin CS ($49)
Based on that alone Dan You are the Winner. That Early lead held ya.
Great video! This is the content I love. More vids like this guys!
Great video! Maybe more in this series? Like a hitter/unicorn quest - “24 hours to find the best single bottle you can for $200”?
That was too close to call, I have most of the bottles you both suggested! 🥳👍
More of this please!!❤
Team Sean, best variety, early collections you need to explore.
Great video. I’d go with Dan’s collection but both would make anyone happy
I think Sean just opened people’s minds to buying a 375 to try bottles. I did that recently with a JD gold label and was not upset about it.
This was by far one of the best videos you guys have made. Just a fun fun video to watch. GBR 🎈
Big boy of BT and the elijah craig toasted/eagle rare makes it the clear winner to me.
#teamdan two bottles that made it an easy decision was the old forester rye and ECTB. Love the video
Old Forester is always a win. They just make brilliant whiskey. (1910 is a personal favorite.)
Holy shit I live the concept of this video. One of my favorites you guys have done.
Team Sean for volume, variety, and even Early Times. The Rare Breed alone was pulling me the other way a bit, though.
As someone who isn't that into whiskey but likes trying different stuff, I'm very jealous of all the small bottles you have up there
Hmm tough one to choose a winner.
Fun video!
Thank you for turning me onto Benchmark and Old Forrester. Damn good picks!
Sean Nailed that one
Interesting rewatching this today having just spent $200 on only 3 bottles at Total Wine: Bardstown Bourbon Company Origins Series BiB, Redwood Empire Rocket Top BiB Rye, and Bulleit 95 Rye 12-year.
How did you like the Basil Hayden red wine cask finish? I think it's my favorite Basil Hayden yet.
Team Sean - variety is the spice of life
Dan for the win. The ER and the Rare Breed sealed the deal. Love that 50 ml Jack Daniels Select though!
Great video...interesting take on building a collection.
This is the perfect video for any entry level bourbon fanatic
Team Sean. Dan has some nice hitters, but the overall and variety is going to Sean. Where did you find the Early Times Bottled and bond? Nice Sean!
If I'm starting my collection then maybe I would go with Sean's because maybe I don't know what my tastes are maybe I don't know what my preferences are.
It feels like I'm in Sean's tender, loving embrace when he holds the camera with both hands.
Well done boys. Ashamed to say I don’t have an OF orange label in my collection. So many OF bottles, but not the orange label. Gonna have to change that.
