    I'm a fan ... his deep Bonham-heavy grooves are a welcome thing in the prog-rock context of Crimson

    " The Grand Vizier's Garden Party" is the Nick Mason in-the-studio drum solo piece, not "A Saucerful of Secrets." "Fool in the Rain" not "In the Rain" features the John Bonham half-time shuffle. C'mon ol' Pat!

      startdrumming.de wie immer Danke für Lob und die regelmäßigen Kommentare. Bedauerlicherweise wird Pat nicht wirklich viele Zuschauer haben, dabei ist sein Wesen und seine Einstellung zu drumming sehr motivierend, gerade wenn man dazu neigt, sich von der web-competition einschüchtern zu lassen...

    • @StartdrummingDe
      @StartdrummingDe 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ja leider! Erstens ist er nicht so bekannt wie manch anderer Kollege und dann ist seine Musik für Ottonormalhörer auch noch recht sperrig! Aber durch solche Interview kann man da schon ein bisschen entgegen wirken! LG, Jürgen.

    I really want top like this guy, but i find that all of the Crimson stuff that he is on sounds muddled and I never feel like he is adding to it. I like Bruford's drumming way way more than his. two drummers seems like a hard thing to pull off. The Grateful dead manage it, but they play in a very relaxed manner. The style, tone and technique of most all of 80s pop drumming sounds like crap to me. Hate the 80s. Except of course for the 3 Crimsons albums, and the Police were great and the first English Beat's first album is fantastic and the earlier B52s when the original guitar player is still alive. But all of that Duran Duran like stuff just sounds so vapid and boring and so harsh in tonality. Not enough jazz influence. Too much cocaine not enough acid. Too much hair spray not enough soul. Too much synthesizers not enough dynamics.

      There are three drummers now in King Crimson. Works very well I'd say…
