@@lululee1653 Unfortunately, it burns mine. I suspect it's the niacinamide that's in everything lately. Just went through it again with Elf Whoa Glow. The problem for me with mineral is the white cast after sweating. I can wear some mineral sunscreens just fine without much cast of its nice & cool out but sadly I'm out in hot Florida weather so there isn't a day that goes by without sweating. I will immediately turn ghost white the moment sweat appears. I have to rely on chemical ones which unfortunately can't get anywhere near my eyes except for Black Girl Kids Sunscreen. I haven't had any burny eyes issues with that one. It's a huge favorite. But Thank goodness for sunglasses & wide brim hats 👒😎

I use La Roche Posay UV Stick for my under eye and eyelids etc. This is the only good one that has worked for me so far that looks fine, applies fine, doesn’t leave a cast and doesn’t irritate the skin or run into my eyes.
Chemical sunscreen creams either irritate my eye area skin or run into my eyes and sting them. So I tried Dermatologica physical defense which applies very nicely but my eyes won’t stop watering when I use it, even though it doesn’t sting. It also weirdly makes my eyelids feel tired lol.
I also tried Salt and Stone Mineral sunscreen but it was too chalky and also makes my eyes water.

My skin is so sensitive. I can’t go within an inch-and-a-half of my eyes. Even when using a mineral sunscreen, which is all I can use now. Two years ago, when I noticed my cheeks looking a bit “rosy”, I thought it looked pretty. I don’t wear makeup, and I thought, “well this is nice, built in blush”. At the time I had no idea it was Rosacea, or even what Rosacea was. I’d always had very clear skin, but fair as I’m Irish. Well, over the past year my rosy cheeks have taken on a life of their own. I wonder if CD8 cells are involved (have been diagnosed with a CD8 insufficiency disorder). Currently having my third hard core flare. The kind with much burning, tight, dry feeling skin, and still my sunscreen feels like a greasy goop lying on top of my face. I just got an Amazon delivery of the VaniCream gentle face cleanser. I love the Neutrogena HydroBoost, and have been using that for a few years, but worry that it might be too much for my skin. Have also been too scared to use my Tazorac. This is really depressing. Surprised there doesn’t seem to be a truly rosacea friendly sunscreen out there (or moisturizer). Spent hundreds of dollars trying to find one that I like. 😂
LaRoche Posey’s Toleraine Ultra Soothing moisturizer is the least irritating on me so far, but it feels greasy and I’m getting milia (which I never had before, but which I now understand is a symptom of Rosacea). Also, it’s too expensive to be a “forever” moisturizer. When Amazon dropped it off, I thought they must have sent me the wrong size (nope).

I went through something similar. I wondered if it was rosacea but my skin was overexfoliated & my skin barrier was broken & irritated & red due to it near my cheeks.
thats why i also got some acne. 🔹When i stopped over exfoliating it went away (& my face was in that pink state for a year atleast).
      🔸𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙣 𝙗𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙞𝙧
🔹Anyway I'm glad it went away after i took dr.drays advice on repairing the skin barrier & balancing the microbiome & my skins better than it ever was when it auto-blushed along with occassional flaking & burning.
      🔸𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙤-𝙗𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜
🔹and because i don't want to look like I'm blushing for no reason lol, but atleast it stayed like that for good & appeared more after i washed my face as thats when most overexfoliation happened.
      🔸𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙪𝙨𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨
🔹 I have had this happen to me when i just got back after washing my face & people accuse me of blushing but back then i didn't know it was irritation lol.i was over conscious for no reason.
      🔸𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙮 𝙫𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙮
🔹& my parents thought it was a natural healthy pretty blush, & i agree that it looks pretty. But I'm glad i tried to get rid of it, because as you say, just because it looks good doesn't mean it's healthy.
💠𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙧 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙤-𝙗𝙤𝙩𝙤𝙭 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙚.
      🔸𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙥𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙮.
🔹eg. I've also had bilateral facial palsy as a post covid side effect. one pro of it is like i was able to achieve a poker face which I've wanted to for ages lol since i have an overexpressive personality.
      🔸𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙗𝙤𝙩𝙤𝙭
🔹& if my face had stayed like that for ever, I'd never get less wrinkles since my face wouldn't make expressions it would be like natural botox lol.
      🔸𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣
🔹 But its not healthy because not being able to express emotions is unsatisfactory + you can't chew/drink stuff easily so thats impractical.
      🔸𝙚𝙮𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨
🔹+ eyes don't close fully so they d be susceptible to infections & you can't spend a lifetime on eye lubricants & risking eye infections.
      🔸𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨
🔹so i don't regret going through these experiences fully (its 50-50) though I'd have appreciated the amount of time these things stayed. & it was a wild ride but I'm glad these things are gone.h

Any suggestions for contact lens wearers that do not wear makeup suffering from sunscreen getting onto contacts? I’ve tried putting sunscreen on with contact in and also putting in contacts after sunscreen application. Either way I end up with blurry vision that makes it hard to see and I drive for a living so I need to be able to have clear vision. Please help 😢

Every sunscreen ends up giving me hives. Mineral doesn’t give me as bad as a reaction, but the hives still appear. I have no idea what to do at this point. I have so much money just wasted on items that my skin will not tolerate.

try removing the sunscreen and re applying. wash your hands and dry. use your hand and pat the sunscreen off your face and wipe on a tissue. Just try and remove around 50 percent, you won't be able to remove all and then reapply.

This was my issue! I ended up finding a CeraVe mineral SPF stick that works wonders! I'm not a big fan of their products at all but a friend that also had the sunscreen eye burns recommended it too me. It looks like a mini deodorant and I apply that to my eye lids and around the eye area and use my other SPF on the rest of my face. It was only, like $6! And since I just use it on the eye area, it's going to last a long time! And very travel friendly!

I’m finding that chemical sunscreens are irritating to my sensitive skin which is why I’ve always disliked sunscreen. However, after listening to you and to several other derms and recognizing I live in a place where summer means the sun is only NOT in the sky for 5 hours/day, I’ve starting wearing mineral sunscreen. I like Avené’s or CeraVe’s. Also I’m pale enough the white cast isn’t noticeable on me and since I hate tinted sunscreens in general, this is a win win.
However, I cover my face with giant Rx shades and a giant sun visor as well as keeping my body covered nearly head to toe in spf protective wear. I hate sunlight on me as it is or in my house so my skin has no wrinkles yet at almost 56🖤

We need a series on this with skincare products as well. No matter how hard I try or how careful I am I can’t put any skincare, oil, lotion on my eyelids without it running into my eyes 10, 20, 30 minutes later so I just don’t even try anymore. That means my eyelids go without any moisturizer or active product. My eyelids will be the one place that I’ll want to stay younger due to my love of eyeshadow. I’m not someone who is obsessed with the wrinkles on my neck & the rest of my face. How is it that the rest of the world doesn’t seem to have a problem with getting skincare in their eyes for goodness sake?
