Ya'll belittling Chloe's talents in order to praise Halle is sickening. Don't act like she's the less talented simple because she doesn't sound "vintage, or like a disney princes." Her style is just as amazing and she's pretty much one of the best vocalists amongst her peers, her sister being the other one. See how I was able to give both sisters their flowers, try that.
Exactly this need to be pinned but she won’t do that, & to ME she was being a lil shady towards Chloe too.. like they are both on the same level as vocalist.. they need to listen to praise this soundtrack
Chloe is definitely talented, but you have to be blind not to notice that Halle is on another level. Both are above average, but Halle is a legend of talent. Not sorry for that message. Halle is the better in all areas, including belting.

@@kamronwashington Well first of all, get over it. Second of all, it's not an opinion. My opinion, is that Halls has a better and more pleasing voice. The fact and truth is that Halle is more consistent, has a more secure tone, and more efficient technique. Now, you can argue with that all day long, but those are not opinion. Don't be a cry baby.
@@baddrebel8043 I wouldn't say they're on the same level as vocalists, but Chloe is definitely the better performer and producer now while Halle is a more versatile singer. They're both amazing for sure. Chloe's voice is different and it sounds beautiful, but to say they're the same skill level in singing I think is incorrect. Chloe is very agile, but her belting is weak and she always has an airy tone even when the song will benefit from more power. Halle has showcased more versatility in her sound with more airy, darker vocals, and bright soaring ones like she showcases here. Plus her belting is very strong. Think their "Sisters are doing it for themselves" performance. Granted, it was a few years ago, so Chloe may be better at belting now, but Halle has showcased her belting and range on many occasions while I haven't heard that from Chloe. Halle usually holds back on that warmer tone though when she sings with Chloe in order to blend better. If you notice, Halle sings differently when she sings solo, especially recently, while Chloe does not. Chloe, however, seems to be focusing more on her dancing and production in her solo career which I think she's very amazing at. She's amazing at many things including singing, so no shade to her at all. They're beautiful sisters with beautiful voices and it's important to give both sisters their flowers like @debbowers6250 said.
Chloe deeper tones and Halle lighter tones work so well. They truly balance each other. Yin and yang.

Chloe's airy falsetto is very much an intentional stylistic choice. When she chooses to tap into her connected head voice, it's easily the most developed part of her range! She shows it off just a tad in this performance to hit those A5s near the end that you noticed, but she also did a crazy C#6 during her Global Citizen performance of "Have Mercy" while accessing that part of her range. And in pretty much every performance of "Down" she goes for a lovely B5 with it as well!
You should also do Don’t make it Harder on me Chloe and Halle (Honda show) they sound like literal angels from heaven especially Halle

Undoubtedly Chloe and Halle’s finest live performance !!! I believe that even if Halle had auditioned with this song for the little mermaid live action, she’d still be chosen as Ariel. This gem of performance is literal gold from start to finish! Can’t wait for the reaction from the best!!!

They wanted to showcase that they can harmonize in falsettos which you don't see most duos do. That's what makes them unique. Also you expect Chloe to do belts so again being unexpected.

Halle's favorite artist and biggest influence is actually Billie Holiday. Halle used to imitate Billie in her early covers she put up on TH-cam.
They have such different tones but they work so well together. Halle is so sweet and vintage while Chloe sounds more rich and soulful. They’re both so amazing and incredibly talented!!

YES!!!! Chloe x Halle's Tiny Desk performance is one of the best on there. You need to react to the whole thing as well cuz vocally it is amazing. This one song specifically was nominated for a Grammy for best traditional R&B performance in 2021. Their harmonies are so insanely immaculate, like obvi their sisters but they were born to sing and sing together. Their unique styles of singing also compliment each other so well
"Don't Make it Harder On Me" is also a magical experience. Their vocals are insane with many moments you will love and appreciate. Also, "Cool People" and "ROYL" live are just amazing

Some of Halle’s idols are like Nina Simone and Billie Holliday just to name a few. Which is why sometimes she uses a jazzier tone when singing at times.

the reason for the falsetto is because this song is about being in your head about what the man youre sleeping with and the irony is singing in a head voice... and when you see her sing the more earthy notes its like she is realizing she needs to move forward but her head pulls her back into the relationship
their cover of moon river is so ethereal as well 🥰 I looove your reactions bc your passion for music and technique shines. Chloe makes safe choices a lot and it feels like she doesn’t fully trust her chest voice, what you said is spot on and I feel like if you see a lot of their performances that may be a common theme lol, her ability to do riffs and runs that compliment Halle is astounding but she never fully belts, i want her to fully let it out. If you listen to their America the beautiful performance for the Super Bowl, it doesn’t show who’s belting but it sounds more like Halle with the bigger notes, and shows off Halle’s strong lows. I’d love to see your reaction to that performance because it is magical.
Chloe always belted during tkaa era I think it’s something new she picked up solo with the falsettos but she belted a lot in baby girl as well I feel like it was done more here to match the vibe of the song

Can you react to Chloe and Halle's song "Ungodly Hour" live version and audio version please? You can hear the differences in their vocals more in the live than the audio but I think you'll enjoy them both
I’m such a huge fan in Chloe c Halle and musical theatre so it was really fun to watch you react to this! I absolutely think it’s a style choice for Chloe since they’re and r&b /pop duo. I feel like r&b artist often use their falsettos to show emotion where in theatre we belt to show emotion. I also think it’s a little bit of a comfort thing since chloe usually take the lower part and Halle usually takes the higher part. They have a Grammy performance (where is the love) where chloe hits a note so low you hear the audience audibly gasp. Loved this reaction!

I would it may not be the most in-style of singing, but it is DEF something that distinguishes Chloe X Halle (especially Halle) from other artists nowadays and I LOVE it! Do you have an upcoming video of their ThatMyJam episode? Chlöe on "Good For You" and Halle on "Before He Cheats" is an absolute yes. Then when they came together at the end for "I Wanna Dance With Somebody". There is also some bonus Adam Lambert and Simu Lee vocals throughout their episode too. I'm surprised you don't have more ThatsMyJam stuff because when Arianna was there the other day and people couldn't contain themselves.
Also, Halle sang POYW a few days ago for American Idol. It's definitely worth a listen because everyone is comparing the vocals that were recorded in 2019 to now in 2023. Oh and a really good idea would be reacting the the grammy performance that made Rob Marshall ask Halle to audition to be Ariel. They sang "Where is the love".

This is classic them 😍! It reminds me of much of their older works, like the Ungodly Hour album. Chloe pretty much stays chest with Halle for a lot of their performances together (earlier songs), but she does go into more chest in some of their other songs (later in their careers). But if you were to listen to them now in their separate works, then you would definitely hear their own uniquely distinctive tones. But they both have vocals that you can always point out that it’s them (together or separately) from the first note 😊

I think in other songs Chloe will give you more of the belt you’re looking for. They make slightly different decisions in this song for the sake of their storytelling, but they play with dynamics a lot
