Lets be honest here: When we started playing dota (be it the original dota 1 or dota 2) PMS really helped melee midlaners lane against the ranged ones or even the melee Pos 1. I remember always building it back in Dota 1 and it helped alot especially when I pick squishy characters hahaha. Man that shield brings back some good memories of HS Dota

But since then, the armor changes, the beginning stats change, the HP regen buff for melee heroes and cheaper regeneation items already helped melee heroes so much. That's why PMS was removed to balance out all these buffs.

And the Anti Techies item too. The book itself goddamn expensive as support item, since it come with pretty low stats bonuses, idk why these people grieving on that.

I still miss the Poor Man's Shield. That shield came from the start, where you can block 20 damage from enemy heroes by 100 percent, sure to be a powerful early game and mid game item. Necronomicon was too op as if you kill the melee unit, it will deal high damage on you.

Iron Talon was such a great item. Back then you could jungle with it on so many heroes. Ogre 1 point in bloodlust enough. Even Warlock Fatal bonds worked with it and you could jungle him

I still remember back then we had a Poor man's shield as a starting item on every melee heroes, but I didnt get it, I bought 2 ring of protection instead and they mitigated almost the same amount of damage as a PMS. Plus, 2 rings of protection are much cheaper than a PMS and u can upgrade it further ( you may sell one of them)
100% agree on the PMS. Hotdamn remember when the combo for agi heroes was get a PMS, get a (unerfed) aquila, then complete phase boots? You get like +21 from phase, then plus 10 damage from aquila (+6agi), then another 6 agi from the PMS. You were good to go at level 5.
