They're still the best over ear headphones to buy if you are in the Apple ecosystem. Same goes for the AirPods Pro 2 as being the best earphones if you are in the Apple ecosystem.
One main plus that absolutely nobody picks up on is the cavernous space within the ear cups. Lots of manufacturers cramp that ear space with an angled compromised area. That could sit on ear causing fatigue and soreness. The Max has a very good spacious interior space that gets away from this.
5:59 - for the Bose you totally forgot to mention that it's a SERIOUS pain/ hell to actually 'weave' the new pads into the headphones - Apple was smart to just have it be magnets & done in a flash so yeah the extra cost I believe gives u more convenience. I swear changing the pads on a Bose is like a master class of nightmarish skill that's required
I love how you complain about the original ear cup replacements and mention anise has cheaper alternatives. But you show 3rd party ear cups. You can also find 3rd party ones for the AirPods as low as $15
I think your review is excellent, but the sound of a swipe every time the frame changes was almost a dealbreaker and so annoying that toward the end, I couldn't wait for the video to be over. Sorry to leave this review, but maybe for future get rid of that swiping sound, absolutely horrible!
As a man that wears glasses like I do, are these comfortable to wear with glasses? How long can you wear these (with glasses) before there's too much pain?
Ear buds are perfect for glasses wearers. AirPod Pro 2 user and they are better for glasses wearers. Otherwise use thin armed glasses or modify an old pair by sawing the arms short and taping them to your temples. Hah!
So, I just bought the Airpod Max and I do consider myself an audiophile. I had the Sony XM4s and they were great, but still too far from perfect for my liking. I personally think if you don't use Apple music, then perhaps maybe these headphones aren't for you (my opinion). The case situation is annoying, but manageable. The noise cancelling is the absolute best I've ever. I don't think there is any noise canceling feature in the world better than these. The world literally becomes silent. By the way, I'm a semi truck driver and it completely tunes out my diesel engine AND the road. With all that being said...when it comes to the sound, these are the BEST headphones I've EVER had. Maybe if you're willing to spend 2k on headphones, you'll find a better pair than these, but I really don't know. I personally think these headphones were SPECIFICALLY designe for classical music, opera, or what I call candlelight dinner music, etc. They are worth every penny and i own an android. I'm pretty sure the sound quality would jump up a notch if i owned an apple product.
apple owned beats for years before releasing the airpods max. besides the obvious streaming service acquisition; that's why they paid 1 billion for the company
Everyone is bitching about “upgrades” I don’t have a set, I wondered if the ‘sound’ good, seems so, if they’re comfortable, seems so ❤ so for myself if I were wanting to get my self a set… the facts are I should❤
But not new chip which is a bummer considering how expensive they are. Seriously, what costed Apple to integrate the same H2 chip that AirPods Pro has? You know what I’m saying?
You have better functions with the AirPods Pro than the Max tbh. I don’t have the Max, i wanted them but looking at how poor Apple presented them this past Event, i regret of buying them and i ended up cancelling them
@@mariagabrielagarcia4460 i believe they are actually cooking APM2, otherwise, these would get the H2 chip. H2 is already two years old, so for the max, you need something better.
You wanted MORE detail in the highs? These things have too MUCH highs and cause me to feel fatigued after just a few songs at a decent volume. My Pro 2’s I bought to compare have a more balanced sound with more bass and a more “fun” sound. The max’s don’t make me want to sing like the Pro 2’a do.
One of the things that I hate about them. After less then a years worth of daily use. The headband will turn like this. Making it so your head rests on the hard part
Please stop giving them a pass for the outrageous price for replacement pads as "Apple tax". Also, you didn't mention that even wired you can't get true Hi Res sound because everything going in is processed by the internals and they can't handle that. And of course if anything internal (battery, processor, drivers) breaks you can't just replace it or repair it (which is true for almost all wireless headphones) and then they become e-waste.
There are many reasons why these are not worth buying; not for the headphones themselves, not for the sound, not for the price. But in the video he did point out something important. The people who are buying the AirPods Max are already deep in the ecosystem and are most likely fans of Apple. To them they are worth the price, with no complaints, but not for everyone else.
@@alejandroelcid Yup. If you're in AppleVille, these are worth it. I am in deep, so I just b ite my tongue and take it. Am I p*ssed? Yup. But I need a pair of over-ear and I'm not waiting another year!
I have not used my AirPod max for 2 years. I bought the Sonos Ace , Sony Xm8 and Bowens and Wilkins px8 sound which to me personally sounds much better.
If you love the Apple ecosystem, they are perfect for you but if you are looking for headphones which can give you that lossless listening experience you will not get it. Worse than that, Apple still does not want to give customers an app where they can adjust an equalizer to their liking. This is why I prefer the Sony XM5's. I used to be really into the Beats but since they sold it to Apple and when they released the Beats Studio Pro I was done. Not only was the significant sound gone but you can't adjust the sound. So I gifted the pair to my niece who already has an Iphone and she loves the Apple ecosystem. To me the AirrPods Max are overpriced, not only because cheaper headphones are better in sound but they are missing way too much features for the price Apple still demands.
they released tons of earbuds and items im sure they have sound engineers that made this possible especially when they aren't handcuffed by a budget. It's not all that surprising. To me these def don't sound great if you listen to vocal music they lack clarity no matter what these nerds at soundguys and their graphs say. Y'all ever seen the reviews saying condensation bricks these headphones in months?

Gonna get the new ones (USB C) sound quality is amazing
I like the case for home use and bought a $30 case to travel with, which I rarely use.
I like mine had them for a few years, solid build sound decent for tws and are reliable alway on

Good headphones solid af , probably worth 350$
Any chance at a new video on the updated frequency response?
We’re working on it! :) -Harley

now $200 cheaper would they be worth the price? i wanted to pick a pair up for back to school and wasn’t quite sure if i should grab a pair.
No the 2nd gen will come out soon so the first will get cheaper
Do u recommend waiting for the max2?
Definitely because the first will get cheaper and the second will be better
@@tombraendle7156 Now that the max's are announced, its just type c and colors.. do what you wish with that info.
Oh but you can adjust eq, you need to upload an audio gram to the health app, then you can tune it.
How to do this?

I just got AirPods Max fully boxed but used with only 1 tiny scratch for £280 and so far I think there great and I feel like I stole them

Still bought a white pair with the Sonos... 🤣

Wait until September 2024 to see if there are any changes. Supposedly new colors and USB-C.

That headband fabric is super loose 😂

Anyone try the StillVibe clone? Looks and sound just like the Airpod but so much cheaper..

Totally agree with you. Apple 100% shouldn't be charging $69 for a pair of replacement pads. Thanks for watching. Happy listening!

Looks like airpod Max 2 are nothing but Airpod max one with USB C port
They’re best for listening to The Beatles
Am going with Sonos Ace. Got the white one . Amazing performance
Glad you like 'em! Happy listening!

They are in-fact NOT worth buying anymore, since Apple is highly likely to announce the Max 2 in just a couple of weeks
new colours is shit
