When you pull the bearings out of the freehub you damage the bearing tracks. They will not be smooth under load and the life will be compromised. It's better to leave them in and maybe grease the outer one(that one will be the dirtiest). When worn just replace.

Was about to say the same but I checked the comments first...overall happy to watch, it was useful to help in my decision to buy or not similar wheels (zonda)
Also, when installing new bearings, they must be pressed in place with a socket that places pressure only on the outer race.

Would t it be easier to just swap bearings out rather than all that messing about stripping them down?

Ese extractor de rodamientos no se encuentra fácilmente y tiene pinta de caro. Problema de los núcleos Shimano (siempre tan originales) que hay que extraer ambos rodamientos por el mismo lado.
O bien extraer el de abajo a fuerza de martillazos. Mala cosa.

I have a campagnolo vento G3 wheels with campy veloce cassette. The wheel has been trued but it’s still wobbles and no amount of trueing has fixed the issue. I’m prepping to fix the issue. I may have to replace the axle or freehub depending on what is causing the wobble. I do know that the problem gets exacerbated as I ride on harder cassette combinations. The cassette doesn’t look bent so I assume it might be the axle.
Is there a way to find out what ball bearing cartridge I need to purchase for this wheel? Could I pull the axle from another wheel that isn’t campagnolo or does it have to be the same brand? Do the cartridges have to be campagnolo. Great video. I never could imagine caressing the parts as you disassemble would keep me entertained.

Ans: I wish your vento G3 is year 2012 model. if yes the rear hub bearing is the P/N 4-BH SC013 see below link for reference (page 164) and where to purchase.

Ans: Base on my experences you couldn't use another axle brand to replacement, due to each brands each difference design. You have to use the same brand and same model to replacement anyway there is "KHAMSIN" model (page 163) may be use the axle together.
@@megearbikeshopd.i.y.2883 Thank you. I honestly don’t know the year. I definitely purchased it around summer 2011 used so it may be older. I guess I’ll find out when I take the cassette off. Is there a way to tell the date of wheel. I’m assuming there were different productions of this wheel thus different designs. I haven’t found anything online. Thanks again.
I found the year of the bike bianchi 2005 which sold with campy vento g3. I looked at campagnolo spare parts catalogue it’s part FH M113 for ball bearings. I’m just going to open the wheel hub and see what I need to fix. But at least I can start with this information. Your tone made it seem that it would be too difficult to get parts for a Vento wheel pre 2012. I hope not. Thanks
@@nejolo9563 Actually it is not quite difficult to get the right part, in the term of the standard cartridge bearing there is the coding marking on the bearing sealed, the coding is telling the size of bearing such as 6800, 6801, 6802 to 6806 or 6000, 6001 and or 6900 to 6903 if you know the coding you will know the size of bearing by typing that coding in the "google" if you know the size you can purchase that size with many brands to replacement finally.
