  • Come on you can admit it! We love mods. But are we doing too much?

Craig, you’re absolutely correct regarding mods at some point it becomes overkill. The new Shoei looks sharp. Take care!!!

I’ve done the same to mine. Visibility was my goal. Goldstrike, Traxxion Dynamics, etc. I’m done.

I’m addicted to lights, as anyone who has seen my channel can attest to. When it comes to vehicles, trade nor sale has any impact on how I customize/accessorize my vehicles, including my motorcycle. Eventually, I will get to the point where I’m satisfied. My belief is, to each his own. I may not be impressed by someone else’s choices in modifying their motorcycle, but the key point is “Their.” Similarly, the selection of make and model, I firmly believe, is up to the individual. That being said, no one should begrudge another person for the decisions they make about their purchases. It all comes down to, enjoy your ride.
I understand and accept that some will critique others about their customizations, and I for one can accept that. However, critiques have never caused me to change my choices.
    Great topic for discussion!
    Ride Safely!

You are correct. There has been things that others have done to their motorcycles that didn't appeal to me at the time. Little did I know that it would grow on me and I add those same things to my bike. Everyone has to do or not do what appeals to them. Thanks for watching and ride safe!

I've done a bunch of things to my bikes, but I would classify those as convenience or safety upgrades only... lighting, engine guards, luggage rack, top case, 12v docking station, usb charging ports, camera/phone/gps mounts, heated grips, etc... but I've never done any real or significant "modifications" per se. I've never had an ECM flashed, never upgraded an exhaust, or suspension/shocks, or brakes, or anything performance related. I also have never been interested in looking for more power or speed either. My bikes are powerful enough to put a smile on my face. I guess I'm just stingy enough to improve something for practical reasons. I'm also not a mechanic or much of an experienced wrencher either. There's still a few things I might think about doing, but I'm in no hurry. Some folks have a knack for modifications and customizations, and maybe that's their hobby, their passion, the joy or satisfaction they get, and live for and look forward to... finding and completing more projects on their bikes... it also keeps them out of their spouses' hair !!! 🤔😅👍

Wayne, I am like you. I never got into the performance mods. Just comfort and safety. But if you have a Harley it's almost mandatory that you do performance!

I love modifications but also know when I am done. I've done very little to my 2021 CBR1000RR (Dashcam system/tail clean-up kit/LED accent lights) I'm taking things off my Victory Hammer 8 Ball to bring it back to its cruiser look. Let's not discuss the modifications to the Harley Davidson and I am still not done. 😒😒

This is the reason I only buy bikes i love at age 52 , I pretty much want to add a cup and phone holder and I want to ride, I am on 3rd goldwing and never even change the seats on them , I bought a harley used and started adding up repainting and customization and music and said this is going to cost more than what I paid for the damn bike and I sold it, reason being i wasn't i love with the bike i just wanted a 3rd bike and a bagger cause I had a work goldwing and a out of town wing, next bike 3rd one i buy will be something i love and a just need cup and phone holder , i care about riding , traveling and enjoying life more than Accessorizing , i have rode with guys that couldn't get a good night sleep at a hotel worrying about if they couldn't see their bikes, or the guy's with so much music on there bikes that wonders if it would start tomorrow 🤷🏿‍♂️🤷🏿‍♂️ ...

lol. The addition of music is huge now. I know a guy that just put 10k into his bike upgrading the sound. But hey, everyone has their own thing
