    I remember Donna so well! It was a genuine joy to help her and see her journey progress positively :-) I remember so clearly the day she proudly announced to us all that she’d been paddleboarding!!!! Donna’s story is a great example of the fact that recovery doesn’t have to involve fancy potions or treatments. It’s about cracking the basics. Easier said than done I realise, but it’s worth the effort when it starts to fall into place. Yet another amazing interview, Raelan, I’m sure so many people find these invaluable 💕 ✨

    Having had a crash a couple weeks ago from which I'm still struggling to recover from, this video is making me cry like a baby. The power of listening to people you can relate to is amazing. It had been months since I crashed like this, and I can really see now how I just made many consecutive wrong decisions, not giving the proper importance to these small almost-crashes I had been having for some days.

    Oh my God, I feel you so much! I had the same breathing issues and also got it right in March/April 2020. It was such a traumatic and horrible experience. Nobody will ever understand how it feels to have such scary stuff and nobody believes you. It felt like Covid hijacked my complete central nervous system and I just couldn't proof it to anybody. Violent whole body shaking, not being able to sit up without nearly passing out. Extreme dizziness. I couldn't even walk and breath at the same time and it felt like my heart stopped when I turned my head. No words for it.

      This is exactly my story. These videos are a life line for me too. I’m 18 months into this lc journey. I feel so passionate about the mind body work. I made a promise to myself that as soon as I’m fully recovered, I will help others to get out of this psychosomatic illness. I hope to be on Raelan’s channel telling my story.

    • @peachydarl
      @peachydarl ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nahidtahira9900 that’s great, I am positive you will get there. I don’t believe this illness is psychosomatic - there are clearly indicators it is physiological (microclots, elevated cytokines, endothelial damage, the list goes on) but I do believe that mind body work can be a really helpful tool in recovery. Best of luck to you!

    Donna's Covid story sounds a lot like mine. I woke up thinking my heart stopped and literally forgot how to walk properly. I was in the hospital too but they send me home in that state. That was almost exactly a year ago. I know so much more now but I'm still scared about getting Covid again.

    Which ever program or approach you choose to do they are all along the same lines. Same information packaged in different ways with different price tags. All great helpful people. First calm that danger response/nervous system. You can do this through various ways. Address your past present and future stressors do the emotional work be at peace there. Then use some form of gradual incremental training or exposure therapy in a way that relays safety to the body. Have a lot of patience and keep doing the work. While everyone’s journey and stressors and emotional work and recovery time looks different They almost always have these same components! I just finished Unlearn Your Pain, started playing around with CBD dosages and I’m already seeing improvements. I’ve dipped my toes into five or six different programs, and they all seem to have taken the info you can find in these books and personal experiences and created programs. All great people and all are helping people! I’ve seriously learn more in that book than in all those programs. They are amazing for the community and the coaching but the info is the same, across-the-board. Find one that resonates with you!

    Completely relate to this. Covid was incredibly acute in early 2020. Felt like my chest was in a vice in April 2020. Twice I thought I was going to die because I couldn’t get any oxygen in my lungs. People who’ve had omicron really have no idea what it was like then.

    I’d love to see someone talk about recovery who measured something tangible and saw it improve … for example regardless of my “mindset” and self love and compassion… my oxygen sats overnight continue to drop 15 times per hour by 4% plus - my avg daily sats are better but still 96% vs my healthy friends 98-99% and theirs never drops - you see what I’m saying?

    Question for anyone who has recovered - how do you navigate the current covid/flu climate? Do you worry about catching it again / getting sick? Or do you have confidence that your body can handle something now?
    I’m starting to make progress (albeit very slow) and I’ve been cautious about not picking up an illness because I think it would be a set back. I’ve gotten the most sick over the past 3 years since getting covid in April 2020, picking up colds and such so easily. I also suspect that my body wasn’t ready to handle booster shots I received.
    Anyways, sometimes I feel like my cautious mindset is holding me back from doing things that bring me joy, which could help with recovery.
    Thoughts?

    • @donnashaw1974
      @donnashaw1974 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tim, I must admit I am concerned about reinfection or catching other viruses but I have been unwell a few times since the first infection and my immune system seems to be able to handle it each time without much setback. I have felt like I have had covid again but my tests have always been negative so I'm not sure. But each time I have been slightly unwell and fatigue has returned, but it has been shortlived thankfully.

    • @KWilliams22
      @KWilliams22 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree that recovery can be the same. I feel that knowing the ultimate reason you got sick (I.e covid) means you have a diagnosis, understanding and potentially support quicker so recovery can be faster. ME can get ingrained....I've been suffering for 5 years now...but I was at such a loss going round in circles for those first few years....I've made the most progress in the past 2 years when i finally understood it all and started working on the right things 🙃

      I’m grateful to have so much information from so many people. This type of support and knowledge didn’t exist even 1-2 decades ago. We are blessed to have options of who we want to work with and recovery methods that resonate for us. Besides, she talked about coaching for 15 seconds, that’s it. Closing a person’s story from start to finish is normal - not an issue - especially when everything shared is purely designed to help others. Wanting to help others is a beautiful thing, no matter how it shows up in one’s life. 💕💜
