Messi and R7 were beasts at 20yrs old, but R9 was an unstoppable monster at that age. He was a legit video game character on the pitch, before video games got very popular. Stuff that he did back then was neverseen, like the creativity in dribbling, speed, techniqe, finishing, at his peak he was unbelivable, a sight never seen before, watching him literally felt like him against the whole defense. But career wise and in longevity and consistency R7 is far better.
@MJ-tb4sx R9 at 20 was already the best on the world. Messi at this age was a prospect. Besides that ,R9 had no prime . At 23 his career was paused, when he returned he wasn't the same anymore.
@@originalnutzie4409 I disagree with your arguement because Messi is one of the most fouled players in football history, it's literally a tactic in games too foul him and it's expected because he Is such a great player + we have seen Messi decimate the best defenders in the world time and time again, you are speaking about weather Messi is tough enough to sustain without being injured from high velocity players, well considering he has been fouls so much and agregously at times especially in classic games I'd say he's a very tough player, generally when he goes down he seeks to continue on and rarely over the span of his long career has been injured so I think he is robust enough to have been able to stave off injuries just as well as other players of the time, additionally messi is just as good a creative player, passer and assister as he is a goalscorer, r9 was brilliant but now messi has one a world cup and a Copa twice( however especially 1st copa nand the world cup are relevant here because he carried argentina through to qualify and turned up in every game and was thr best player in both tournaments, r9 prime at club level is not comparable to Messi, messi prime at club level far exceeds r9. internationally they are very close if you look at the copas and world cups of ours r9 won two world cups however check out r9's assist stats in those tournaments and you'll realise it paints a bigger picture of how Messi has more to his game and was impactful in not only his goals but in keeping his team ticking over with passes in play creating opportunities from brilliant playmaking and generally keeping other players involved, compared their overall careers and then it becomes clear that Messi is better than R9 generally, we saw Messi out on ABIT of weight at one time in his career yet in his later years he is disciplined to maintain an ideal weight R9 lacked the discipline and grit needed later on his career to fight through his weight gain and maintain his level after prior injuries, i.e after Cristiano Ronaldo broken ankle we saw him come back just as good and then to higher peaks which isn't something many players can do so as an overall player i think now after thr copas and americas messi has proven that he is better than R9, he won thr copa twice and the worod cup r9 had one copa and two world cups but messi made a statement on the 1st cop and world cuo showing that he was more than just a goal scorer and has far greater impact than the high goals tally suggests because he also haa insane stats in every other area

If r9 played in substitute! Not even score all the phenomenal goals by dribbling goalkeepers. He still will be better than cr7. Bruh the way he runs and dribble looks amazing. Crazy, crazy, crazy! Mourinho used crazy words 10 Times to describe him!
Talent wise R9 was better but if I had to choose one player for my team, I'd choose CR7 any day. Just because CR7's prime lasted for almost 15 years and R9's prime was 4 years or so. And I know that many people talk about injuries but there's a reason why Messi and C. Ronaldo were pretty much injury free for 20+ years: professionalism and consistency which is something that neither R9 nor Ronaldinho had. You can't only look at their 1/2 year prime, you have to look at their career.
Cr7 is the best by far bro, we know Delima he was a phenomena at his era. But what cr7 and Messi did Delima can't do by any means. I watched Delima Seria A, la Liga, I think Delima was beast when he was young at PSV even more than cr7 and messi when they were young below 20 years
You choose to win, i choose to enjoy. However, Ronaldo will eat everything at his breakfast. You have seen his belly. Though he will dribble and you just watch and think how beautiful football can be! Goodbye
You´re funny! So funny indeed. Then you just reduced R9 to run and drible and not even refer a single quality of CR7, which in his prime, you cannot compare them. Put aside all qualities of each one, then you´ll see. But liked your comment was a really good joke.
This debate is for enlightenment! While CR7 is a goal-scoring machine with incredible hard work, trophies, and an undeniable aura, I find myself inspired by R9. Playing football like him soothes my heart and reignites my love for the game. Inzaghi was a killer finisher, but he lacked the same aura as CR7 and Messi, who have dominated for years. R9's phenomenal run against the Netherlands, where he slipped past two defenders to score, was pure brilliance. For me, it’s not just about trophies; it’s about the art of the game. R9 uniquely combines speed, vision, and skill with his 100 kg frame. Not everyone gets it, but research will show you. Maldini and Nesta share similar sentiments-they understood the challenge.
If Figo still would play football he would had been the most respected so sad he retired😢 no one would ever break his record being pro over 50 I am still waiting for a soccer player who still plays on his 50's
Yes those attacker is the person who consume and celebrate the champagne, but the defenders are the group that prepared the champagne and they knew better.. thats a philosopy for the defenders❤😂
Ronaldo phenomenon is the one He was a criminal A cold blood serial killer He transformed the team game into a marvelous individual performance look at him running like a frenzy tiger beating the defenders like a piece of cake he wouldn't bother even to slow his speed a little while conquering them the poor goal keeper just looks at him in horror knowing his inevitable distiney He was the climax of football And the heart of football won't forget his dramatic injury which damaged out ultimate pleasure
You couldn't score as much in r9's day and 20 goals a season for a striker was brilliant and CR7 and Messi played in teams with systems set up for them to score whilst in the past it was about individual brilliance
PRIME R9.. I have seen what a monster of a player he was .... No player that i have seen play football even messi or christiano can match R9 at his peak during 1996 to 1999.
@@besmirmurati2382 that saying refers to team sports in general, not football in particular, but since the midfield is part of both there lies your answer.
When you play in a good team, you always have more chances of scoring more goals. I guess all Barca fans agree that Barca with Guardiola as manager was the best Barca ever. Peps Barca was so good as a team that it was during that time they won two Champions League in span of 3 years, something Barca had struggled for decades before and after. Even Spain won their only World Cup (2010 South Africa) because most players were from that Barca. That team was so good that they basically trampled other teams and all Barca's attackers had a higher goal-scoring ratios. Messi was the one who benefited the most as he was the "spear-tip" in that team, taking almost all penalties and free kicks adding to that already high scoring ratio possible by the whole team performance. There is no question that if Messi was playing for any other team (even other top team like Chelsea, Manchester, etc) he wouldn't have scored the same amount of goals as he did in Barca. I would say any world class forward playing for that Barcelona would have scored more goals than what they averaged in their real teams for which they played for. On the other hand, ever since Ronaldo Phenomeno turned pro in Brasil with 17 years of age, until the injury at 23, everywhere he went he scored lots of goals even becoming league top scorer. So that just tells me his performances did not depend on the quality of the rest of his team mates but it was just his raw power and ability. You can see that a great number of his goals were because he made runs (some starting as far back as midfield) and taking it all the way even rounding the keeper and scoring into an empty net. R9 wasn't like the Benzema, Cr7, forwards who wait in the box or close to the box for team mates to pass the ball to them to score. Just look at cr7 numbers for example are headers, a goal scored from a header just tells you the scorer received a pass and didn't dribble past defenders. For anyone who saw R9 play there is no doubt in our minds he was better than the rest. R9 as a person is also nicer than cr7 and Messi, R9 was born in a poor neighborhood in Brasil , same as Ronaldinho and they were found and shined in the world stage by their pure talent. Unlike Messi who was raised and helped to grow in Barcelona academy for years, R9 never trained in a professional club's academy as a kid, so he didn't hace the benefits you have when you're being coached by experienced professionals. R9 always stayed humble and never forgot his roots and is simply a very nice and happy guy. R9 is the best I have seen so far and I've been watching and playing the "beautiful game" since around 1995.
Also, La Liga was, I would say, more leveled from around the 2000s and further back. Meaning it was a bit more common for another team that is not RM or Barca to win it. You can just look it up on Google, and you can see that since Valencia in 2004 until AtM 2014, the only winners were either RM or Barcelona, so we can say that when R9 played in Barcelona, the competition was more "leveled" but when Messi played in Peps Barca, we can see a bigger gap between the top clubs RM/Barca and other clubs. This is a reason as to why we cannot decide if a player is better than another just because it has more goals because as pointed in my comment, the amount of goals a player scores depend of many different factors in which the difference between the team you play for and the level of the opponents play as a "heavy" factor. For me, and on the subjective matter of opinion to whom is the best player, the best way to decide is if you have seen they player play or not with your own eyes. Let me give another example of these: if you're new to the sport and don't know anything, you can search statistics on Google and find that the top scorer for world cup history is Klose, so because of those statistics you found on Google you would assume Klose is better than R9, something we know is not true because we've seen both players. The thing Google doesn't tell you is that Klose has only 1 goal more than R9 and Klose played 1 entire world cup more than R9 (I would say more because R9 playen injured all of his world cups, except 1998) so I would bet my money that if R9 would have played another World Cup, fit, he would scored at least two goals. So we've got to be careful when deciding which player is better just because Google says a player has more goals. Me, myself, abstain to giving opinions on players such as Pele and even Maradona because I never saw them play live. Older people who watched Maradona play claim that he was better than Messi, but Google says Messi has three times more goals, so according to that, Messi is three times better than Maradona which is obviously not true. What I can say of Maradona, just by the videos I've seen, is that he had amazing ball control and he was a warrior, tough and stubborn with a strong personality unlike Messi, so I would also chose Maradona over Messi. But R9 still the best for me and I would say the only player who might stand at his level is Pele, also from the little I've seen of him also here on TH-cam. I can just tell than Pele was probably the toughest SOB in the sport and when you combine a guy with such strong personality, ability, and stamina etc, you got someone you wouldn't want to play against. Even old Argentinian legends who played against Pele say he was better than Maradona. So I can't say much about Pele, but R9 is the greatest I've seen so far, and that's just my opinion, everyone has their own opinion so if you don't agree that's fine.
It's so obvious, R9 was a brilliant player. Cr7 is a consistent player, much better numbers, few physical problems. R9 and van Basten were much more gifted, but both had lots of injuries. But it's obvious these ones were much more talented than Cr7.
U can't ask Figo. Figo himself all time great footballer. He came from Portugal too. The brazil Ronaldo is ♾️ amazing. The Portugal Ronaldo is great player too. Brazil Ronaldo is something special

R9
Considering what happened with his knee ( out for 3 years ), to come back and win the world cup and score 8 goals. On one leg. No comparison.
"When you pick between father and mother it is difficult" Great comment haha
For me that would be a simple choice since my mother cared for me but my father don't he skipped with another woman so so simple mother wins 💪🏽
Roberto Carlos NEXT!!!
Want to see John Arne Riise teaching his power shooting technique. ⚽🔥
Both born to football in Sporting CP 💚💚
Cada Ronaldo Tiene su Habilidad 2 Genios!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys are the only one that can make this happen
Ronaldo and Messi in same team 😭 friendly game, it would be dream come true
R9 need we say more 😂
Guys RONALDINHOO please 🙏🏽
R9: The Legend of Talent
CR7: The Legend of Hard Working and Disciplines.
Both are the GOAT.
Look at how all the greats talk about r9, they always say he’s the best player they’ve seen
These people don't understand R9s prime it was above all
If Figo still would play football he would had been the most respected so sad he retired😢 no one would ever break his record being pro over 50 I am still waiting for a soccer player who still plays on his 50's
CR7 is good players and teeny boppers idol.
Ronaldo Phenomeno is World Player of the Year Zidane, Ronaldinho and Kaka idol.
Yes those attacker is the person who consume and celebrate the champagne, but the defenders are the group that prepared the champagne and they knew better.. thats a philosopy for the defenders❤😂
R9 of course

He is not a La Masia graduate. Stop fooling yourself
@@amooolusina6978No one said that, behave yourself
Ronaldo phenomenon is the one
He was a criminal
A cold blood serial killer
He transformed the team game into a marvelous individual performance look at him running like a frenzy tiger beating the defenders like a piece of cake he wouldn't bother even to slow his speed a little while conquering them the poor goal keeper just looks at him in horror knowing his inevitable distiney
He was the climax of football
And the heart of football won't forget his dramatic injury which damaged out ultimate pleasure
R9 in his prime >>> every player who ever lived. Only blind can disagree.
You couldn't score as much in r9's day and 20 goals a season for a striker was brilliant and CR7 and Messi played in teams with systems set up for them to score whilst in the past it was about individual brilliance
BRAZILIAN RONALDO EASY , FAR MORE OF A COMPLETE PLAYER AND HE WON THE WORLD CUP.
Fuck no
But he didn't win ucl for once.CR7 has 5 UCLs.I appreciate and respect R9 but CR7 is far better than him.
Luis Figo, one of my idols.
When a Figo hesitate to pick a fellow Portuguese, it tells you a lot.
I had no idea his english was this good
Mind blown!
Figo would be a great President of FIFA
PRIME R9.. I have seen what a monster of a player he was .... No player that i have seen play football even messi or christiano can match R9 at his peak during 1996 to 1999.
As we can all understand....
Nor defence nor attack wins you games... But midfield does
Defense wins in all sports
Uhm, no. At least that's not what they say. Offense wins games. Defense wins championships.
@@malafakka8530 and midfield?
@@besmirmurati2382 that saying refers to team sports in general, not football in particular, but since the midfield is part of both there lies your answer.
R9 is not out of a training institute, so his skills were authentic. Nobody like him
R9 is better. People will say Christiano because of his longevity if R9 had that same longevity Christiano wouldn’t be talked about
Id pick Cristianos Header, Jumping, Left Leg and Mindset and combine it with R9 right leg and skills.
Cristiano Ronaldo the one and only goat!! Siuuu!!!!!!!!!!!
THE LEGENDS ARE BACK.🌟.
He has such great humor. Very surprising.
R9 prime is unequaled
R9 is a legend
CR7 want us to say he is a legend
The perfect answer is "" if i have to pick only one , same age , from 16 to 22/23 ronaldo , from 23 to FOREVER cristiano "
R9s Barca scoring record took Messi 8 years to beat that’s how good he was
When you play in a good team, you always have more chances of scoring more goals.
R9 🔥
It's so obvious, R9 was a brilliant player. Cr7 is a consistent player, much better numbers, few physical problems. R9 and van Basten were much more gifted, but both had lots of injuries. But it's obvious these ones were much more talented than Cr7.
Intelligent respond on both Ronaldo 👏 👌.
