I was lucky enough to grow up and see him play on a weekly basis.
Some might say maybe it's romanticising because he was one of the first outstanding players i have seen but i have seen many after and nobody was like a prime Ronaldo Nazario!
There's a reason why great legends like Zidane,Seedorf,Henry or Ibra and many others don't speak with jealousy or criticism rather with admiration about him.
He was frightening for any defender and a joy to watch.
Without injuries he would have retired as the greatest and he still holds the record of the youngest Ballon d'Or.

I will always remember being in a quiet Golf/Sports club and his famous Barca goal was played on the TV - Everyone just stopped to watch and was in awe of what this young lad could do.
This was when the name Ronaldo had just became a worldwide phenom.
He changed the game, b4 R9 we had unbelievable dribblers who could go past players with ease, guys like Maradona and Best, but R9 was different.
He was able to dribble in much the same way, but he was so so fast, faster than anybody on the pitch and he was so powerful he drove through players, at 6ft he was a beast of a guy, at such a young age he was running through grown men and no one could catch him.
Then his finishing, he could score from anywhere and as comfortable finishing on either foot.
To me, someone who has watched football for over 35 years R9 in his prime was the best footballer I have ever seen and him at his best is the biggest gulf I have seen between one footballer vs any other. Messi and CR7 are the greatest in my lifetime because they have been so good for so long and even the great R9 cannot compare, they are the candles that have burned bright for the longest time, but the candle that burned the brightest in the last 30 years is R9.

Overall, R9 is more talented than CR7 and Messi. It is just his horrible injuries, his lack of discipline and his hypothyroidism that limited him. Even with one damaged knee and beer belly, he still managed to score nearly 1 goal per game.

Yeah, only in ur deluded world.Messi clears that fat merchant. The stats, trophies, individual accolades, records, consistency,n longevity are there for everybody to see in the case of Messi.Just funny how people like u like changing posts with nothing to argue after Messi won it all.R9 never even won a single UCL trophy, are u aware of that??And even if he was fit,he couldn't score 91 calendar yr goals, even great Pelle couldn't do it against farmers n dentists during his time.Well Messi did.Its not even a debate n him having his injuries is not anybody's fault, shit happens so u cannot use that as an excuse.Even Cr7 once had an almost career ending nasty knee injury that he had to change his game from a winger to a penalty box striker.

When He returned to Brazil after all problems He faced since He went to Europe, So He was around 100 kilos but made all other players looking like children. He did not need to run, jus send the ball to him and wait to see the results.
