    So well explained. Lots of information compressed into easily understandable and short videos. Way more effective to gain practical understanding than looking at POF graphs only all the time. Thank you!

    As far as I know the maximum rate of descent will be lower for a heavier aircraft. The explanation is that being heavier the aircraft will reach the maximum operating speed when descending at a rate of descent that is lower then a lighter aircraft. So the lighter aircraft actually descends faster!

    • @PilotEd
      @PilotEd  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      aerodynamic speed like Vne dont really change with weight only regulatory speeds. :)

    • @siposclaudiu7475
      @siposclaudiu7475 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      PilotEd My point is that the heavier aircraft has to maintain a lower of descent that a lighter aircraft, otherwise it would over speed. Heavier aircraft have a greater momentum and this weight-driven momentum will produce a greater speed in a vertical dive.
      Therefore a heavier aircraft has to start its descent earlier than a lighter aircraft because it has to maintain a shallower descent.
      Btw great job with this channel. Really useful stuff :)

    • @PilotEd
      @PilotEd  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      my point in the video was two identical aircraft flying the same speed the heavier aircraft would arrive at the ground first, but both flight paths would be identical. thanks for watching :)
