I don't like to hate but this is one of the worst designs in Nike history as far as cushioning goes. 270 and 720 alike, but the 720 in particular. They exaggerated the 97 design which was not great to begin with (cushioning, not overall design, I love how the 97 and 720 look). They should focus on expanding the implementation of react in stead of screwing up their Max Air line.
never had a problem with my 720s but a little con that I have is that when you go down off stairs, the back kinda rub against the stairs, leaving scratches on the air unit
Take a chance on a cheap or pre owned pair like I did. I'm a fat guy, like over 250, and mine are holding up fine. Wore them every day for months. I had the same reservations as you, that they would either randomly pop or in my case, collapse under my weight and so far neither has happened
They're an odd shoe, really. On-feet they feel like nothing else, even the 270 doesnt come close. They're totally unique and I love them for that. That doesnt mean they're not substantially flawed though. My pair are black/black/anthracite, they're a big, heavy shoe and the upper material isn't particularly breathable: wear them on a hot summer's day in Florida and your feet would be a sweaty mess. The grip in the wet isnt great either, so you cant really wear them as a winter shoe. You certainly wouldn't want to run in them (the packaging alludes to this, essentialy saying they'd been developed for walking strides, not running strides). They also benefit hugely from a breaking-in period. They felt a little stiff at first, but after a fortnight both the upper and the air unit had softened and allowed much more flexibility. This all sounds really negative, but they remind me of an Italian car; despite the myriad flaws, they're full of character, they're a little bit crazy and you cant help but love them. Even in my collection they still have a regular place in my rotation alongside Ultraboost, AirMax 270, VaporMax, Pegasus Turbo, Presto React and 350 V2.
@Joshua Wallace If you were disappointed with the 720s then dont get another pair. The Presto React are excellent, especially considering their relatively low price point, but they're a casual wear shoe and not everyone loves the way they look (though I do). You wouldn't go running in them, and personally I wouldn't go to the gym in them - and the same applies to the 350V2- whereas the Pegasus 35 Turbo I absolutely would. It depends on what you're wanting to do in the shoe.
Lit Cats own a pair of the all white pair for me they are extremely comfortable bur for my boy he says they are uncomfortable Just depends on your foot
@@shpatm i got this shiny green ones and thay havent poped and i own tham for around 8 months. But that protaction on the bubble will wear off if you walk scratch your foot too much. Pressure in the bubble it self gets worse over the time but its not something zo worry about since it makes it more comfy at least for me. Walking on this bubble is something els tho really is THE BEST airmax ever, you really feel the air and bounce whan you walk. You gotta get used to that booty tho cuz it hits the ground before your foot but its fun to get used to. Look wise its dope and makes u taller, get this pair with more rough upper cuz the smooth one gets dirty and ripped. Get a pair just know that this arent ment for running and sports, its for urban wear around the city. Sorry for my english still working on it since its not my mother language. Get a pair your money aint going to waste just be carefull and dont walk on sharp things. Even if you pop it(if its not booty pop) you wont feel it that much its still holding(but if you pop the booty you gonno drop)
Tried this on feet in the store and passed: I appreciate that some people "get used to them" or that they break in, but really, there are no so many shoes that feel amazing on feet the second you put them on and take a few steps (Pegasus Turbo, Ultraboost 19, React 55, Zoom All out Low etc) that unless you are really in love with the 720s design, it's really not a shoe that has much real world appeal.
I bought them for the full retail price when they came out and i don't regret it because i got a color that i like. Some of these discount prices are amazing, but they made some horrible colorways
Big fan of Nike. My bubble actually popped after wearing them every day for the past 7 months. Just bought the MX- 720-818... although I am still afraid of the bubble, I loved the stability of this shoe and the sensation of “walking on air”...also I love the design of the MX- 720-818 even more than the 720. The “big butt” of the shoe has its pros and cons.
I've had the iridescent ones since they came out. I don't wear them daily but I wear them attest 2 times a week. I haven't worried to much about the air bubble and they still look brand-new. These are some of my favorite shoes and I recommend them.
I always end up liking the unpopular thing 😂 720 is in my top 5 AirMax models. I take both the comfort and colorways over the 270. I have Triple Black and Be True and this model was just instantly comfortable for me. The heel cushion is wild, and this model just plain looks great. VS the 270 I think the upper on 270 is way too fragile and high maintenance (still enjoy mine), whereas the weakness of the 720 IMO is the bubble seam close to the front…less flexibility than the 270.
Bruh if you had on the 720 while it was raining and enter a building with tiles your busting your head open 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣if you have 720 yk what I’m talking about
Bought a pair of these today, my first ever 'proper, expensive' kicks. I'm literally so excited - even bought five pastel-coloured t-shirts to match the styling I have (but oddly, I can't seem to find the name of it anywhere; it's white with blue-to-green air bubble, and then a bluey-purple reflective sides and toe-tip)
I bought the 720 be true edition in June and I’ve had no issues. Love the shoe. Only con with them is that they’re a lil snug. I wish I had gone a half size bigger. Then I just bought the 720 Jordan black. They’re so comfortable I love them. I’m very active in my Jordan 720’s and they’re very comfy and breathable. I was walking in the snow last night in them and didn’t have any issues. I’m looking to get another pair of the Jordan 720. Very supportive
i have this shoe. it’s very comfortable, sticks out but not too much.. very durable surprisingly. it’s cool to have a shoe that has that big of an air socket and it gives you some height. they are moderately breathable and have cool colors and different designs. i recommend it if you are a shoe collector or an air max fan.

I found women extended sizes last Saturday for $34.99 with an extra 30% off so it came out to about $20ish dollars which was a MEGA steel!! Found in Nike Factory Leeds Al
That's one of those amazing coincidences where you have a women's colorway (guys tend not to like it) in a large size (too big for vast majority of women) of a model that is not selling that well (720), the store is trying to clear some extra room and they throw in an extra 30% off - that is what bargain hunters live for. Well done!
I have two pairs of 720 (Nike Air Max 720 [Throwback Future] & Jordan Aerospace 720 [White/red/black]) , both over a year old. I agree the 720 does have limited use but the Jordan Aerospace 720 nixes most of the complaints from the Nike version and is much more versatile.
Personally I love it.. But the price for sure when it released was the main issue... I feel its comfortable and definitely makes you taller... Everyone's different about shoes and how they feel... To me they are stable and defo are abit sippy at times in rain... Defo to get eyes looking wear them.. The 720 colour ways are outstanding! Definitely the best colours of a shoe I've seen.. I've two pairs and do love them.. Make me a 5.6 fella taller so I can't complain too much.. Good review... 👍
I’ve worked in a footwear store now for 7 years, issues we had with them, multiple pairs brought back a week with popped bubbles, even had pairs fresh from the warehouse, with a popped bubble. When parents are buying them for their children, it’s always one of the first questions they ask is about them popping, which is not good from our point of view that the consumers don’t have faith in the product. Also, we had a few pairs brought back with the front being so stiff that it’s caused people blisters etc, but I’m fully aware that could also be the customer not buying the right size. All round brilliant video though and agree on every point made!
My pair has been fine (no bubble bursts), but I don't wear it too often. Maybe once a month... if that. I like the look, but it has too many flaws. The shoe isn't breathable and is unstable. The air bubble doesn't really add any comfort. I think the problem for me is the pressure on the heel is all in that middle part. Like your heel is resting on a beam. Maybe if it had more of a solid heel shank to disperse the weight all over the heel instead of right in the middle? Also with all these collabs and different materials, why haven't they made one with a 97 upper? For crying out loud, the shape of the 720 silhouette is identical to the 97.
I personally love the 720s. This is the only Air max model I actually felt like I was walking on air. I hope they stick with the 720 bubble, make improvements. But the one thing Nike must do is make a better more comfortable upper if they ever make a second model.
Got a pair of the saturn 720s in white (much to the disagreement of literally almost anyone with halfway functional eyes) and honestly they are extremely comfortable, and the high style pretty much corrects the stability issue. Its almost impossible to find those 720s in a size 12 and a decent color...I personally think the vapmax are made cheap A/F for being 200$. I wld love to find the carbon gray or wolf gray pair...
Nike gave me a full refund when mine got punctured by a nail after 3 months of wear. The big bubble leaked air and felt like wearing the 270. Overall I like the shoe design, however the big bubble is too firm for long wear comfort. Maybe the big bubble will become less hard after a year of wear.
I bought air max 720 and within 3 months both trainers had deflated. Im so angry and salty i refuse to buy nike products now. I got them from an online retailer and they asked me to return them so they could look at them but im far too busy with work to mess about so i just moved on. Its sad because i love the way they look but theyre crap
Haven't seen the video, but for me, these are sick looking shoes, but one of the most uncomfortable in my whole collection, by far. The air bubble is not that soft really and the uppder hurts after a couple of hours of wear due to regidity of the material.

I was given an Air Max basketball version for Christmas l love them I do roller skate a lot the hight of the shoe wasn't too bad of an issue for me.
Its almost impossible to find those 720s in a size 12 and a decent color...I personally think the vapmax are made cheap A/F for being 200$. I wld love to find the carbon gray or wolf gray pair...
my 720s popped really sucks ngl i had the university red ones and the right shoe split in the middle next to the foam so it can’t be repaired
Idk if should buy them to school since i run alot
I love them I have all blue as of yesterday
Nike gave me a full refund when mine got punctured by a nail after 3 months of wear. The big bubble leaked air and felt like wearing the 270. Overall I like the shoe design, however the big bubble is too firm for long wear comfort. Maybe the big bubble will become less hard after a year of wear.
Is it not possible to harden the bubble ?
what is the alternative Nike to this shoe as nike stop releasing it now ?
Mines left shoe started deflating after like 5 months but still wearable. 😐
I have the SAME EXACT pair of those and my bubble paint is like peeling off How do i fix that?
Loved the look. Not true to size for me or my wife. Not very comfy to us. Took them back after a week
I have air Max 720 Metallic Platinum since September and mine still didn't pop so far
In my country croatia that shoes are 215$ when not on sale. On sale they are 180-200$ and price didnt dropped
I love my pair of 720 the best feeling on a bubble
I bought air max 720 and within 3 months both trainers had deflated. Im so angry and salty i refuse to buy nike products now. I got them from an online retailer and they asked me to return them so they could look at them but im far too busy with work to mess about so i just moved on. Its sad because i love the way they look but theyre crap
I like the Air Max 270 a lot more
Are the 720 Horizon and ISPA the same height?
Please make a video on all downshifter shoes
Because that is all I can afford
Haven't seen the video, but for me, these are sick looking shoes, but one of the most uncomfortable in my whole collection, by far. The air bubble is not that soft really and the uppder hurts after a couple of hours of wear due to regidity of the material.
My bubble popped but I bought another pair so 🤷🏽♂️ I recommend this as a work shoe really comfy
Believe me, this shoe will go super high in a couple of years
No it won't
I've had 4 pairs of them, just light use all the bubbles popped
Get your hands on the Leather UBs, yet?
I like my hydro dipped pair but sadly I don't like the way your foot sits on all that air
My left shoe is flat
I wanna know how to fix them
For some reason mine had way to much air in it and did not squish
Oi i stepped on a peg and it deflated after 2 months of use. So sad since they where my fav shoe
