- Israeli tanks have reached some residential areas of Rafah in southern Gaza following months of fighting in the north. Hundreds of thousands of civilians have fled the city ahead of a planned large-scale ground offensive. Israel's allies have repeatedly warned against a major assault on Rafah, but Israeli military forces have stepped up their activity. They say they are targeting several Hamas battalions still holed up there. Hamas is considered a terrorist organization by multiple countries including Germany and the US.

If Hamas wanted peace why do they continue to send rockets to Israel and why from populated area ?
if they want peace they must make sure that there is an "unpopulated" area left to place their defences in the future. not thinking that through in the 20th century is why they now have to fight this war from populated areas.

Hamas played Taqiyya on Israel as had been done in Madinah before and Israel was thinking that by being friendly with Hamas there would be peace. In another word, this showed how serious and sincere Israel was to have peace with the Palestinians while the Palestinians were only thinking about annihilating Israel.
