I really loved this video. I’m from Ohio and live going to Vegas but I love Vegas walking videos, I like seeing streets, buildings, and places that aren’t on the strip. I was happy for you that your sidewalk returned quickly when you were forced to off road and the last thing I’ll say is that those Nevada state flower and bird jokes made me chuckle… thanks for that.
I do this all the time when visiting Vegas. It really isn't nearly as bad as many make it out to be. You just need to be aware of which terminal you're in (Terminal One), which end of it you walk out of, identifying the pedestrian path that winds past all the art installations, palms and cacti between the tail-end of the passenger pick-up lot and the Paradise Road pedestrian path, and making sure you are hydrated and have adequate sunblock on is all. 🙂 The only thing I do different from what you did.............is I cross the street after making it down the scenic pedestrian path, and walk up the frontage pedestrian path on the other side of Paradise Road. I just always feel more comfortable walking down Paradise Road facing traffic than having my back to traffic personally (plus the surface is smooth on the other side), but either way gets the job done. 😊
Only a fool would. There’s busses you can take. Open up google maps & get directions from airport to your hotel… change from car to bus / public transportation. It’ll show you how
I did this once when I went to Las Vegas. Walked from the Airport to the MGM. It took about 45 min - 1 hour. It wasn't so bad, but I was in the Vegas heat at night. Nice video
The main thing I was amazed at is that you did the whole trip without sitting down! I think I could do the trip. But I would have had to stop and sit a couple times!
A little correction, you should've crossed Kitty Hawk at the Employee Parking Lot and turned right. It would have taken you around the corner and straight onto Paradise. You wouldn't have had to walk through the dirt for that small section. Nice video, though! Thanks for making the walk.
$50? Not bad. U now have to upgrade to premium just to get an Uber without a wait time which will be closer to $75-100. Insane ripoff either way. I’m so stingy that I drive to treasure island to park my car for free even if I’m staying all the way at mgm or Mandalay. I save like $40 on parking by doing that. I obviously lose much more in gambling but I refuse to pay $18 a day for parking

I did that walk from the intersection of Tropicana and Las Vegas Blvd back in June 2022 about four o'clock in the morning. So what I took from this video, is the location of the RTC buses at the airport which could be located literally in front of any of the doors at the airport are placed in their distance from said doors to make taxis look more appealing...I wonder who took lobbyist money for that design decision.
This reminds me that I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel Casino several years ago and I made the walk back and forth several times to the strip. It really wasn't very fun.
Google maps says this walk is 2.4 miles, which is approximately the same distance as Wynn to Excalibur, so almost the entire strip (save Resorts World & Luxor/Mandalay, depending on how you're counting "the strip"). I've done that, but not without a bunch of stops for beverages/debauchery on the way. I was hopeful about the idea of RTC busses but it looks like there's not a ton of options that actually start at the airport (CX, 108, 109), might still be better to skip a couple drinks and plan for the car.
I always wondered what that walk would be like and thanks to your efforts, now I know. I also know that there is no way in hell I would ever do it lol. I watched the entire video for moral support. Thanks for doing that, it is very much appreciated.
I take the bus. I usually meet friends from other parts of the country who Uber to the hotel. They look at me like I'm crazy for taking the bus (which is super easy). Kudos for walking though...I get plenty of steps in daily when I'm in Vegas without the walk from the airport. :)
