the most true statement ever when i was like 15 before i started muay thai i thought they wouldnt do much but i was very wrong

I took muay thai kickboxing for a few years. One night a buddy of mine that is around my weight but im a few inches taller than him challenged me to a spar. I told him yehknow what ill wear gloves you go bare knuckle if you want (not to be a tough guy, i was kinda hoping he would because he does actually has pretty good hands hes a boxer and i do have pretty good head movement so itd be more motivation to not get hit) anyways, everytime he would try to get his hands going, id just chop him with a leg kick. I instantly realized he didnt turn his leg at all. Again. No turn. Again. No turn. Well as it turns out he had absolutely no idea how to check a leg kick. He explained it to me. The first one he was like "ok that sucked but it wasnt to bad i can eat those" by the 3rd it was "holy shit that fucking hurts, in the same place again?" And by the 5th he was laying on the ground. Needless to say once he could walk and bounce around again properly it was time to teach my boy the proper technique and importance of checking leg kicks 🤣🤣
My first Muay thai class we were doing low kicks and I had a bruise for 2 weeks and that's with a kick pad 🙃

Also shows how training low kicks is not a waste of time, the more you train your shins the harder they become you can tell this guys been training his low kicks for years and that his bone is as hard as stone.

That's what the "shorts test" is for in Muay Thai. If you can survive it, a few leg kicks aren't going to put you down.(You'll also know how to check or evade them and counter punch/kick.)

I've been doing muay Thai for about nine months and I can say that it is easy to learn the low kick but hard to execute effectively but when the opponent is untrained they are basically a punching bag

@@supadreamy7561 my gym just started Muay Thai about a week ago, but I also train kickboxing. My gym does kickboxing Muay Thai and bjj. But in my experience if you just show up and stay consistent it will become an obsession. You will be nervous the first day the after you get through your first class you will be fine

I heard that leg kick, I also used lower kick legs in a fight as a Muay Thai fighter myself.

Not gonna lie, I’m a very well trained fighter (almost 15 years of experience). But I honestly first thought it was the guy with the bright fancy Venum gloves, since a lot of boxing fan boys go and get random Everlast boxing gloves. But after that first leg kick, I knew exactly who the real trained fighter was. 👍🏻

Real Dedication, Muay Thai fighters train their low kicks for years in order to harden the shin to the point where it is as hard as stone. The other guy maybe a few months of training and thought he was gonna tear through the competition lol.
Leg kicks are the human equivalent of ripping the foundation from a tower, weaken the base, the rest will crumble. They don't always look brutal, but you can hear the damage, like getting hit with a whip made of bone.

I was in this muay thai gym for the first time when the instructor was seeing if i know the basics because i had experience in karate. He then told me to kick his leg nd it felt like i kicked a chair leg.

Very smart fighter, he knew what he was doing from the first second. He wanted his opponent to keep coming forward get heavy on the lead leg then smash it. The fight was all but over. Very humble and respectful fighter, well done to the opponent after that first kick which was a leg finisher.

Dude, I seen "Rodtang" or something, but he a kickboxer, and his leg kicks will literally sweep you off your feet. Tbh I feel as though he wasn't really like putting power into it, cause they seem like friends, it's just how quick it is to impact, especially to the untrained. He could have popped his knee joints out imo
