- After spending almost two weeks up in Manila, Cavite, and Laguna areas... it was time to head back with Therine to Cateel to spend Holy Week. In this video, I start off my last day in Manila by hitting up "Shaka", a delicious smoothie bowl cafe. From there, I fly with Therine to Davao and we get picked up by Kumar for a ride back to Cateel. We were lucky to get back just before the big Holy Week rush...
HOT SPRINGS!!! The best way to relax into the weekend.
Friends are coming and going... and we find ourselves on a little errand mission to town for some binignit supplies.
Holy Week back in Cateel Davao Oriental Mindanao.

Cool intro of random walks in Ayala, Legazpi and Salcedo. I miss my childhood and teenage years. Literally where we go after school after saving our allowance to finish it haha. Changed a lot since then... the old Glicos, walking around Rustan's, Landmark, National Bookstore, Papemelroti, Tickles, Cinderella, Starbucks 6750, Timezone and Friday's in Glorietta, watching the movies with Taters different-flavoured popcorn, playing frisbee and hanging out at the park..

one thing i like the gf of Kulas is that she doesnt talk much in the blog unless she is asked to say so...she is cool.
Therine is very outgoing and friendly, but has always been a bit shy and reserved in regards to vlogging. I think we have found a great balance with it.
Although sometimes she really does enjoy speaking with the camera.... especially when sharing about her passions or social enterprise... or teasing me :D.

Yes no tomatoes in Tinola in Luzon mostly Tagalog, just sautéed onions, garlic, and ginger. Then the veggies chayote and green pepper leaves but it optional if there’s none.

Kamatis in tinola is optional. You can or not put it. I like the taste with tomatoes better but sometimes i don't out tomatoes as they spoil faster.😂

True, we don't put tomatoes in tinola in Manila. We also don't make gisa the chicken meat and chilli leaves make the tinola taste unique.
Depende sa iyo kung igigisa mo pa actually, nag level up lang si Kumar pero normally hindi na ginigisa ang yes, bisaya tinola has kamates & tanglad (lemongrass)

Hakwat (hakot+aswat=hakwat). Hakot is moving stuff from one spot to another. Aswat is carrying or lifting. So hakwat is moving stuff by lifting.
Alsa, aswat, pas-an can be used interchangeably.

cateel beach has higher waves now and a lot of landslide on the road,if your going to cateel from mati its a worse road route,i just came in cateel on 28 march,and raining from morning till night. we came cateel around 9pm and momi rose beach already fully booked…

You guys could collect yoru own firewood from the beach over time. Just slowly save it up as a ‘reserve’ for future use.
We had... but the problem was recent rains all the time. But indeed... a lot of driftwood around Cateel!
