  • Thank you for joining us on our first visit to Universal Studios Japan! Please watch the video in highest quality.
I bought the Express Passes 4 XR Ride in advance for this day to have a stress-free time at USJ and it definitely helped us to enjoy the day without rushing at all. It also gave me more time to talk to the staff about their new plant-based food options. The Nintendo merchandie was especially nice an I wish I would've bought more, but there will be a next time for sure and I can't wait to explore Donkey Kong Country and everything else on the next visit.

Loved your video. Pity about donkey Kong country. I thought it would be open when we went but I loved Nintendo world. I didn’t know about so many of the food options.
We went in October (first visit) and I don’t think they had labelled plant based options. We brought our own food which we didn’t know we weren’t allowed to do (at an all vegan bakery in Osaka) and we had to promise at the gate we wouldn’t eat it so we just starved. Also loved jaws even though it is old school. I thought it was fun!

Thank you for watching and your comment! Ahh so you need to return as well to get to see Donkey Kong! 😄 They really announced the opening day super late. USJ started to offer plant-based options since November 2023 but it was just a very small choice (pizza, vegetable plate, salads). Now it's a really nice selection, especially with the Butterbeer.
Ohh no, I'm so sorry you were hungry at the park. :( The USJ website says: "Only guests who have concerns about the food sold in the park and guests with dietary restrictions can bring their own food into the park.", so this might've saved you that day. I hope you still enjoyed the day there and hope you can return soon to enjoy it once again, this time with nice food!

ive got the express pass 7 for going in march because i really dont think it would even be worth going without it at that time. wasnt cheap but worth it to make sure i get to do everything since i dont know if i will ever be back again! will definitely be going to the jurassic park cafe for food, that looked so yummy. for the butterbeer what did you ask for? when i went to universal hollywood im pretty sure i had to ask for no cream. thank you again for the great videos!

Ohh thanks for sharing, that's so interesting! I think because the entrance tickets are quiet cheap for USJ, visitors are more likely to buy express passes because it doesn't hurt too much. In your case, you probably made the best decision with the 7 rides, even though this one is indeed not cheap! The plant-based butterbeer is visible on the normal menu at the Three Broomsticks, it can be ordered very easily therefore. As far as I know, all U.S. Universal Parks have vegan butterbeer with foam topping available (even the frozen one) since March 3, 2023. Hope you can get the chance to revisit someday and try all the yummy things! Thank you a lot for your comment!
