    I ran PA at an infamous metal bar in Chicago located near a police district…Every once in a while we would get some police radio in the PA.
    Was an A1 /AV geek and Operations manager @ a 5 star/diamond hotel property also in Chicago. Watching this video you are in the pocket with gear and organization. For the future digital mixer a db meter a nice lighting package for video (don’t buy a camera and lens x rent)shoots lighting package for ambience on the stage keep it warm n soft. Get some rigging experience. Cable covers and lots of 4”gaffers tape black white orange/yellow n brown. Learn everything you can about PP take classes and be a proficient typer n speller. Some type of teleprompter system.Now not to sound like that guy making the step from DJ attitude to corporate guy got to make the line dark n thick. Corporate event planners don’t understand the entertainment industry I was a road warrior that had to make the step to corporate. Company logo polos 3-4 Nice suits and a nice tux.
    Have a nice billing system that shows line by line cost of equipment for the corporate gig so you can trim the bill if they get sticker shock. This goes for tech time not just the equipment. Have a hard line about when & how many techs are required for an event. And always have them feed your crew and you. To add a few more plates at an event could be costly depending on venue so ask if venue has a crew meal option or add the option of a meal buyout and bring a cooler.
    Sorry I went off hope it helps in someway even a laugh. This all stuff I learned the hard way just passing it on not full time in the industry anymore.

    For video: Black Magic for multi screens. Pro Presenter. Run STI not HDMI for anything over 16ft.
    You’re going to need at least 2 really good projectors. 16x9 tripod projector screen with drape.
    Audio: Feedback Suppression x1,000

    Next step could be a digital mixer for your corporate gigs. You can set your compression and gates accurately. You can also set bespoke EQ per channel which is a godsend to control vocal mics. The Midas M32R is a good rider friendly entry point which is known industry wide.
    Really impressed with that Optima projector - HD with good output - puts our old bulb projectors to shame. We’ve have had loads of use out of our screens so yours should prove to be a great investment.

      Looking at that consule also considering the new Allen and Heath boards

    • @alastairkeith8553
      @alastairkeith8553 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@DJRickWeb Allen & Heath is a solid choice as well - very intuitive to use. Don’t forget to include the cost of a digital snake/stage box as these can be expensive from some manufacturers. You’ll be doing bands PA and lighting soon LOL - the inevitable slippery slope into doing full stage setups😆

      @@DJRickWeb Allen & Heath consoles are absolutely solid, can recommend the Qu and SQ consoles. Never had any issue running them, it also has a very intuitive User Interface which is always useful

      @@DJRickWebI recommend the SQ5 is a nice board and great to use and when you get a stage box it will add up quickly and also the Midas M32R is nice too and the Yamaha DM3 is nice too if you want a compact digital board

    • @ErnestDotPro
      @ErnestDotPro 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I've had SQ consoles refuse to boot at an event twice. Main board failed. Will never trust them again.
      Now running Behringer Wing when full console is needed (that thing has features only seen in $50k+ consoles) and M32R on smaller gigs.

    I would recommend getting a pair of CAT snakes if you can call them that. It is a snake with four xlr connectors that run over a single CAT cable. Good for long distances. Very cheap aswell.

    sennheiser IEM, could have been like you suspected, a dodgy cable buzzing.
    Also, check your headset buds out, plug them straight into a mixer in the headphones, as well as directly into the monitor out.
    Does your sennheiser have a headphone test socket on the transmutation unit? you could try the ear buds in that socket as well, just to rule out the belt pack receiver.

    I would definitely recommend a digital mixer. The subs can be run in mono, allowing you to send only the elements that need subs (e.g., no vocal mics). You can EQ your mics, which is really important for feedback, and there are many other important features / possibilities.
    Last year, we ran some events with L-Acoustics KARA and SB18, which is excellent equipment for rider events. We had a band, DJs, a comedian, and a sort of talk show. None of this would have been possible without a digital mixer.
    If you want, I can share some videos or photos of these events or from events we hosted this year.
    Greetings from Germany,
    Jonas

    I would highly suggest not running your delay/fill speakers in the configuration that you have them, and instead running them as traditional delays.
    With a "4 point" sound system like you have, you're going to have every seat in the audience getting a different arrival time ratio between the tops at the front of the room and the back of the room, totally messing with your system's coherence. Not a single person in that room had a time aligned sound experience as you have it set up right now. If you simply pushed the delay towers forward by 30-40 feet, and had them all pushing sound towards the back of the room, with time alignment between zones, you would have a MUCH more coherent sounding system, which as a sound provider should be your main goal.
    I think you'll notice a HUGE difference just by switching that deployment up.

    • @DJRickWeb
      @DJRickWeb  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The time delay was set at half the distance so that it was setup more like a movie theater system. The person dead center in the room heard everything at the same time. Then volume wise it was set to not have it fade into the front or the back. Room layout didn't allow for us to move the speakers forward cus of catering / lack of outlets.

    • @evanturunen
      @evanturunen 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@DJRickWeb Totally understand what you’re saying, but the reason movie theater systems work, is because they’re not all playing the same content out of the same speakers at all times. It doesn’t fix the problem, but it mitigates it a lot more.
      Time alignment aside, the biggest issue you’re going to run into here is with coherence of your rig. It was most likely all over the place. Personally, if the issue was the room layout, I would have chosen to bring those NXLs up about 8’ higher, remove the delays, and then add front fills. Since the NXLs are so tight in the vertical, 8’ up would have missed your first half or so of the room, allowing you to come in and deploy front fills, and get the same even coverage throughout the room.
