I learned this the hard way. I loaned a friend money to start a business and it failed. All of a sudden I was a piece of shit. I read a book a little later that said "People will hate you directly proportionate to how much they think they owe you." Now, I don't loan money to anyone.

I heard someone else on this matter, and they say that in this situation they say: "Look, I'm going to give you this money and I don't need you to pay it back, but our deal is that you never ask me again". Absolutely brilliant way of telling genuine need and manipulation apart.

I agree , or if friends need money hire them doing a project for u using what ever skills they use for work when possible to earn what they are trying to borrow so they don't owe n avoid u after borrowing, I always hated trying to chase down my money i didnt need to loan out to begin with

I don't lend. I give it. My mother doesn't need to ask. I just give her. My family and friends if they ask, I give them when I have something to give. Regardless of how much, they need it. They won't ask anyway, if they don't need it.

If you’re reading this please understand that for the last ten years I have let people borrow all sorts of money adding up over 250,000.00 💀 yes, this is not a joke. I have not seen one penny back and most of it was family and friends. I’m about to be 30 in June of this year.
My Advice is to tell people that there is always something worth 50-100 dollars in furniture laying around a normal home. If a person doesn’t want to sacrifice whatever they have to get what they need then the problem has officially become theirs.

When you get indoctrinated into the fact of “Money is a tool rather then something to hold on to .” And you’ve went down the investment route and make more. You start to realize that the little money you make you appreciate it rather then giving it or spending it on dumb things. Which in return you make more money.

That is shitty rule. If you can’t count on your family, than what’s the point of having one.
I assume that you’re talking about yours pathological/getto families - that’s the different story. They’re addict, didn’t care about you - then it’s justified.
However if you have loving parents, siblings and members in family in need - you SHLULD help them.

why because they made better finacial decisions, lived way under their earned money to save become rich, worked hard to have several income streams instead of one paycheck, maybe worked harder spent less n one day moved to a better neighborhood which may be why they worked very hard for yrs n made better decisions n spent less on things they didnt really need
