The first time I was there was February 1976 to June 1977 and I lived mostly on s Korean diet. My GI Tract felt great until I came back to the States. I'm just glad I was at home on leave that first month back. That's about how long it took for me to get readjusted to American foods. That's also one of the reasons I quit drinking.

I had a think about this too and then realized it's more than likely because of texture. Like eating down on that really soft bread to then be greeted by something hard would ruin it for me honestly
Im gonna go with because this is made in korea, and they like their food to be presentable and pretty. If you watch other street food videos like waffles, for waffles the sellers will tend to cut off the edges and round it off to make it look round instead of weirdly shaped

I think it was originally designed to make baby shoes, then someone found one discarded and decided to make bread and eggs in it. If you look enough on TH-cam, it seems that all metal garbage in Korea is eventually recycled to make some sort of cake or egg meal
