You can either polish it off, which takes away some silver, or you can try to reverse the chemical reaction. That's what is happening in the glass with boiling water, aluminum foil, baking soda, and vinegar. If its important or valuable jewelry, get a jeweller to clean it. Or use a silver polish. If its junky jewelry that doesnt matter, try the chemical reaction.

You can get a 6 dollar bottle of tarn-x and it will look brand new. The stuff is very strong so dont soak for more than a minute or two.
