Your channel is definitely a light among the dozens of bts reaction channels on yt. I'm not a filmmaker but I am a cinephile so I like seeing cinematography and good camera shots. But rarely ever do I find reactors talk about how well bts music videos are shot. Its like yea i already know the guys are talented and they all look good.
@@LoveTheBasics korea can gets to below minus 20 in winter especially North part can gets much colder. Staff wearing very thick winter coats while they only wearing very little . It may not look cold but must've been very cold.
@@LoveTheBasics Korea is not a tropical country so they are very used to the cold most definitely. Korea's winter on an average is -6 to -3 celsius. They get a low of -15 to -20 and it snows really hard there.
@@lizatnight i know right? Just January of this year it snowed really hard in South Korea for I think 3 days straight and was -19 degrees celsius. Me coming from a tropical country I wish we could experience that cold too but I think I would regret it if it ever really happens.
You mentioned they have a long day. That's true when they shoot in South Korea. They actually were shocked when they shot videos here in the States, because of the laws about how long each day could be, and when breaks were required. Apparently in South Korea (at least for most of their career), the film & entertainment industries have not had the benefit of labor laws that we have. I know there's been times they've gone without sleeping for a couple days.
Omelas is a short story. Similar the plot of Snowpiercer, which they used in their lyrics/a nod to the train that they’re on most of the time in the MV. Super coooool the literary references that they use
For this album photoshoot they created a temporary Bus stop and and removed it The Gangneung city (name of place where the set was) Government has installed a replica of BTS’s bus stop at Jumunjin Beach, complete with the set’s bus stop signstop even though no bus arrives there. ARMY go there and take pics for memories. It also know as bangtan bus stop(BTS bus stop)
Hi! I just wanna say thank you! Your reaction are always so genuine & in-depth. I've been a bts fan since 2015, and I've seen many reaction videos titled as "producer/vocal coach (insert any profession) react to bts", but only few of them do videos like you, break down the details and provide the knowledge we are curious about. I do really appreciate the hard work you do for filming the reaction videos, since not many people would do the same! Keep up the great work, looking forward to more insightful videos from you!
You should watch an explanation for Spring Day. The Sewol ferry tragedy is about this song that's why it is still on the charts. At that time they couldn't com out and say it because the gov't would have black listed them. There is also a documentary called What Went Wrong in the South Korean Ferry Disaster? | The New Yorker. if you are interested. it's very shocking what happened.
This particular song and mv is very meaningful. It's written by RM when he has a conversation with Suga regarding friendships... And the mv has special meaning towards not only ARMYs but also the whole nations. Even if they never directly pinpoint the meaning of it but the masses relate to this song and mv a lot during a tragedy. Thats why SPRING DAY remains as queen.
I recommend the Wings short film, they can help you have more insights in their works, and most importantly, the shots are ✨beautiful ✨. And after the Wings are the Love Yourself highlight reel videos, they are part of the LOVE YOURSELF era, they were ✨spectacular ✨. And next to that was the "Black Swan Art Film, the music, the shots, the way they portray their art are ✨amazing✨. I highly recommend those for you because it would be great examples for BTS' films and arts
There are actually longer versions of shooting sketches, but they are on dvds. I mean, you can find them on yt and so on, but there would probably be copyright issues
I was watching your ON shooting sketch when this popped up lol. I really like your reactions especially as I've started on filmmaking myself I'm more of an editor but I did an internship this year and did about 3 videos solo and worked on a documentary which was pretty exciting but I think I'll stick to editing I'm still learning so I've learned a lot of tips from your reactions, this is so long so borahae💜🤗
They would be super touched if they see your reaction to their video. You get many deep points by just feel it without watching any theories or explanations videos. 8:28 YES!!!!
Part of the success of BTS are the people behind the camera, scene, stage who very talented. Yes the creative ideas, videography and cinematography they are excellent.
‘Run’ is amazing and was the first MV I saw of them. It’s hooked me because there was a story line and the comments kept saying it was part of a story that was being told throughout different MVs so it was a rabbit hole I dove into. I think you’d like it.
The 'Omelas' refers to a book called 'The Ones Who Walk away from Omelas', about a society who lives in happy place but at the cost of one child's happiness, making everything dystopian. It correlates well with the Sewol Tragedy, where Korean students were sacrificed to be let drowned under the ocean, for the sake of fake sense of security done by Korean government echelons along with the ship captain-who was quite cruel because he escaped first from the ship instead of the students. They were the culprits of the whole Sewol incident. Every books BTS referenced or use as inspiration is read by their leader, Kim Namjoon. You might want to keep this in mind everytime you react to their discography and MVs. I love your videos so much, it's so educative! Keep it going ✨
I would recommend Jungkook's GCF videos which are filmed and edited by him. There are 7 videos from 2017-2019 so you really see how he improves in each video. Thanks for your reaction you always give great insight!
Thank you for "getting it". You get why we have such a soulful connection to BTS. You get the fact that Big Hit...now HYBE are so particular about creating their product with such exquisite quality and heartfelt messages. The music is healing. The lyrics are healing. The moving pictures are healing. And to us their communication of the emotion through their dancing is healing! It transcends all. It is universal. There is no racial or gender or geographic or economical or age or disability or religion or constitutional biases. It's really life. And we all live and feel and cry those experiences. We can learn to have true compassion and truly empathy for the whole population of this earth. We can learn to live in Truth and Love. No wonder BTS is asked to speak at the United Nations. No wonder they won the highest cultural recognition award from the President of South Korea. No wonder they won the Entertainer of the Year for 2020 from Time magazine. No wonder they received the highest praise and recognition from UNICEF. I have no doubt they could receive the Nobel Peace Prize someday! Thank you for getting their art!
Just want to add to someone said from the comments..I recommend “Save Me”MV and the Shooting Sketch. The shooting sketch made me love the song even better.I think you gonna like the way they film that.
WOW you're quick. Love love love your perspective! I'd love to see your reaction to the explanation/theory video. It's not really cinematography focused...more so focused on the symbolism so..no pressure. Ha
The train concept was utilized in reference to the movie Snowpiercer is in the song. It’s a futuristic film where the people that are left in the world live in a moving train which is a whole society in itself where the rich are in the front and the poor are in the back. Referencing the movie is another layer to the ship incident where those who didnt survive were the ones left in the cabin.
Once again your perspective is so refreshing. I have a deep appreciation for YOUR videos! I really enjoy your descriptions of how scenes are filmed, the cameras used... wow. Keep doing what you do. I hope your career is phenomenal!!!👏👏👏👏👏💜💜💜👏👏👏
As you may have noticed already, BTS's lyrics and MVs are built on layers upon layers of meanings and symbolisms. I appreciate how you are trying to decipher each and every screen, but knowing what I know already, you are barely scratching the surface. Happy journey through the bangtan world. Borahae 💜
Great! And there's a lot of explanations out there. There's one called "What you still don't know about spring day" but it's in Italian I think. There's subtitles. It's not an interpretation of the figurative meaning of the song but if the circumstances that pushed them into actually writing about and making this video. Even if you never post a reaction to that video, I'd still recommend you watch on your own time, if only to take your sweet time reading the subs. It was the first time I literally sobbed my heart out like that watching a video.
I found your channel just today and I wanna say so far I've seen pretty much hundreds of reactions but my favorite are those where professionals are giving their viewers a lot of interesting pieces of information here and there. Like I know all these MVs by heart, but by watching reactions as yours I still learn something new every time, it's so fascinating. Also I love that you are not biased, cause obviously you didn't have much time to fall in love with the guys (but I guess eventually you will just like everybody else lol) and you give your honest opinions and unique perspective. And you are just so calm and collected, I dig this vibe! I feel so relaxed and immersed while watching your reactions. Thank you for your hard work! A lot of people dismiss BTS because all they see is colorful shots and boys in makeup, but your experience gives your a wider viewpoint and I enjoy it a lot. In some sense I envy you because you get to experience all these masterpieces for a first time. Have a nice journey with BTS and ARMY! I hope you will stay with us on this long ride :)
This video is actually incredibly sad and pays homage to a real life tragedy where hundreds of kids died in South Korea. Pls react to the explanation video of this music video. You will definitely understand the depth of each scene then. The directors really outdid themselves for this.
If u see the yellow ribbons is to honour the victim, over 300 students drowned when the captain and crew saved theme self. And the mountain off clothes represent the student that went on fieldtrip and never come back
Save Me is a great mv and shooting sketch. It's a genuine 1-take mv from beginning to end. Simplistic, but one of my favorites. For lots of high tech stuff, check out Not Today and Dope. Dope is from 2015 and was my introduction to BTS just a month after it came out. They talked about the camera being some type of really high tech (and VERY expensive) camera. That was back when they were still struggling financially so...bless their hearts...they (and the crew) were trying to do everything as perfectly as possible with few takes because the camera was so expensive to rent. By the way, I'm so glad to have found your channel. I'm enamored by your reactions and knowledge on film and directing! Thank you, sir!
Honestly I really love your interpretation of this video. If you just replaced breakup with loss/grief I think it’s spot on. You actually had the knowledge to put into words why certain shots made me feel certain ways Then again it’s not like there’s a right or wrong way to interpret art but still
oh i really think this should be your gateway to hyyh storyline and mvs... watching those in its order would be great, the bu mvs are one of my favourites! especially run...
To you as a film maker we have to recommend you to check out G.C.F (Golden Closet Film) which are videos made by one of the members - Jungkook. He is multitalented and apart from those "obvious" like singing/dancing/rapping he also has a big talent for film making. He made short films in his spare time when he and the members were for example in USA. Or when Jungkook and Jimin took a trip to Japan, Jungkook recorded it and edited it himself. You can find these on BANGTAN TV channel. They are really professionally made and very very visually pleasing and I think you would enjoy them too.
I recommend Heartbeat MV! It doesn't have a shooting sketch episode tho but it's really pretty and worth watching, it's a song for their mobile game that's called BTS world so the story and the lyrics are about the game(to be exact the part of the game that's about them being in a different universe and how they're meant to find each others even in that universe) so it's not connected to real life or the storyline
I love when reactors are involved in the MV making, really like to have your opinion on their stuff 😄 Can't wait to see you discover the Bangtan Universe !!
I am so happy to be joining you for your journey with bts, I especially loved your reaction to spring day. Oooof the theories behind this one-- especially with the short story.... ahhhhhh. Honestly the theories and interconnecting storytelling is what initially got me deep into bangtan back during the wings short films. I love the characterization and imagery they go for. I’m sure you get recommendations all the time, but if you are ever looking for other amazing storyline and visually stunning mvs I do recommend TXT. HYBE really knew what they were doing with their music videos, every single music video feels like they just went full tilt for the concept. Excited to have found your channel!
It's been 6 years since the Sewol Ferry Tragedy. Spring Day has also been used in many memorial services for the victims of the disaster. The father of one of the victims said in a statement, "Without anyone knowing, BTS quietly visited our kids through their song and video. They showed us their unforgotten hearts. Yae-eun would've liked it a lot, too.” The victims will always be remembered and cherished. If you aren’t aware, to be informed please continue reading. On April 16th 2014, the MV Sewol Ferry capsized and sank on its route from the mainland to Jeju Island in South Korea. Almost all of the 476 people on board were students from Danwon High School, aged 14-15, as the entire second year class was on an overnight field trip to Jeju. The disaster left 304 dead, 250 of them high school students. The second year class of Danwan High School originally had 325 students, but when the school reopened after the disaster, that class was made up of only 75 students. The yellow ribbon is the symbol of remembrance associated with the Sewol Ferry disaster hence the picture. "I want everything to be a lie," high school student and survivor Oh Hae-youn said about the disaster. "When I wake up in the morning, I feel like everything feels right. Then I realize it's not. I just wish everything was a lie." Namjoon - , "As a citizen of this country, I do believe we should feel responsible. We thought we could send our condolences if we could. We donated because we wanted to help.” Namjoon has also said that he wrote the song in one afternoon, after seeing a leaf fall in a park. The boys were allegedly on a sanctioned blacklist due to the President at the time creating it of any artists or celebrities who spoke out against her or her regime or even mentioned the ferry disaster publicly,, however this is too political and i won’t delve too into to it. they were on this blacklist for having privately donated 100 million Korean won to the victims’ families for funeral costs and psychological services. The general public had not known about BTS’s donations until a few of the families chose to publicize it. The official count of survivors is 171, not 172, because a few days after the disaster, the vice principal of the high school Kang Min-kyu committed sui/cide. He wrote in his sui/cide note: "Scatter my ashes at the site of the sunken ferry, so that in the afterlife I may become a teacher to my students who have not been rescued." thread by @/7explicit ”The sun will rise again. Because no darkness, no season. Can last forever” -BTS S
You fell deep fast into the rabbit hole ! I am so impressed. I have spent my entire afternoon watching you. I love your insight. I can’t wait to see you after the explanation video. Not sure which one you chose, but there is one by an Italian Army that goes so in-depth, more than any of the other videos. It is unbelievable what they put into this one video, and 75% of it goes unnoticed, if you go watch the explaination. 💜💜💜
If I'm not mistaken, all of BTS' music videos are filmed by a production house called LUMPENS. you should definitely check out their other works! always phenomenal !
With the explanation video it will make so much sense I'm looking foward to it!!! and just an additional here, if you react to their other MVs, I Need U (OG Ver), Prologue MV and Run need to be seen in! this! order! because these specifically are telling a whole story in parts. Love your reactions, I'm glad that their hard work with their videos are being appreciated
I have two suggestions you might enjoy as a filmmaker. The first is Daechwita by Agust D (which is Suga's alter ego) and Stay Gold by BTS. Daechwita actually used a real historical site as the background for the video. Stay Gold is one of BTS's Japanese singles. The set design, especially the ending scene, is incredible.
Has anyone suggested Life Goes On yet? Member Jungkook had a hand in directing that video you know^^ he dabbled in video production with his little travel logs he called GCF (Golden Closet Films)- also worth a look, his style is fascinating and evolves throughout the years- and joined as an official director in Life Goes On as part of their album BE which had the members having a greater involvement in every aspect of the album (project management, photo concepts, album features and design etc etc)
Korea can get very cold indeed, they were wearing light clothes to depict spring coming. ( the scene where they walk towards the tree) The guys usually dress in thick padded jackets, even inside sometimes.
I was amused when you were watching the Spring Day MV and you said that you've never seen them do something like that. I liken BTS to mercury. You could never pin them down. Just when you think that you have them figured out and could predict their next move, they'll surprise you with something else.
Appreciate all your different interpretations and new incites I may have not caught, looking forward to see the more I recommend Dechwita or Save Me I’m sure you’ll love the BU, very cinematic storyline, you can go pretty deep down that rabbit whole so maybe wait a bit it can get overwhelming
The explanation video by bulletproof vibes is excellent. Your interpretation of Spring Day was very good but the explanation will give you a different interpretation a very important and sad one.
I Love your reactions explanations and analyses. 😊👌 we can see your honesty and genuine enjoyment and we also gain knowledge from you as well! I hope discovering BTS will open up even more opportunities for your future and career. 💜💜💜💜
I am so curious to find out what you think of all the WINGS short films. They were made as sort of concept trailers for their album WINGS but are brilliant (imo)
Please watch the wings series. And the you never walk alone series. Theres a chronological order to watching bts music videos. They all add up beautifully .
I've in mind so many music videos for you to watch and I'm sure you will love it. Lay - Lit CIX - Jungle Red Velvet - Psycho ACE - Goblin (Favorite Boys) Jackson Wang - LMLY Jackson Wang - Pretty Please Agust D - Daechwita (he is Suga from BTS but it's his solo mixtape) Dreamcatcher - Dejá Vu Tomorrow X Together - 0X1= LOVESONG (I know I love you) And there are many more but i think you can start with these ones
Wow you are literally amazing , I love the way you explain . I learned more from your videos . Please do react to "Mic Drop", "Idol" and "Fire" Mv's . I'm sure you will love it and I'm eagerly waiting you to react for more BTS videos. Thank you so much for your beautiful explaination.
I believe it would still be worth watching the explanation video because there is a lot of references and meanings that are not addressed in the shooting sketch
3:10 directror says: "its the inside of a washing machine" refering to a pile of clothes. Been a fan for 4 years and somehow never thought that. Also i think you missed that part.
I’m going to be reacting to the explanation video tomorrow and then re-reacting to the music video again so subscribe!
And sorry for the audio! 😅
please react to the explanation by Italian army!!
It's okay:)
Yes! Looking forward to it! 😊

By the way, I'm so glad to have found your channel. I'm enamored by your reactions and knowledge on film and directing! Thank you, sir!
Honestly I really love your interpretation of this video. If you just replaced breakup with loss/grief I think it’s spot on. You actually had the knowledge to put into words why certain shots made me feel certain ways
Then again it’s not like there’s a right or wrong way to interpret art but still
oh i really think this should be your gateway to hyyh storyline and mvs... watching those in its order would be great, the bu mvs are one of my favourites! especially run...
i need u original ver. and euphoria are personal faves of mine when it comes to the mv’s storyline.. butterfly is good too.
Really enjoyed your point of view. Looking forward to the next one
Please, please watch the Spring Day explaination videos!
I love when reactors are involved in the MV making, really like to have your opinion on their stuff 😄
Can't wait to see you discover the Bangtan Universe !!
Yae-eun would've liked it a lot, too.”
The victims will always be remembered and cherished.
I just wish everything was a lie."
Namjoon - , "As a citizen of this country, I do believe we should feel responsible.
He wrote in his sui/cide note:
"Scatter my ashes at the site of the sunken ferry, so that in the afterlife I may become a teacher to my students who have not been rescued."

I'm literally watching all your vídeos in sequence, so good
you can react to not today, blood sweat and tears japanese version mv, stay gold, lights, airplane pt2 they're all so beautiful
love keeping up with your videos everyday !
You should check out serendipity mv by Jimin next- I think you will greatly enjoy the aesthetics.
this was filmed during the peak of winter in korea 🤣 around january or february
Has anyone suggested Life Goes On yet? Member Jungkook had a hand in directing that video you know^^ he dabbled in video production with his little travel logs he called GCF (Golden Closet Films)- also worth a look, his style is fascinating and evolves throughout the years- and joined as an official director in Life Goes On as part of their album BE which had the members having a greater involvement in every aspect of the album (project management, photo concepts, album features and design etc etc)
i love your reactions and have your notifs on, i love the little details that you point out :) thank you for reacting to bts mvs!
This came out in Febraury with *Not* *Today* MV too
Korea can get very cold indeed, they were wearing light clothes to depict spring coming.
Thank you for this. I love your insights. I would love for the behind the scenes to be more technical and way longer!
Appreciate all your different interpretations and new incites I may have not caught, looking forward to see the more
I recommend Dechwita or Save Me
I’m sure you’ll love the BU, very cinematic storyline, you can go pretty deep down that rabbit whole so maybe wait a bit it can get overwhelming
I would recommend to watch bts Wings Short Films they also have great cinematography there.
Just
Thank you!
watching you has become a part of my daily routine, and your channel is growing so fast!!
I think you might like BTS - Home at The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. There's the rotating room, and you can see the behind the scene too
The explanation video by bulletproof vibes is excellent. Your interpretation of Spring Day was very good but the explanation will give you a different interpretation a very important and sad one.
I can't wait !💜
You definitely should react to each one of BTS WINGS Short Films
I Love your reactions explanations and analyses. 😊👌 we can see your honesty and genuine enjoyment and we also gain knowledge from you as well! I hope discovering BTS will open up even more opportunities for your future and career. 💜💜💜💜
I am so curious to find out what you think of all the WINGS short films. They were made as sort of concept trailers for their album WINGS but are brilliant (imo)
Please watch the wings series. And the you never walk alone series. Theres a chronological order to watching bts music videos. They all add up beautifully .
It's from a book called the one who walked away from Omleas
I'm really enjoying this series! You have a great reaction style.
please react to what you still dont know about spring day by Italian army !!

I really enjoy watching your reaction videos. Hope you react to Daechwita next time.😀
You should also watch the making of of the “on kinetic manifesto MV”
Wow you are literally amazing , I love the way you explain . I learned more from your videos . Please do react to "Mic Drop", "Idol" and "Fire" Mv's . I'm sure you will love it and I'm eagerly waiting you to react for more BTS videos. Thank you so much for your beautiful explaination.
I believe it would still be worth watching the explanation video because there is a lot of references and meanings that are not addressed in the shooting sketch
React to epiphany MV it’s beautiful and I love that song 💜
3:10 directror says: "its the inside of a washing machine" refering to a pile of clothes. Been a fan for 4 years and somehow never thought that. Also i think you missed that part.
The analysis video would break your heart.
You should watch stay gold its like a part two of this mv
Another great video, thanks!
I can understand how u feel when u see those cameras it's like me seeing travel blogs 😂😂😂😂😂
can you react to MIC DROP? This is really cool MV of bts .
No CGI - just a closed down freeway - cars and dynamite and 7 geniuses!!
