9:06 he is shooting with Leena she is a Japanese child actress with no relationship with his family. In the story of this MV she portrayed his sister of his character
"The cameraman has his own choreography with the dancing." 100%. Watch Save Me MV and behind the scenes, best example of this. As to members involvement in music videos and concepts: I think it's changing from MV to MV. I can imagine it'd be different for group (BTS) than individual projects, since the company makes those distinctions, but I definitely say they have serious input, but like you said, they can also stand back and trust their team/Lumpens, if they don't see a problem
Ella Solas that's different, for mixtape , the guys do everything they even do the payment. That's why it take so much time to the members , specially the ones with less experience ( the vocal line ) to do mixtapes, they need to be the directors or like producer executives. They need to do all the paper work with the producers , etc. it's A LOT of work , for example jhope chose the dancer for the CNS video( also the MV was his idea ). RM wanted to his second mixtape were animated and also it will be easy to public ( cuz they were on tour , too busy to shoot a video ) and he wanted to released it. Jk just said he want to do different themes for different videos like 4 , which is A LOT , and knowing how perfectionist he is , is gonna take him forever , so that's why he said about that advice of suga or just released the stuff or he won't do it. For bts or any other official group the process is review by A LOT of people and the last to say is the producer executive Bang PD , but at the end he just wants what make bts / other groups look the best. And that's cuz those songs are for charting , the mixtape aren't ( so they have more liberties on those ). So he can't fu*k up when it comes to that or as a company they will have consequences ( like misunderstandings, etc ).

They said 1 week because it also involved the shooting of the ON Kinetic Manifesto MV which they filmed at Sepulveda Dam' , located in the San Fernando Valley in LA. Mini Canyon is located near the area too. Early last year, they went to US (before the pandemic broke out in US) to attend the Grammys. So, they took the opportunity to film the two MVs for ON and one for Black Swan (shot at the Los Angeles Theatre). Black Swan -the song is pretty much what the hollywood movie Black Swan is about, so some locations in the Black Swan the movie can also be seen in the MV.
This was filmed in Jan 2020 in LA part of it was in Disney Ranch (the lake portion), the big rock is close to 5 Freeway. Also, they were already very popular in 2020 with three Number 1 albums in Billboard 200 under their belt leading up to the released of ON/ Map of the Soul (which became their 4th Album to hit no.1 in BB20). They started to break into US in 2017 when they were nominated in Billboard Music Awards.
since you mentioned you wonder how involved the members are in the process of making the videos, army can suggest you some of the mvs we know they've had a hand in. you should watch the life goes on mv, which was directed by jungkook (the youngest member of bts). they also made a 1 day music video using just what they had in their hotel by themselves, which is the spinebreaker mv.
Spinebreaker is epic! One time a girlgroup Gfriend was given a mission on their variety shows to made their own music videos. These girls are doing their best eventho they were stumbled. But BTS like know the key persons, key elements, and they made the process looks smooth. Amazing.
I just found that video last week and it was really cool to see. Recommend reading the lyrics first so the meaning of the song is clear, because it really clarifies some of the choices they make. th-cam.com/video/o2wHJr0NrT4/w-d-xo.html
Life goes on!! You need to watch this music video of their’s! They did everything themselves! I mean everything! Jungkook did was the director, jimin was the project manager, taehyung was the visual project manager (styling, photoshoots etc), and all the members helped write the lyrics to their entire albums discography.
Lumpens really know what they're doing with every single music videos they produce and Bighit really makes sure that its artists get the mv they deserve.
Lots of biblical references when JK dies than his body is laying on the ground with crows on him while JHope is dancing amongst thorns. Next scene being reborn when his thorned shackles enter the water and brings up a conk shell for a horn that brings the walls of Jericho down. Also when Jin picked up the dead dove and he took it into the room with the other dead doves covered in cages. He noticed the cage he had, moved and with a look of hope for life towards the bright window and let the dove free when they were freed with the wall opening, then 7 doves flew when they ran out and onto the rock. Also heard V say on another interview that the young Japanese actress represents army. She was protected from seeing the hardships and suffering in a barren and war torn place while rebirth and new growth shown when her blindfold was removed.
What amazing is Lumpens can do shots in different tone, colors, vibe, etc and it made like the mv was produced by different company. Eg, Save Me, Run, BST, BST Japanese version, Idol.
8:56 I'm not sure if the girl represents his little sister in the MV or if he meant 'dongsaeng' in Korean to refer to someone younger than him, but she's not his real sister.
Love the little technical explanations throughout the video! A lot of the ideas/concepts come from Mr. Bang (the company founder/CEO) who majored in aesthetics.
10:42 I think it just means that there are many ARMY from the different fields. So sometimes, ARMYs bring some new pieces of knowledge when they generate interpretations. And some of those are out of their expectation. I believe BTS and ARMY are learning from each other as well.
They filmed it in America because they where here for the Grammys plus several press interviews and shows. But its not their first big break in the US, they started to become very popular there around 2016-2017 when they performed for the first time at the bbmas. It would be super cool if you took a bit of a deep dive on who they are and their history or at least learn their names :)
"I was shunned from the village but everyone cares about me" That is insane. BTS & ARMY actually got cast out of the kpop community by fans. Literally. We get an insane amount of hate but even though they pushed us out, they still care about us and know everything that's going on. Man I love that.
Thank you for the reaction! You probably don't know it yet, but Jungkook (one of the members) makes his own travel short film (Golden Closet Film), and directed one of their MV, "Life Goes On." I recommend, you may like them :) I also think that the videos and MV from the "BU" series may be interesting for you from a cinematic point of view, especially "Wings short films 1-7", but it's best to watch chronologically from "I need You".
Usually, they aren't involved with the actual storyboard of the music videos but they do come up with the concepts and ideas. Alot of the songs they write and produce are based on books and usually the literature they are referencing in their music is what's represented in their mv. Tho some members are more involved than the others. I would recommend Spring Day MV and Spring Day explained by bulletproofvibes. It's a fan made theory that's widely believed but the video highlights how bts like to hide tiny details into their music videos
9:53 thats not his real sister but i think he called her that because they are close or he just used that name for her bc of the mv😭 (V also has a tendency of calling kids babys😭)
@@LoveTheBasics in some Asian countries you may call unrelated people a sister or brother if they’re in same age range as you. You may call people in your parents age range aunt/uncle, and people in your grandparents age range grandpa/grandma. It’s just a hierarchy, respect, but also can be an affectionate thing. OR.... the characters that the girl and V are playing could be siblings in mv story.
Music video-wise, the boys speak with their creative team and their staff about the overall concept they are going for and the story they wanna tell and they brainstorm ideas, and that is after they’ve been interviewed individually to get their individual thoughts on what they wanna do in terms of concept. Once they have a vision set they let their creative team run with it and take care of the rest. Their music videos are produced by LUMPENS most of the time but LUMPENS also collaborates with other companies depending on the need. The boys do not get to see the final product until a few hours before release, and they love that and we fans find it hilarious, especially when they release their reactions. Also while shooting, they tend to tell the directors, and the people that they are working with what shots and scenes and aesthetic they might want to be shown or include in the final product (for example the tattoo on v's neck, he specifically asked for it and as you saw in the butter behind the scenes they were asking for specific cuts and matching up stuff while filming), and if it fits the directors and editors tend to include these types of suggestions in the final cuts and products. Recently They've been even more hands-on into the video making as JK actually directed their LIFE GOES ON mv last summer. The same thing goes for stage setup, they discuss the concept, come up with a rough draft and let the team run with it.
I love how you are binging through the behind the scene works 😅 I understand the thirst for the knowledge because for you the knowledge in creating art is your thing that draws you the most in any form of art. I love how people from different fields react to their specific thing in any BTS project. It gives us so much extra knowledge too. Thank you!!
LoveTheBasics bts were already known in the US , they got already 3 number one albums and sould out stadiums all over the world , the wall part represents them breaking the language barrier all around the world. It's what they did not what they are going to do. The whole series is about them showing how they accept each part of them becoming their self aka truly accept themselves aka love themselves. The whole series is like a guide meanwhile the love yourself series is how the came into the conclusion if you want to truly love someone you have to truly love yourself first ( that story is seen with the serendipity MV DNA MV ( development of love ) , singularly, fake love MV ( turn) and epiphany and later IDOL MV ( conclusion ).
To respond to your question, theyre very involved in the music composition and production and choreography side of things. The MVs are thought off by Lumpens, their film director whose been working with them for years now, hes also a genius as well. The videos always match with the track themes but Lumpens often make it so conplex having several different themes and references running through the MV alone, it becomes its own montage. As fans, we've sort of adapted to this. We dissect a track first with no MV and appreciate the message by itself. Then come back to dissect the MV, because the MVs pack a punch of easter eggs, hidden gems, and references.
The youngest member jungkook actually directed their MV ‘Life Goes On’, it was released during the pandemic and is about their feeling at this time. I recommend that MV to watch at some point. 🥰
Still living these. Thank you for doing them. Re the camera having its own choreography, I’d love to see you view “Save Me.” Very simple concept producing an amazing effect. It’s a great contrast to their elaborate ones.
I eagerly wait for your reactions everyday. I am an army, and i love BTS MVs so much but after seeing your reactions, I again fell in love with the MV s. Thank you for your reactions.
They were in the US for 6 weeks, working non stop. They filmed this, ON kinetic manifesto (at Sepulveda dam), and Black Swan (at a closed down theatre in LA). They also did a ton of late night shows. Their work ethic is amazing.
The members usually come out with the concepts, participate in the production and write about 80-90% of their lyrics. They work extremely hard to write their songs (they release about 2 or 3 albums per year... One of them once said he writes about 200 songs/year), learn the choreographies, while managing to keep up with all the interviews, award shows, concerts, reality shows, etc... So I believe they do delegate most of the MV making. Just like actors often don't know the whole story of their movie before watching the final version of it ;)
I enjoy your genuine reactions with passion and curiosity as a filmmaker🎥 And also, your reactions help me to discover many different aspects of the MV.
All their MVs are done by Lumpens. That company’s mission is to not have many clients, but dedicate themselves to the ones they have. They’ve been with BTS, Big Hit and now Hybe (they do the main MVs for TXT and Enhypen too) since the very beginning and I respect them so much for that. They’ve grown with the group and the company.
big hit said themselves they make their artist really connected with this cinematography. they put artist's thoughts along with experts. they have their own individual thoughts in this mv. even the throne tattoo you're seeing on taehyung's neck is also his idea.// also she's not his sister😂😅he calls her this .
Their primary focus is in the music, their film and production will most likely discuss with them what theyll do or what.. so they're pretty much aware of what they need to do. Though, theyve admitted many times that they can't decipher it easily compared to armys 😅 so this one is no different. Blood sweat and tears was different because RM, their leader, read Demian by herman hesse which was practically the basis and inspiration of the MV. as well as their Map of the soul album series, RM was reading Murray Stein's jung's map of the soul book so their songs were somewhat inspired by that and adapted to how they are in order to reflect the song in their own way. They also have a song called Spring day, and the boys were watching Snow piercer and RM read The ones who walk away from Omelas by ursula k, both of which can be seen interpreted in the MV (also it was talked about though not confirmed that Spring Day was inspired by the sewol ferry tragedy in Korea back in 2014). As much as I love Dynamite and Butter, all of their songs are pretty layered. They only did Dynamite and Butter since it's easier for western market 😂
"Spring day" is a very beautiful Music video and is very meaningful, also I think you would like "I Need You" and "Run" these two music videos are usually paired together as they are the beginning of the Bangtan Universe. Also the "Wings" short films are great and a must is Golden Closet Films. I love them, someone else has suggested "Life goes On" and it's great too, but I recommend seeing the Golden Closet Films first. They are Jungkook's personal works and you can see his touch in "Life goes on" as director.
This was filmed at Vasquez Rocks in LA County. (For future reference, ON: Kinetic Manifesto was filmed at the Sepulveda Dam on the LA River, and Black Swan was filmed at the Los Angeles Theater). When V says he is shooting with his little sister, Leena, he does not mean his actual sister. In Korea, it is customary to refer to each other as younger sister, older brother, auntie, etc. The younger members will call the older members "hyung" (what a male calls an older brother), sometimes including their name, Jin-hyung or NamJoon-hyung. If Leena speaks Korean, she would refer to V as "oppa" (what a female calls an older brother).
If you want a music video where the boys are involved the most in it, you can check out Life goes on, which is a simple homemade music video but still very well shot, and it was actually directed by Jungkook from BTS himself, he even filmed a lot of parts of it by himself with his camera. It's supposed to showcase their normal life in the pandemic, that's why it feels more real and this is why the main director was Jungkook. He is really passionate about filmmaking and wanted to direct a music video for years now. He has some short films he upload and edit by himself called called GCF, it's well shot and very professional.
We can see that Big Hit and Lumpens have seriously filmed and produced super quality music video. Their MV are comparable to any movie except they're shorter and accompanied by superb singing, rapping and choreography. This shows that Big Hit and BTS are very passionate about their crafts and arts.
Answer for you're question : The members usually help the company by composing the songs and write lyrics. The BE album was fully made by them and the life goes on video was directed by jungkook ( the youngest member) but we don't know if they gives ideas about the mv shooting 😊 Thanx for explaining behind the scenes you're reactions is entertaining 🤍
Love your reactions! I think Idol is a really good MV to watch (it’s so colorful and the song itself has a lot to do with their Korean identity and both the MV and the song have a lot of Korean references). Love love love that song. 💕
I agree with so many army that suggest you to watch Spring Day. The MV is really beautiful and full of symbolisms and references. Also the MV really capture the feeling of longing beautifully. Spring Day and Save Me is the one that get me hooked with the BTS' universe because it really beautiful
Now i really think you're gonna like "I need U full version" and "Run" those were back in 2015 before wings when their budget wasn't big so they used lots of outside sets and stuff
This wasn't when they were 'starting " in usa. They've had fand and concerts in usa since 2014 and been on tv and such since 2017. This came out in 2020, they filmed it the week they went to the Grammys
Sometimes the camera is part of the dance practices. They use these practices to get their eye lines straight for stage performances on tiny stages like the ones on late night shows and the like. At least one MV (save me)is a one shot of a dance performance and that cameraman was weaving through the group during it, so that cameraman for sure had some rehearsals back in the practice room.
BTS isn't usually involved in crafting music video concepts (nor their album design, concert designs, promotion designs, etc -- although BTS does give input and express things they want to do or try) their focus is primarily on their music & performance. Their parent company has its own artistic team (probably a separate team specific to each music group in the company) that creates and designs the videos. The exception is the music video for 'Life Goes On' from their 2020 album 'BE'. That video (and album design, promo design) was all BTS-driven. With the time off they had during the pandemic, BTS wanted to get really involved in every single step of the process because they don't usually have the ability to do that. Writing, recording, practicing, learning and perfecting choreography for performing and concerts usually takes up all their time.
they have their director and art and story telling department... they are the ones matching all the symbolisms of their songs to what bts want to show to people with actual references. They change things and share ideas with the director (for example V's thorns in this video) for group staff but when it comes to there solo projects they are a lot more involve. V and RM are the more artsy ones when it comes to books, paintings,etc.. and Jimin the least haha he has a hard time following the themes sometimes haha But they are extremely busy all the time, so they usually put the same amount of details and references in their songs and let their stuff match that with visuals
they do have control of music videos story, sets, concepts etc but most of it is done by the production team/director. i think they know somewhat their role/characters individual role but they dont know everything until they see the finished music video like how jungkook said his part about being banned from the village but jimin said hes not sure what the story is and that he'll see it when its done. they will add things here and there like ask to wear sunglasses or hats or add fake tattoos or will ask to film something a different way if they dont like the way they look even add their own ideas to how a scene is filmed etc however LIFE GOES ON music video is directed by jungkook the youngest member. and the concept of the album BE which life goes on is part of that album was done majority by the members as in music, lyrics, production, music video, story, concepts etc they did live streams and showed us the album process and their ideas for the music video as well as the album concept photos etc they mostly focus on the music portions of their content but will contribute to album/music video process here and there i think life goes on was the most they contributed for music video and concept but thats because they always say the music is their main priority. when it comes to solo music videos they contribute more to the concept cause its what they want done for their solo work example suga aka agust d and his song/music video daechwita. hope this helps you understand every song, album, music video, concept, era, etc is different they dont have 1 way of doing things or one set of rules or set contributions. each time they release new music they determine who does what its always a different process depending on what they want to accomplish. that goes for line distribution, roles in music videos, screen time, who writes what lyrics, who sings or dances what parts etc etc everything is done project to project no limits and no set process.
I wanted to mention On isnt their first single after wings. After wings they have 3 albums of Love yourself :her, tear and answer. Then they have the duology of Map of the soul , persona and 7. You are watching the lead song of map of the soul 7 album.
12:25 i'm not sure how involved they are always with making of the stories but they are definitely involved, attending meetings about mvs, having a say in shots and wardrobe etc so far life goes on is the mv they worked on the most probably since one of the members, jungkook, was one of the directors for it, but it is true that they do not always see the finished product until the very end when they react to it and they are always very amazed
Recently they have been more involved in their MVs. I think it is because they have more time, now that they can't go on tours. Especially Jungkook contributes a lot when it comes to the video since he has a personal interest in that field. He has filmed and edited a few videos, Golden Closet Films, following their workdays.
They got popular in america after bbmas 2017 . They probably shot in america because they were going to do the kinetic manifesto film which had the lab dancers in it.
It's not actually his little sister. Koreas use honorifics from oppa, noona, hyung, auntie etc which basically means they refure as everyone as if they are related. Like a little girl calling a older lady grandma. Tae had called the little girl Dongsang which means little sibling so the subs translated as such.
I learned a lot from your reaction. Love your reaction so much! Thank u 🙏 Next vdo recommendation is Daechwita. And it hasa shooting sketche too. Looking forward to your next vdo
I love how you see beauty in equipment.😉😁🤩🤣🧡💛🤩 3:43 for a honest minute I thought you were speaking of the boat or the frame. I know RM or RM’s fashion didn’t even crossed your mind. It did take 2021 and change to create it.
Also the wall also makes me think of AOT references (Attack on Titan), which they have referenced once before in an earlier track called "Attack on Bangtan". AOT gives it a whole different interpretation once more.
BTS has a HUGE team behind them so all of the big production like MV and storyline planning and stuff is done by HYBE (big hit). They might pitch ideas and all but most of it is done by HYBE and the same thing goes for the BU. Bang si-hyuk aka. Hitmanbang (their CEO/mentor) is the BIG BRAIN behind most of their psychological concepts (he also studied psychology).
The cameraman does have a choreography to follow because even at the award shows each member knows in advance when the camera will spotlight him As far as the members involvement in the script and the plot of each video, it only goes as far as the music/lyrics they wrote. The song may be based on Carl Jung's theories or like in Dionysus, a greek god, but it is the creative directors and writers that develop the MV'S. BTS receives the script and direction from them. I have to say that the CEO of Big Hit's ( P.D. Bang) has a degree in Esthetics. From early on he hired some of the best minds thst wanted the creative freedom to bring this kind of quality. Many of the original staff from 7 or 8 years have remained with the corporation and I believe this reflects Bang's desire to give creative license to his creators, including the band.
Lumpers the production team of the MVs are with them from begining so they understand each other, like you said camera man knows choreo, knows where members will be and how they would move, etc. And if we are talking about concept they all work together but a lot is from art team they know all BTS wideos, know all eastreggs, know how to make fans wild with teories, know BU, etc. Band members contribute if they want or have some idea but usually they leave story building, symbols, etc to team that focus on this things, so the sens of stories is keept. When they film they get storyboard for thier character in MV and they know story but don't know final effect and how much is put in MV and how sceans are working together. That why they say they don't know.
You should watch On Kinetic Manifesto and its making of. It's the choreography video but you see how they filmed it with drones and all. I think you'll find it interesting.
Watch Black Swan MV! It has 3 short behind the scenes clips. Also, the members were the most involved in the entire process of the BE album they made during Covid. Life Goes On is the best example from it (and as others have said in the comments JK directed it). They uploaded a brainstorming session of the BE album when they came up with the title "Life Goes On." It's just them sitting in a room discussing, but it was interesting. Also agree with other's mentions of Save Me and I Need You.
I hope you'll do the other version of On - Kinetic Film Manifesto. The camera work is to die for. It's very simple visually but I'd love to hear your analysis.
Suga - Daechwita - it will blow your mind (it is like a movie!). It is one of member BTS (but 2 of them appear for seconds in video). Suga was wrote music, lyrics, and knew how he want to video be. He fight for a lot of details. Watch it and how it was made or interview from set. Greetings from Tricity in Poland!
Would love to see you react to ON kinetic manifesto film also. It was filmed at a Dam in LA and it included a band. There's a behind the scene for that as well.
I think what they meant by shooting it for more than a week is that it took them so long including the on:kinetic manifesto film which is a different version of the mv for this song
They're always involved on the process of the videos and all, I think Jimin talked about his part specifically because all though Tae says that he's was looking forward for our theories, every solo part clicks and connects except Jimin's part 😂😂😂 so, I do believe he was looking at the story board during the reunions and nodding his head like "yeah a kid on the truck uhum and drums ok..." 😂😂😂

"The cameraman has his own choreography with the dancing." 100%. Watch Save Me MV and behind the scenes, best example of this. As to members involvement in music videos and concepts: I think it's changing from MV to MV. They obviously have a whole production team working with them and numerous creatives and artists, so it's not all them, but they probably provide some input. But then, for the Life Goes On MV, one of the members, Jungkook was directing it, and the concept was developed by BTS themselves.
Definitely agree with this. Save Me behind the scenes is inspiring to watch based on the filmmaking dedication alone.
The fact they filmed save me in just one shot is amazing

@@LoveTheBasics the only problem might be that the English subbed version vanished off TH-cam a couple of years ago. There’s one with no subs, one with Turkish subs and others reacting to the English subbed one. May have to do without or watch it elsewhere.
@@kemipue The MV or shooting sketch? Bangtan Subs has the shooting sketch with english subs. I just looked it up.
@@LoveTheBasics Here's the link to the bangtan subs english version for the shooting sketch to Save Me, if you do watch it 🙂

@@morganmariex the shooting sketch
You should definitely react to Spring Day, Black Swan and Not Today. Those music videos are sooo pretty
Stay gold too it has amazing sets
HEARTBEAT ALSO🤗🤗
I love your user name 💕
She was protected from seeing the hardships and suffering in a barren and war torn place
while rebirth and new growth shown when her blindfold was removed.
"I was shunned from the village but everyone cares about me"
That is insane. BTS & ARMY actually got cast out of the kpop community by fans. Literally. We get an insane amount of hate but even though they pushed us out, they still care about us and know everything that's going on.
Man I love that.
Thank you for the reaction!
You probably don't know it yet, but Jungkook (one of the members) makes his own travel short film (Golden Closet Film), and directed one of their MV, "Life Goes On." I recommend, you may like them :)
I also think that the videos and MV from the "BU" series may be interesting for you from a cinematic point of view, especially "Wings short films 1-7", but it's best to watch chronologically from "I need You".
Ohhh haha
Thank you!!
I love your reactions 💜
Alex: Look at that... beautiful
Me: Yeah even that rusty boat look so gorgeous
Alex: I'm talking about the Camera
Me: *Oh*
Loving this series of bts videos... Its a rabbit hole and its never ending. Ty for your unique take on the videos.
Just like actors often don't know the whole story of their movie before watching the final version of it ;)
I enjoy your genuine reactions with passion and curiosity as a filmmaker🎥
And also, your reactions help me to discover many different aspects of the MV.
5:15 I know fog is your thing
No fog no atmosphere
😁🤩😄🤣😉
We can see that Big Hit and Lumpens have seriously filmed and produced super quality music video. Their MV are comparable to any movie except they're shorter and accompanied by superb singing, rapping and choreography. This shows that Big Hit and BTS are very passionate about their crafts and arts.
Answer for you're question :
The members usually help the company by composing the songs and write lyrics. The BE album was fully made by them and the life goes on video was directed by jungkook ( the youngest member) but we don't know if they gives ideas about the mv shooting 😊
Thanx for explaining behind the scenes you're reactions is entertaining 🤍
I don't know why but I really likes to watch your reactions again & again.
That dove was like, "call the ambulance! But not for me".
Their MVs are actually shot by a korean company called Lumpens. This company grew together with BTS’ own agency.
Ur right. The camera man needs to know most of not all their movements so he can match the camera movements and that’s hard😂
Now i really think you're gonna like "I need U full version" and "Run" those were back in 2015 before wings when their budget wasn't big so they used lots of outside sets and stuff
I really love how you explained us the small/hidden details every sketch video they have! Thank you!
Spring day from BTS has a message and story. You'd like that one too. Also Mic Drop is a good one too. The transitions are awesome
This wasn't when they were 'starting " in usa. They've had fand and concerts in usa since 2014 and been on tv and such since 2017. This came out in 2020, they filmed it the week they went to the Grammys
omg u should do i need u, run, and spring day another of their cinematic style music videos bcs its a part of their storyline:)
V and RM are the more artsy ones when it comes to books, paintings,etc.. and Jimin the least haha he has a hard time following the themes sometimes haha
But they are extremely busy all the time, so they usually put the same amount of details and references in their songs and let their stuff match that with visuals
Hope you react next to 'not today' Mv & Mv shooting.
they do have control of music videos story, sets, concepts etc but most of it is done by the production team/director. i think they know somewhat their role/characters individual role but they dont know everything until they see the finished music video like how jungkook said his part about being banned from the village but jimin said hes not sure what the story is and that he'll see it when its done.
they will add things here and there like ask to wear sunglasses or hats or add fake tattoos or will ask to film something a different way if they dont like the way they look even add their own ideas to how a scene is filmed etc
however LIFE GOES ON music video is directed by jungkook the youngest member. and the concept of the album BE which life goes on is part of that album was done majority by the members as in music, lyrics, production, music video, story, concepts etc they did live streams and showed us the album process and their ideas for the music video as well as the album concept photos etc
they mostly focus on the music portions of their content but will contribute to album/music video process here and there i think life goes on was the most they contributed for music video and concept but thats because they always say the music is their main priority.
when it comes to solo music videos they contribute more to the concept cause its what they want done for their solo work example suga aka agust d and his song/music video daechwita.
hope this helps you understand every song, album, music video, concept, era, etc is different they dont have 1 way of doing things or one set of rules or set contributions. each time they release new music they determine who does what its always a different process depending on what they want to accomplish. that goes for line distribution, roles in music videos, screen time, who writes what lyrics, who sings or dances what parts etc etc everything is done project to project no limits and no set process.
You should also try reacting to the other version of this song On kinetic manifesto filmed also in LA
9:03 actually the girl’s name Rina Johnson and she’s a child actress. Here she plays the lost sister of Taehyung for the mv
So so glad I found this page which pays so much attention to the details
I wanted to mention On isnt their first single after wings.
After wings they have 3 albums of Love yourself :her, tear and answer. Then they have the duology of Map of the soul , persona and 7. You are watching the lead song of map of the soul 7 album.
I love your reactions, its interesting bc I learn more about BTS effort in their MVs
I really love the way you analyze everything than just showing your reaction to it. I love the way you go into details. 💜💜
He missed namjoon’s joke about being “OFF” 😂
Recently they have been more involved in their MVs.
Lol, guy drooling over camera set up. Love seeing a dedicated artist
"The camera guy has his own choreography" you gotta see save me and the shooting sketch for it
It's not actually his little sister. Koreas use honorifics from oppa, noona, hyung, auntie etc which basically means they refure as everyone as if they are related. Like a little girl calling a older lady grandma. Tae had called the little girl Dongsang which means little sibling so the subs translated as such.
I swear to God I love your reaction, comment/reviews & explanation on every MV. I don't mind at all if you pause to much btw. I love it. 😄
I learned a lot from your reaction. Love your reaction so much! Thank u 🙏
Next vdo recommendation is Daechwita. And it hasa shooting sketche too. Looking forward to your next vdo
you should check out their MV Idol, it's a feast for the senses
I love how you see beauty in equipment.😉😁🤩🤣🧡💛🤩
3:43 for a honest minute I thought you were speaking of the boat or the frame.
I know RM or RM’s fashion didn’t even crossed your mind.
I’m personally fanboying his hair.
It’s fascinating
That gear would be saved in your arch. 😉🤣🤩💛🧡😄
It s cool that after a flood we will not have to re built technology thanks to your saving.
It did take 2021 and change to create it.
Also the wall also makes me think of AOT references (Attack on Titan), which they have referenced once before in an earlier track called "Attack on Bangtan". AOT gives it a whole different interpretation once more.
i realized that u wear the same shirt but in diff colors. love them lol
Thank you!! They’re actually my own shirts. I’m about to release them
BTS has a HUGE team behind them so all of the big production like MV and storyline planning and stuff is done by HYBE (big hit). They might pitch ideas and all but most of it is done by HYBE and the same thing goes for the BU. Bang si-hyuk aka. Hitmanbang (their CEO/mentor) is the BIG BRAIN behind most of their psychological concepts (he also studied psychology).
5:30 jungkooks smile is the cutest
The cameraman does have a choreography to follow because even at the award shows each member knows in advance when the camera will spotlight him
As far as the members involvement in the script and the plot of each video, it only goes as far as the music/lyrics they wrote.
I've got a lot of new knowledge watching this. Thank you
Funny you mention Marvel, one of the studios that worked on Marvel movies worked on this MV as well.
I am watching all your reactions. You are so accurate in your comments
They also react to their own mv and watching it you can learn a few things and it very fun and u can see on how they view their Mv’s.
I suggest Save Me! Very simple but so cool
I live watching your reactions! Thank you for reacting to more BTS 💜 I would love to see you react to the storyline!
This is Itsisaiahy from tiktok and you're killing the youtube game man! Keep it up :)
Thank you so much!!!!
You should watch On Kinetic Manifesto and its making of. It's the choreography video but you see how they filmed it with drones and all. I think you'll find it interesting.
Yes, you should go in order so you can see how they started! I would love to know your thoughts on their growth. Love your reactions!
I suggest spring day! That music video is a masterpiece.
They have a history, and his history is created by Bang PD, the Creator of BTS
I hope you'll do the other version of On - Kinetic Film Manifesto. The camera work is to die for. It's very simple visually but I'd love to hear your analysis.
Let's do the BTS Universe!! Come on!! I am looking forward to your interpretation of the short films from the Wings Era!!
