Your word has spread! Since you used the balloon technique at the Hoover tournament, everyone was doing it last Saturday. The last 2 trips there we did ok with dinks on stingers. I personally have never tried it. I can seen this on lakes or ponds with a breeze. Fished a deep diving crankbait bouncing bottom and got the skunk off! Does size of balloon make a difference on hooks ups? I know too big would be ridiculous. Just wondering. Thank ya Sir!
I don’t think balloon size really matters. Just need the balloon big enough to float the bait.

I caught a flat head this weekend that was a lil bigger than the first blue u got in this video and man i thought he was a lot bigger the way he fought and the take down was insane!! It was def a good fight and more fun than some of the bigger fish i have caught!!

What you experienced is called a barge bite . Some reason or another seems you always get hit when a big barge or boat comes past gets the fish going for a short period.

Helicopter's don't scare the crap out of you. Here on Lake Texoma, fighter aircraft from Altus Air Force Base fly over the lake just above treetop high. You don't hear them coming, they are just suddenly there and it will scare the crap right out of you. Usually fly in pairs but sometimes there is three. I have waved at the 2nd one and seen him wave back and sometimes even wave with the rocking of the wings. They dang sure get your attention though.
Been watching you for years and finally got a kayak yesterday it's a Bonafide RS117 going to add a trolling motor to it.
I was trolling around in my boat around a reservoir seen alot of catfish along the bank they were shallow

i been going back in the vault watching some of your old vids and seen one where you were shinner fishing for largemouth. i got a book called advanced shinner fishing techniques by Roland Martin i got to have dinner with him once down in Okeechobee Florida it was a experience i will never forget and the conversation too. all he did was talk about dang old turkey hunting. he autographed my book too and a napkin from the dinner we were at. my neighbor was a Alabama game warned and somehow knew him. ill never forget that night and the fishing on Okeechobee was super great too highly recommend staying in the canals though the hydrilla was a big problem back then and u needed like 150hp motor with weedless prop to get out on the big water. lol ask me how i know #spunprop

i've got a question about a blue catfish setup i just bought a ten foot penn squadron 3 spinning rod and considering using 20 pound mono should i use 40 or 50 pound monofilament leader line when catching big bluecats.

I may be trying the balloon method tomorrow on a lake we have never fished, assuming there will be a thermocline so I think suspending above the thermocline will be what we do for a while.
It should work great in thermocline conditions
Hey Justin, can you please show me how to tie a setup for a fast moving river? probably less than half a mile from the damn. I don't have a boat and would love to get some catfish outside of the deep holes.
I would just tie a normal Carolina rig with a heavier sinker to keep it down

If the purpose of Dewey's fly is to act like a baitfish swiming around your bait, why not replace it with a live small bait instead of the stinger. I don't think I have ever seen a live/cut bait combo. He, if the bites slow one day.....
I have done it but usually the live bait gets wrapped up around the cut bait.
