    Jimi, you may not realize it, but you are becoming one of the preeminent fishin' guys. Your style, presentation manner and knowledge are really coming through stronger and stronger. Keep up the great work. We are with you!

      Yes sir! Appreciate the words, means a lot. It was hard at first to talk to a camera and get used to this. I told myself to get better with each video… I go back to some of my early video and I cringe… but you learn a lot! Jonny had faith in me and pushes me too 🤣 - Jimi.

      I agree 100% when he first popped up on the e channel I though I was on the wrong page but man it’s awesome to see him develop his skills as a informer. I’ve watched him go from stumbling over his words to flowing smoothly with the occasional hiccup. You can tell he’s always truly excited to make the videos. The only thing I wish they would incorporate into the show is a pro who can talk about fishing bayous and swamps. Bcuz where I live that’s what we fish!! The Atchafalaya is a Beast!!

      Appreciate it! I have more confidence with every video and words like this help for sure!
      We still may bring in some pros with different backgrounds as the channel grows! I have a lake / river system nearby that can be close to a swamp… I have not spent near the time out there like I used too.
      Appreciate you watching - Jimi 🤙🏽

    You had me at jigs!!! Summer is the best time for big jigs for sure. I like to drag a 3/4 flipping jig because of all the vegetation we have. I can use a brown football jig in a few spots that have clean bottom and I catch tons of fish with both types. If you have trouble fishing a jig just keep it simple. Use a brown, green, or blue jig depending on conditions/clarity and buy a pack of craw baits for trailers like Christie Craws or Rage Craws. Then cast it out, let it sink to the bottom, and drag it slowly along with rod sweeps to the side and reel up the slack. Repeat all the way back to the boat/bank. When you feel a bite, reel down and set the hook like you're trying to snatch that fish's dentures out!

    Hey Jimi... To answer your question on brushpiles, I havent had much luck with the swinghead in brush either... But a texas rigged creature bait tends to slam them in brush piles for me.

    • @BassFishingDeclassified
      @BassFishingDeclassified  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Texas rig is just a staple for the brush. Even in a recent trip, I tried other baits.... go back to texas rig and boom! - Jimi

    @Gr8one76 ปีที่แล้ว

    I struggle with jigs, I think mainly because of where I fish mostly it's really grassy. Definitely want to try that swing head jig that's texas rigged... hopefully that'll produce some fish in my areas. Tight lines y'all! 🤙

    the warmouth on a wobble head is a good choice. I have done this for a couple years. it WAS my secret. hehe. looks like its got out.

    Creek arms where I fish are loaded with with small blue gill right now. I had some success this week on a swim jig in blue gill color with keitech trailer around blow downs. Gonna try heavier football jig this week and stay closer to the bottom like you all are saying. Good video.

    It might sound stupid but I've just never seemed to have luck anywhere around me (Michigan) with jigs. Everyone else seems to have huge confidence in them. I have had far more success with many different presentations, and always assumed I was doing some things wrong with jigs. Thanks for the tips, I lose sleep when I can't seem to dial in a technique as simple as a jig lol.

      I'm in the same boat! Figuratively speaking LOL. Michigan here as well, and I have never had any luck with jigs. I bought a whole bunch of jigs and crap last night. I'm gonna give it another go. The fish have really slowed down after spring and I need to figure something out.
      I've never had any luck with frogs either. Have you? I've tried all different kinds and techniques, with no luck... EVER. I catch all kinds of fish with top water lures, but never caught a single fish with a frog. ✌️

    Another great video, keeping it real. I lost my swing head jigs w/ biffle bugs and some nice Colorado single blade black/blue spinnerbaits last weekend in rocks or laydowns at DHL, replacements arrived Thursday! I will try the bluegill on the swing head jig tonight.

      I tried… got on the water at 10pm, fished the swing head with warmouth and Colorado sprinnerbait, Nothing, water was hot at 84, put a magnum curly tail purple worm on the swing head at about midnight, got a 19in largemouth, turned loose several 19s and a 17. All on a 10in worm on swing jig. 18 to 20ft. Lost two nice ones, fumbling with lights and trying to get the net by myself but that woke me up. Stayed till daylight and in an open bay , 70 ft of water, bass busting surface chasing shad. Cast a whopper plopper in center of a splash and got a 19in smallmouth. Great night!

      hahaha you want to know what is funny... I kept that spoon bite quiet for almost a month before I let it out.... The funny part is.... in our Frog vs Punching video... I go over my punch rod and it had the spoon on it. I even said do not worry about this right now I may talk about it later... If my friends down in this part of the country would of watched it... they would of known ... - Jimi

    Hmmm, @7min, you have me wondering if maybe using my old frogging hooks could be re-purposed and used on a swing head jig? Maybe using a white toad skewered on those double hooks??
