as someone who has been following PQ's development for a few years now, i will say this: its not flawless, its had quite a few periods where the game wasn't fun at all pre-release. however, in the state it is in now, i can safely say the game is fun, albeit requiring a specific taste in games to enjoy. if you've played similar games and are looking for something that twists/experiments with the genre, go ahead, you'll love it. however, on the contrary, if you aren't familiar with rougevanias, id recommend playing similar games first. namely Dead Cells for the rougevania genre and any Top-down shooter rougelike (the obscure-yet-fun "Voidigo" would be my pick) for the familiarity. if you have played both dead cells and the top-down of your choice and enjoied both, i'd say get this game.
