I began to name my mind-speak “Rosie”and addressing her often with corrections and guidance when she was going amuck, being overly fearful or negative or critiquing situations in some nasty little form! Rosie and I have become friends for she knows that there is a limit to what I will put up with and she’s minding her p’s and q’s! Beautiful world keep spinning with love…
I have been aware of my spirituality since the age of 11 but probably couldn’t have put a name to it. Bought and read the Power of Now over 10 years ago plus many other similar types of books. But 3 years ago I read The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Dr Joseph Murphy and everything pinged resonated and came together. I’m sure Eckhart would agree with the advice therein and this book has completely changed my life. I am more relaxed understanding patient forgiving loving and present in every moment. I am a new person. Thank you so much for these spiritual teachers everywhere.

I think he's the only person on the planet who has come up with the true answer to all humanity's problems but most people are unconscious. In the future they will see it. In ancient times he would have been called a prophet like Jesus because he has the kind of knowledge only prophets have and the way he teaches it is also like a pure person would. An amazing man because the Universe chose him to deliver its message.
He is not the only one I think . Schopenhauer Jesus Ancient Indians Zen Madam Guyon.. And other people . They are all CONSCIUSNESS. They are all the same ONE. WE are the same ONE. Fortunately Tolle is speaking us NOW.

Schopenhauer explained in details what Consciousness is ( " The world as representation and will " about 2000 pages which are very clear about Consciousness) Ramana M. also was very clear about it. Anyway you are right Tolle has a gift for teaching us with a very simple but very powerful language what is PRESENCE/CONSCIOUSNESS.I love so much Tolle for that.
Jesus told Nicodemus that one must be born again. Nicodemus asked how can a man return to his mother's womb and be again born. Jesus replied, "You must be born again of the spirit." I'm quite convinced I've been born again in this way. I'm a very spiritual and intuitive person and even as I child I sensed someone looking out for me that I couldn't see. It has always been a great comfort.
Consciousness is so crazy where you see yourself however you see yourself. It's up to me, up to all of us, to use truth for good. Well, that's at least how I see it, myself ;O)p
Standing in line v. Serious issue is very different. Understand chattering mind problem. If can do nothing just accept, is logical but not easy emotionally.... key is how this makes better decisions and actions in very difficult situations or crises. Listened to many ET talks, but still working towards realisation. Am I the only one? A process? Everyone says how good, but are they doing it?
Hi Andrew, my ability to "do it" comes and goes. Often times I become lost in my internal mental dialog, lose awareness, and then start to suffer. Once my pain (usually sadness/anxiety felt in the pit of my stomach) becomes too much, it forces me back into present moment awareness/watching my breath. This seems to be the only way for me to alleviate the emotional pain I feel. Good luck! Jay

Like Eckarte says, ask yourself “What’s my next thought going to be?” I find this one of the easiest ways to get out of thought and watch out for any future thoughts, like having a thought security guard.
