- GMC DW 950 truck is out with new Old-timers DLC. Let's pit it against our tried and tested 4x6 champion truck C-256 aka Kraz 256 to see if this sovient monster still the 4x6 champion.

I’m from Ukraine, where this KRAZ trucks are made and gonna tell you a little fact about it. During the Cold War literally all of the soviet factories were made so, that you could turn them into military production in a couple of hours (that’s why famous “Belomorkanal” cigarettes had a diameter of 7.62 mm - just like the caliber of famous AK-47 ammo). KRAZ trucks those times were made for exploitation in tough terrains and regions such as Taiga or deserts, which mostly had NO roads at all (just like 90% of USSR, lol). What did they do there? Military service! Despite that fact, that KRAZ trucks where positioned as hard working, durable and condition-resistant utility vehicles for farming and industry works, they really were made for installation of “Grad” and other missile complexes. That’s why they had great torque and pass-abilities. Hope it was interesting. Whoever is gonna read this, have a nice day!

Anybody else think that the Old Timers DLC was rushed a bit? The Napco is FWD out of 4, and the Russian attachments for the GMC don't fit the on truck at all.

The napco thing, doesent bother me much, but the russian attachments really grinds my gears, I can understand it if its only for non-owners of american wilds but if I have the bloody DLC i want american attachments for my GMC.

@@X3MT они на Уралах были по военному заказу. А Краз проектировался с учетом быстрой домобилизации при необходимости. Т.е., при возникновении обширных боевых действий все Кразы очень быстро могли стать в ряды военных платформ для неуправляемых и управляемых ракетных комплексов. Там, даже, кузов отбрасывался в первых моделях одним рычагом. Потом сделали на отжиме контргаек.

@@ldSt3345 the reason i said Russia, because they use them, and because they have sea. Also because Ukrain was part of the Soviet Union when Kraz lived it's golden age. I could even say Hungary, because we use them in the army, too!
@@barnykirashinot an excuse. Now KrAZ-6322 is one of the most unkillable and mass army trucks, that is being sold to a huge bunch of countries. Now the KrAZ's age is pretty golden, too.

was just playing around with the c-256 last night and started wondering why i haven't used it before. it can get a lot done despite not having 6x6 or offroad wheels
I got a soft spot for the old GMC. I feel like it outperforms the Ford LTL9000 and the Chevy Bison, though I haven't tested empirically. And it doesn't fare too badly against the champion Kraz really.

We need this, a fight against the C-256 is no fight at all, russian trucks are specially made for poorer enviroments so they will always win off road and in torque.

no, it's a 2x3... in technical terms, 4-by-6 (4x6) and 6-by-4 (6x4) is saying the same thing. 6x4 is actually the common syntax slang and 4x6 is uncommon but is not wrong.

@@vladvulcan look for yourself it a slang marking term. there no "actual technical terminology" or "definitions". it is made up!!! 4x2 and 2x4 literally mean the same thing... the term has been used both ways throughout it's marking. technical shorten term would be 2WD (not 4x2). in "actual technical terminology" 4X4 is the only one with a definition that supports it. the right way to say it ... it's more common in the automotive world to use the term 4x2 over 2x4.

Try out the Kamaz 5511. It is an uncertified mod, but very capable.

They’re actually called 6x4 trucks. It’s based on the number of wheels total by the number of wheels being driven. Great video tho.

Well I'd say the GMC is certainly more capable then the American Wilds trucks, but it looks like the C-256 is still king in it's class.

you are comparing apples to oranges here. the GMC is a on highway unit and was by no means designed for this type of abuse as the Kraz was. that GMC was probably made until the really early 60's if that, as that Kraz was made way longer. the GMC also made in between 150-200 HP depending on how it was spec'd, some low as 120 HP. Also it's 6x4 not 4x6.

I don't get why the GMC struggles in offroad while the Kraz doesn't, both it and the Kraz look like they're both road trucks.
not quite right... the kraz is made as an all terrain truck (Irl)
if you want to drive on the streets you put street tires on it and if you wanna go offroad you put offraod tires on it.

lets say those tires would brake pretty fast irl. and the grip id reduced. but the truck itself with its outstanding offroadperformance could still go through every shit
In complete honesty, aside from the scout cars (and even then, it's mostly Napco now) I see no reason to ever use the American vehicles. Sure, they might be fast, but that has absolutely no value to me. The Bison is falsely claimed to be a powerhouse (in the promotional material. The vehicle introductions.) When it's weak as all hell. The American trucks are a novelty for me, nothing more. If I have the choice, I'll pick anything else. Also, the turn radius for the GMC is E-type wide. It does NOT make tight turns.

This game relies on Russian vehicles too much and makes the Russian rigs more efficient than what they actually are. The Western Star 6900 is a bad ass logging truck in reality compared to the games version of it

i can tell you those things just go through muddy terrain no problem. I drive a kraz 255 or 260 in eastern europe and you will know what i mean ;D
@@derpmaniak7823 the game nerfs the actual capabilities of the American vehicles. The H1 hummer on the game has the water proof inline 6 diesel in it and it easily gets stuck on the maps. They nerf tf outta the American rigs. And my brother bought a kraz 225 and it got stuck the first time he took it mudding. So the Russian rigs ain't as big and bad as the game says

The GMC is soooo cool looking, but man is it useless on anything outside of paved roads or hard packed dirt.
