  • Was out running some errands in Carmel after work when, out of nowhere, I received an alert on my phone that there was a tornado warning in Hendricks, Marion, and Boone county. EAS came over the radio shortly after and thats when I learned that it was a confirmed tornado. Decided to head west to see if I could catch a glimpse of it. As I pulled into downtown Zionsville, I received another alert that the warning had been updated. No sooner did I hit record on my phone did the STH-10 a block away wind up. I pulled over and recorded most of the activation. Drove up under the siren afterwards to catch the rest of the wind down.
After this, I knew I was in the precipitation core and I had to keep heading west if I wanted to see anything. From what I was hearing on the radio and seeing on radar, I drove through the path probably about 5 minutes before it came through and did some minor damage. Caught parts of 2 more siren activations while I was high tailing it out of there. Saw some rotation but, due to a lack of separate devices for radar and video and trees and corn that's ready to be harvested, never actually saw a funnel. Followed the storm all the way up to Tipton and passed through some decent tree damage north of Zionsville.
