I am a 17 year old girl watching all of your videos. You are so inspiring. I am fascinated with organization and you are my reference whenever I feel like things need to be taken care of. Thank you for all of your advice!
Hi, I love your videos! You have inspired me to reorganize my house. So far I've tackled my bathroom cabinet and it's sad but I stood there when I was done and just smiled. It was such a great feeling to have it done and know that I can now maintain it! I have also started an organization planner, year goals, month goals etc. Thank you for that idea. Today working on my dresser drawers...speaking of which, I gotta get back to work!! Thanks again!
Thank you Jen, for the time you spend for us! The last Years I'am worked a lot, often 12 h a day. It is no problem, because I' love my Job. But now I'am pregnant and must stay at home. First I was a little bit scared, but now I'am very excited. Your videos give me the inspiration what I can do the next month.
I found myself nodding in agreement during the whole video! I feel exactly the same as you do. If my environment is clean and organized, I feel calmer and cleaner. It just makes my feel good. My fiancee, for example, loves an organized space but he's unable to get motivated and keep it that way. It's hard for him but he's really trying his best. But baby steps go a long way, right? Jen, you are really my hero, Keep on doing the great job.
Awesome video, Jen, as usual. I checked Ayesha's blog when you first answered her questions but listening to you talking about it is just terrific. Thank you for your time, your pieces of advice are so useful and common sense.
Thank you for the reminder, Jen! I've let a certain area of my clean house get pretty dirty and I'm always stressing out about it. If I just take the 10-15 minutes to just take care of the mess, I know I'll feel better. Stress reduction is my motivator! :)
Great video! Lots of tips Im going to follow. Heres my questions: 1. How do you keep to your times? I have to use an egg timer with an alarm to remind me what I need to do (ie put the dinner on). I get side tracked doing other things. 2. What crafts do you do? 3. How did you study at College? Im starting a course soon and would love some advice.
Yes - I agree about the cheaper stores. What I have learned from you is to be sure to measure first! That helped me so much when I went to W'Mart to get what I needed for a certain space. Thanks! Laundry day is what I was hoping for, too! And, of course you shouldn't answer personal questions, which shouldn't be asked in the first place. You're a jewel. Thanks again.
Love your videos!! You are so inspiring! I am pretty organized , and love to see how others organize their homes. You have given me so many ideas. Love your taste in decorating!! Would love to see that laundry video!!
I've followed you for a couple months and just found this video- was scared at the length but you have a way to keep me engaged and motivated! Love your organization videos and watch your other handle as well!
A viewer question/answer tag would be great! What are the top things you would recommend in getting started organizing in general? Most helpful thins from the Container Store?
Our personalities are so much a like. Good thing I don't have a Container Store near me! Instead I rely on BBandB and Target for my organizational components. 1. What is your cleaning routine like? Your house is always so beautiful and put together. 2. Do you ever get tired of traveling so much? I am a complete homebody and don't know how you do it! You are completely adorable and I love watching your videos. Even when they are 42 min long. ;)
I love your videos. They continue to keep me motivated. Although it still looks like a bomb went off in my craft room, I tackle it in small sections at a time on an almost daily basis(because I want my space neat and tidy like yours...lol). I would also be interested to know how you keep up with everything that needs to be done on a daily, weekly, monthly basis. Do you follow a schedule, and if you do, would you consider sharing it with us. I need all the help that I can get! Thanks!!!
@seiramnomad I kind of figured you couldn't really apply for that until you had tens of thousands of subscribers. I think the main reason I would do it would be to finally have a cute banner for my channel page and a personalized background. Of course, I have no graphic art talent so I don't know how I'd work that out, but I don't think it will happen for awhile.
I would love to hear your cleaning routine as well...your favortie products and how you organize them etc. I recently lost power for 7 days due to hurricane Irene and all I cared about was getting the power back on so I could vacuum LOL I often find what comes with being well organized, is being a clean freak :-) which I am completely!! BTW- I love all your videos and am thankful for the time you put into them.
@zSeher87 Sometimes you have to just let people be themselves even if it conflicts with you being yourself. Sounds like your hubby compromised by actually using the bins, even if not to your liking. It's better to have contained random messes than just total chaos, right?
@justforupdates Sounds like you've found a system that really suits you, which is great! Not everything works for everyone and it's crucial to pinpoint what works for you and actually use it.
Thanks for answering these questions! They were so useful :) I will definitely be checking out Ayesha's blog too! I also love your watch, where's it from? :) x
I find watching one of your videos is my motivator! :) Seriously! Heading to the basement right now, My motto for the day is ...NO MORE CARDBOARD BOXES!...I have two more to go through and put in tubs or throw away!
@justforupdates (Part 4) for example I planned to read my Nursing books. I am that type of person that if I'm not motivated or if i'm overwhelemed, I procastinate the plan (which is wrong) and to avoid that, I assign just 1 chapter a day until I finish the book. for such plans, I make my weekends my free day just so I don't stress/overwhelm myself too much
I would love for you to address ways to stop buying stuff because other people have it. I've spent so much money over the years buying stuff that I didn't really need and didn't even use just because someone else had it or said it was great. Now, our small apartment is filled to the brim and I hate getting rid of any of it because of all the money I spent/wasted! How do you suggest I stop being influenced in this way???
@justforupdates (Part 2) I watched a YT video (can't remember to whom it is) and her technique is using notebooks only, ordinary notebooks. What she does is she'll write her task for a week/month? basis in a 1 page of notebook then she'll right the objectives or how she'll do it in the back of the paper. she uses it to evaluate her task if she achieved it or not and what are the reasons for not being able to do it. I was inspired by this.
Another question! Could you do a video on what to keep in your emergency bag...like if there's a hurricane or fire what should be in your bag which you can quickly grab and leave...passport etc. Thanks =)
What motivates you to go the extra mile for home entertaining? Is part of the charm that you get to use and enjoy nice china, decorations etc as well as receive compliments on how beautiful everything is? Do you enjoy going to other people's parties or functions as much as hosting your own?
Longest video ever but I loved it! My question will you film your TTC journey? It's kind of personal and I know I wouldn't. But once you start a family will you go pregnancy vlog on MHWL?
@justforupdates (Part 5) for example: Due on Sept 11 * read the nursing pharmacology book chapters: respiratory drugs cardiovascular drugs endocrine drugs anti-infectious drugs antineoplastic * clean the closet * buy gift for my daughter's birthday * visit my grandparents
(Part 3) My method is, in a small notebook I write on top of the page "due on sept 11" sundays are the due dates) all my tasks for the week in a bulleted form (specific or not).. ideally per line is for a day BUT I DON'T LIMIT MY TASK FOR A DAY that is why I don't put specific dates unless it's a meeting or an appointed in that day, you get what I mean.
@justforupdates (Part 6) If I'm already done with a specific task, I check it or cross it out if felt unfinished and will write the reason for not being able to do it. I will carry that task to my next due week (the next week) and put an " ! " to signify the importance or that is my priority task for that week because I was not able to do it the last week just so I won't left any task unfinished even if it already passed the due date of that task.
@justforupdates (Part 9) I'm a pretty organized person I believe but I just notice this method works for me better that the dated ones.. well of course you can still do this method with the dated planners but this just works for me visually I think I am not overwhelmed.
Do you have any advice for couples where one person is very organized and the other isn't? I'm in charge of the whole house cleaning except my husband's study area...which is always piled with stuff! He doesn't like it when I clean it but lets me from time to time. I gave him bins but he just stuffed all of them with random stuff, lol
(Part 1) Jen I always love your videos!!! This is my new YT account though :) Sorry, I'm about to write an essay here cause I just want to share my method too .. here it goes! haha As of the present, I organize my task in a To-Do-List method. Before, I'm one of those that uses planner (monthy basis worked for me) but I noticed that I don't really finish it until the end of the year, mostly up to the 1st half only and the 2nd half left untoched.. in other works, I don't use it anymore.
@justforupdates (Part 7) Now it is again a form of procastination if you just do it right? so what I do is that I evaluate my to-do-list every end of the week (sunday).. I must at least have done 90% of my due task, if not I will not procastinate anything unless something really important happened that day.
@justforupdates (Part 8) If ever that I have appointments or anything important, fr example it will be due or will happen on october, in separate sheet I write: important notes! *oct 21: meet dr. on october 8am *sept 30: birthday of.... and will fold it in the header or put stickers on it just so I can easily see it. and won't be burried down with my weekly tasks.
Would love q&a. You really share a lot here so totally understand there are things that don't need to be shared with TH-cam. I would like to hear about your anxiety and how it presented in your life. I think many would relate but understand if that's too personal. I too want that nail polish. Is it Zoya Petra?
My mom constantly gives me things that I don't need, especially when we moved into a new house. How do I tell her to STOP without hurting her feelings? I hate clutter!
1- What did you study in college? 2- Do you and you husband plan on having children? 3- I'm not a housewife, so I feel curious about this: Although I know you have a life outside your house, I guess you probably spend a lot of time in your house. You live with your husband and since he has a pretty time-consuming job, don't you feel kind of alone sometimes? I don't mean to be offensive at all, I just want to know how do you manage to have a social life and still be such a gorgeous housewife.
@justforupdates (Part 10) I hope this can help those who wanted to be organized by not an overwhelmingly manner or for those that are disorganized but still wanted to be organized haha if that makes sense. Jen, always continue your videos because you don't have any idea how much you inspired me and all of your subscribers! GOD BLESS ALWAYS!!! :)
sorry to be personal you dont have to answer but are you planning on having kids? if so... when :) because we would love to see your mommy vlogs/pregnancy vids etc etc, imagine the fun!!! xx
maybe have young person help you start an ebay store? assuming youre like me and need grown kids to do techy stuff for you, lol !!!! if not, please have a huge yard sale at best friends house rather than sticking other people with the task of getting rid of everything--meaning u can't take it with you!!

@Mauibumm Check back at PB when the holidays start to roll around. They tend to come out with it for the winter season.
I found myself nodding in agreement during the whole video! I feel exactly the same as you do. If my environment is clean and organized, I feel calmer and cleaner. It just makes my feel good. Would love a laundry day video - what a good idea. Great video as always Jen, love the long ones, it's like I'm watching my favourite tv show!
Great video! Lots of tips Im going to follow.
Heres my questions:

I watched the whole thing and it was well worth it!! Just curious, did my letter make it to your po box?
@makeupisanobsession Haven't checked since I got back from my trip but am going tomorrow and hope to reply to all letters this week :o)
@OurBump Check out my Craft Room videos for desk organization...

@LVHAPPY1 aquarius
Can I ask what you studied in college?
@lilsahsgirlie09 Art History major, Psychology minor
You are awesome!

i think you should be a partner, you deserve it:)
u should be a professional organizer
far too long of a vid for a few minutes of information, you are very social and friendly but this is the Internet
Thank you for the reminder, Jen! I've let a certain area of my clean house get pretty dirty and I'm always stressing out about it. If I just take the 10-15 minutes to just take care of the mess, I know I'll feel better. Stress reduction is my motivator! :)
