    We are happy we met you along the way at the runaway rally but we understand it’s time to move on. Thanks for all the folks along the way you sent to our channel. You have passed us in subscribers. Vary interested in your truck camper. It was never on our radar until we spent this summer in Alaska who knows what our future holds. I can't wait until you fix up the camper to your taste and needs. It is nice being able to be in a/c or heat when the weather gets ugly. I have to admit I did get choked up when I saw her drive away with the Runaway. Susan, good luck and many happy trails!

    Wow! Wow! wow! So happy for you both. What a cool truck camper. It looks brand new. Looks like you guys found a Gem. Yes, it is bitter sweet to see the Runaway leaving the campsite. But so cool there will be new adventures awaiting Susan. She will Love having a Runaway. I can’t tell you how moved I am by your video. I just love how you guys work so hard and appreciate what you have, love watching you clean and fix up your new digs. Even though I own a Runaway I have always felt it is a stepping stone to something larger. When that day comes I hope to find a nice camper as you have. Looking forward to your future videos in your new digs. Keep the good times coming. DP in MD

  • @heidiperry642

    Former Runaway owner and upgraded to a travel trailer. Keep in mind the upper cabinet are secure but the material they are secured to isn’t very thick. Good rule is light stuff in upper cabinets and heavy stuff in lower cabinets. That will also help a bit with a top heavy truck camper. Clean the filters often in the AC. They seem to get dirtier faster that the window type units. Love your upgraded house!

    we have bins that are just a fraction shorter than the opening of the cabinets and we use those over the dinette and over the stove. I wrote with a permanent marker what is in the bins. Makes it easy cuz I can pull them out and they hold enough stuff. I'm not a fan of using any propane unless I am awake including the heater which gets quite warm. We have an oscillating small heater that we put on the kitchen counter for when we have electricity. We use a super duper warm sleeping bag over us at night and we don't need a heater if we don't have electricity but yeah it's kind of cold when you have to get up. When boondocking a few times I just turn the refrigerator off at night and everything was still cold in the morning and then we just turned the propane back on. When I take a shower I sit on the toilet seat cover. The shower head should have a dial on it so you can turn it off while you're washing up with soap to save on water and your gray tank

    You can go on Amazon and get magnets then get your double side tape and put on them also there is slip mats so you can get them to put down on there to where your things like pots and pans won't slide out and of course you know the locks for the cabinets you know all that looks nice I know you're going to be happier in that than you was the other one cuz you can actually stand up in it all right ladies have a great day give Winston a hug for me

    You both will love that big truck camper over the tiny camper. Tiny campers are great but the truck camper. If you’re living full-time in it is just way more room. It’s just a better life for you and you’d be surprised where you can park that thing that happened to have a trailer towed around all the time but it looks like you’ll be towing a golf cart behind it. Is that your golf cart if you can if you’re going to Tow a trailer behind it get an in motion camera for the back of your camper with a screen for your dash inside the truck

    While I'm sad to see the Runaway "run off" under new management (congrats to Susan); for what you both are doing a larger camper was in your future. One thing though, I was hoping to meet you both at the upcoming Runaway reunion next year.

    Newly Updated Safety Suggestions;
    I just happened to see your channel, and others similar channels recently, and I think that you, and others sharing their actual reality, and some have expressed some of the up, and down sides to van, RV, or vehicle living.
    Although, I just noticed your TH-cam channel, and other similar channels.
    You seem Very Aware of your surroundings and Alert, and you may be aware of many of these suggestions, however, I Don’t know, so I just posted this anyway to help anyone who may benefit from these suggestions
    I believe that it is very helpful, and beneficial to others who may be thinking about this type of living without actually thinking through, about the some of the realistic problems that could occur with vehicle or van living etc...
    People need to know what up sides there are, as well as some of the down sides of vehicle living.
    I believe this channel, and other channels have been informative to others, including myself.
    Although, I am NOT living in a vehicle or anything like this.
    I feel that you , and others TH-camrs sharing this with your viewers will be very helpful.
    I wish you ALL the Best with your traveling endeavors.
    I shared this with another traveler as I watched their TH-cam channel for the first time, as yours, and I shared with them this information that may be helpful to you as well to others.
    Therefore, I would also like to suggest a few Safety tips, and items that may help you, or others in your viewing audience.
    Although, you may have knowledge of this already,
    I am not sure, so I hope this will be helpful to you, others or someone.
    *Keep a Extra working cellphone with you or in your vehicle.
    You can purchase inexpensive phone with a very low monthly price between 25, 35, 45, dollars a month with unlimited data and text, and some have Nationwide coverage
    Do your research for the best fit for you
    Carry Several Extra portable phone chargers, and cables.
    Consider theses items:
    *Mini portable power charging station.
    I have also seen outdoor portable solar powered power stations, that can be recharged from sunlight this may be very useful to have, to power your devices.
    *Invest in a Cellular signal booster for outdoor use, and camping situations to boost or amplify your cell signal and reception.
    Research to see what you prefer.
    *Very Inportant:
    Invest in a SOS distress electronic signal device, this a kind of device can send out a distress signal with your exact location.
    There are various types of these devices, and including devices that can be used when boating or camping situations.
    *Some have emergency Strobe lights SOS signaling with location alerts, and location updates that can be sent to your family, and emergency first responders.
    Some can be synchronized with your smart watch or phone.
    You can check online, and on Amazon, research what SOS devices will be a good fit for you.
    *Mini portable vehicle battery jumper charger
    *vehicle battery jumper cables
    *Vehicle Jumper cables
    *Keep a Fire extinguisher handy
    Carbon monoxide detectors can be helpful
    *Mounted Dashboard camera front and rear possibly.
    Exterior vehicle cameras
    Interior vehicle cameras
    *Flashlights or pluggin spotlights
    *Portable spotlights, and lanterns
    Keep a few whistles around with you, and in your vehicle possibly in your vehicle’s center console
    *A set of long range 2 way radios, walkie talkies, to communicate with others during trips, some have 100 mile radius keep for emergencies.
    Use your own discretion regarding the use of any weapons.
    Don’t forget to bring
    Bear Spray
    Pepper spray
    Where is allowed
    If you own a drone you can use it to survey your area for animals etc.
    However, Please Be Safe and Beware of your Surroundings.
    Stay Alert, and Be Safe even when stopping at Rest stops, Truck Stops, and conducting your various tasks.
    Keep in often contact with your family, friends etc.
    Keep up with the latest Weather Updates, beware and prepare for unexpected Weather events and conditions.
    Keep your vehicle gas filled
    Don’t chance your Safety by running your vehicle fuel or gas too close to Empty.
    Fill it up anyway, it will save you alot of time, and headache later on.
    Remember to keep up on routine maintenance, check your tires for wear, keep up with your fluids for your vehicle, like oil levels, washer fluid, brake fluid, antifreeze.
    Remember Because you are on the road riding for sometimes very long distances, and long periods of time, I would suggest investing in 2 sets of tires, and a spare, the extra set to rotate.
    Check the mileage ratings on your tires they all very.
    Conduct visual inspections of your tires often, check for damage, wearing, air pressure, etc
    Keep a pressure gauge to check your tires pressure and a tire pump.
    Keep towing insurance to Be Safe if you ever need it.
    It Doesn’t cost much try to get National coverage if available, or where you will be traveling.
    Keep Extra financing, and savings for any unexpected issues, vehicle repairs, and overnight stays, in a emergency or if you need to rest indoors.
    Keep Enjoying Yourself,
    Keep Enjoying the outdoors, and Nature
    Just..Please continue to
    Be Positive, Safe, and Alert..
    Wishing Success, Well-being and Happiness You All.
    God Bless You, and everyone
    Traveling, or living in their vehicles, Vans, RVs, etc.
    Please Be Safe...

    my dog won't walk on those stairs either; they're common around where I live. The stairs that lead down to the docks are like your entry ones. I always thought it was because he was scared of the water beneath the stairs but seeing Winston not liking them makes me think it's something to do with the holes in the stairs, maybe it feels unstable or something

    Congrats on your new camper and truck. Again, no matter what anyone tells you.....especially in older campers and trailers...never transport with propane on. I live in an 88 Fleetwood Resort 30 ft travel trailer and I actually only have propane on when I'm using it because propane leaks. Even tiny pinhole leaks. Since I started turning valves off when not using stove? I only have to fill my 5 gallon tank twice a year!!! Before I was filling it monthly. So. Have fun and enjoy.😎🏜❤🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🌈🌈🌈🏳️‍🌈 ps: I have an electric water heater.. I only use propane for cooking. If you have a propane water heater? Have hoses checked for leaks.

    • @LivetolearnMama
      @LivetolearnMama ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One way you can check for leaks is to spray soapy water along the hoses, and any leaks will cause it to make bubbles. May be an easy way of locating the leaks, if you haven't tried it already. Also, it's a good idea to have a propane detector, located near the floor, as propane sinks.

    • @honeyiroam
      @honeyiroam  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Thank you! We love all your tips and tricks. The hoses for the propane are all good, and we are sure to turn it off after done using the stove. The fridge will mostly run on DC when we are off grid and in transit. Appreciate the confirmation. Our coworker at our workcamping gig is an expert in all of this so we have been picking his brain! And unfortunately the hot water heater doesn’t work at all so that’s a project we are looking into. Wanted to replace it with another propane but would rather have an electric one…not quite sure what route to go yet

    • @underthetornado
      @underthetornado ปีที่แล้ว

      @@honeyiroam you're better off to go solar /electric just because you can always have hot water without dealing with tank refills and thermo couplings which kept going out on my hot water heater so I finally bypassed it with a 15 gallon electric. But you can totally make it work on a 5 gallon too.

    • @honeyiroam
      @honeyiroam  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@underthetornado thank you for the input. What’s your brand hot water heater? So much research to do! Lol
