    Stumpy Nubs and Mustache Mike team up for the second in a series of weekly videos featuring small projects for the regular workshop. But this isn't another show about building birdhouses and cutting boards (not that there's anything wrong with them :)- Stumpy is showing off his creative side with unique projects you will actually WANT to build!
    This time it's a laptop case that can only be described as a portable workstation- in beautiful maple!.
    Support the show, pick up some plans at ►www.stumpynubs.com

    I like it. I think I would do the whole thing out of the thinnest ply I could manage, and then coat it in leather.

    Good stuff, guys! That's a cool looking case. Your camera work is really getting good, and I felt like this episode did a better job of keeping the pace, and balancing the banter with shop footage.

    I just started designing and building my own case out in the shop and I wanted it to be like the old traveling typewriter cases where I wouldn't have to remove the laptop to use it funny how never seeing this video how similar my case is. I'm doing mitered corners but plan to add dovetail keys out of a contrasting wood. really enjoy your videos. there great to watch and full of great ideas.

    That suprised me James I really originally. Thought it was going to just be a hard case to protect it but with all the extras. It really. Is more like a portable computer desk ! I worked out. Of a van for years and that type of a system. Could had made life easier. Plus in all honesty it looks good i agree on the Birch veneer ply the manufacturers have stepped up their game on using a nicer way of making them and often you can get that to stain. Up real nice i made a entertainment center for. My sisters camper that was all Maple with the birch ply and she was real happy with the finish it was on the opposite wall of all the manufacturers cabinetry And part of the entire build was so the electronics would safely travel in place

    Nice case!
    Loved it and the video effects were uberkewl. I learned that word on the inter-webs.
    Wives tail? Stache was a flower child? Funny stuff fellers.
    Thumbs up and keep them coming guys.
    What else I am going to do on a Friday night?

    Cool idea. No latch to hold it closed? No handle so it can be carried?

    • @StumpyNubs
      @StumpyNubs  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't get the handle and latch ordered in time for the show. But I am going to add it later. The piano style hinge is also going to be swapped out for some regular brass hinges.

    Nice idea... my brain sets to wondering about legs that fold out of the bottom... and then a seat that folds out of them!
    I'm interested to see where you go next!

    Thanks for a great project. Wish the videos were dated. It would made it easier to find the latest video.

    • @StumpyNubs
      @StumpyNubs  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's no date in the title, but there is a number- both in the title, and the thumbnail image for each video. And if you go to the main channel page, they are in order of newest to oldest. Besides, our website homepage lists the latest episode of all of our woodworking podcasts.

    watch out for overheating due to no airflow to the bottom where most of the fans draw air to cool the system.

  • @datawolftech
    @datawolftech 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    What do to keep air circulation to keep it cool

    • @StumpyNubs
      @StumpyNubs  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a cutout on the side where the fan intake is located to allow free airflow.
