Hi Sam…You’re making really good progress on the new road. We have our share of Hickory Trees here as well 🤦🏼♂️. They burn good, pain in the rump getting them out though , Lol. You have some good looking Pups there Buddy 👍🏻. As always, Thank you for sharing the Message. I appreciate what you’re doing Boss ! Have a Safe and Blessed Week !
Great job Sam! It’s amazing how a couple days of dirt rolling off the dozer blade can transform that property. You make it look simple. Truly inspirational. Wonderful message! Wish I had the room for one more dog. 🙏🏻
You did a great job cutting that road in... i think those cats are the perfect size machine for this type of job. Thanks for sharing the message with all of us viewers it is always a blessing to hear... i have been so busy i cant keep up with my subscriptions... thats why im 8 days late😂. Thanks for sharing👍🙏🔥
I really loved this video. The under carriage video, the new additions and the message. I've watched it 4 times now. Have you ever ate a Hickory Nut cake? It's really good. But picking the nuts are a pain.
Ok Sam, I’m jealous, I’m his family and I only received one sweater and Grant shipped you all that stuff lol, geeze, I’m going to have to have a talk with him lol. This is really kind of you Sam! Great video and nice work 😊
Nice work. Love watching the dozer cut and push. Question; have you ever done a video showing/explaining the engineering aspect of a road, grades, slopes, crown, drainage etc? For example how you decide how to handle runoff from a higher slope. What you do to keep trash from washing down. Does all the overburden pushed down just stay there? Are your roads subject to county inspection, are there industry standards you have to maintain. I’ve heard you touch a little on it, but only briefly. I.e. Your last big road had some washout repairs you had to address. Thanks for sharing. Not expecting an answer here, just thought it might be a good subject to go into on a video. On a side note, I never hear you belittle or trash talk other people. I like that about your channel.
Thanks and I really enjoy watching dozers work too! 😀 I try to touch on those things you mentioned as I go through the road builds but could probably be a little more detailed on some of it. There are no inspections for private roads/ driveways except for where it meets a county or state road. The biggest deciding factor on a road/driveway is the budget. Some folks want the bare minimum and other want a really well built road. The challenges are different on each new road too. That is why I like them so well, it’s never the same thing. It’s cool that you noticed that I don’t run folks down in the video because I don’t enjoy that when other folks are doing it. Thanks, Sam
Great job Sam as usual 😊 Check an access plate on the right track. Seemed loose where you had the gopro mounted. Maybe it's supposed to be. 😆 God bless brother 🙏
I know the camera hides the elevation, so just the fact that we can kind of see it, shows how significant it actually is. Good work, good video and good message!
Sam. Road is really looking good. I’ve found that a dozer will push a downed big tree out of a hole easier and faster than an excavator can roll it out. I think you showed that today also. Following gods will is always the way.
You're doing a good job, Sam. You might want to get your track adjustment cover bolted back down soon. It'll fill up with dirt and destroy your seals, besides making it a rough day to tighten the track. Plus, you missed a bolt on your belly pan. You are definitely getting much better on making a road and much quicker than the last one. It's great to see some red clay in the road. Hopefully, you had a great 4th of July as well.
Thanks Charles! I noticed the same thing in the video while I was editing it. I was wondering when that belly pan bolt fell out! And also the adjustment covers were moving around a good bit. I definitely enjoy the road builds and learning more each time… Thanks
Another great video Sam!! Quick question-after the construction phase is done, does the customer have you come back and do a final grade, cleanup the banks/edges, and lay and pack the stone in for a finished driveway?
Shawn that changes with each job. It really all depends on the budget the property owner is working with. Some just want access and others would like a completely finished project. Thanks
Ah, the good old " make me an access road through the foliage edition 😂" And that you have done.... now just a small matter of actually building an acceptable road base !!! No problem to you and your Cats, yoh will soon haveit whipped into shape !!! 💪💪💪 And more four legged family members...... oh my !!😵🤣 Spent the past two weeks rebuilding our garden wall, been an interesting challenge.... it curves, changes height, and was 100' long..... not a bad job for the missus and I to tackle while I had two weeks off work 💪💪💪 Had plenty of people admire our work, offers of work locally, and two job offers !!! I would take them up on their offers, but my back said " no way" 😮😂😂😂
Thanks Alex, love these road jobs when you can’t even see where you are going! Makes things more interesting! 😳🤣 Sounds like the wall turned out pretty nice. If you have some pics send them to my email, would like to see how it turned out. tristardiggin@gmail.com
Thanks Justin I appreciate that! 😀If I’m using any of the fill side as part of the driving area I pack it in lifts starting with the first lift. This one will be all cut for the driving area. I will slope off at the cut line so people don’t drive on it.
Man, that is some loose or sandy looking topsoil you scraped off with the root mat. I'm surprised you haven't hit rock yet ( I hope I don't jinx you). Looks like it's turning out great, though. I can't wait to see the conclusion. More important than road building, I had to tell you about one of my retired fireman buddies. He does lawn care/maintenance and has a 96 y/o customer. He said for about 3 months, the Lord has been burdening him about this lady. He couldn't figure out why, so this past week when he was finished with her yard, he took a few minutes to sit and talk with her. It turns out that the Lord has been burdening her too, and she was asking my friend about his upbeat attitude and why he's always joyful. He told her about his past life and how God had changed his life. She started crying and told him that she wanted that too. He got his Bible out of his truck and showed her how she could be saved. She's going to be baptized this coming Sunday. God made a way and is still working in this old world. I thought it went along with your message pretty well. Thanks for sharing Sam.
It sure is dusty around here for sure! Wow, what a story! I love hearing testimony like that. 96 years old and realizing she needed that peace and assurance. God bless that feller for being obedient and God used it to change her life! AMEN…😀
@@tristardiggin I’ve got a vid with some of that in it on the D4H but it’s so jumbled up I can’t seem to put the video together. GoPro put vids all over the place instead of in order. It’s been doing that a lot lately. Very tough to get things sorted out.
