Jay, I love the second camera and you got some absolute bangers in this box no matter what anyone else would say. If you're happy with the picks, that's what counts. VGM treating you amazing in 2024. I think it'll be a theme. PS -That serenade in the middle of the video, we're here for it!
On the way back from our cruise now so I can find out how my first box of the new year lines up. Great box and love the updates to their box and cards. I need to finally pickup a Retron 5 this year to play these older classics. Almost wish they sold them as well to save me from my procrastination lol. You nailed it, these games contain our memories inside along with the chips and screws for most of us. Some of them still hold that fun value 35 years later. Happy New Year!
For me the SNES version of Aladdin is the best. This is due to one feature, the sound. I just can't get behind the sound chip in the Genesis when it's playing songs I know from the real world. Love the two cameras in this video!
Nothing wrong with that in the slightest! I always hope that it's implied when I say something as an absolute - but that's 100% only my opinion and only valid for _me._ I would hope that me saying something would never take away someone else's love of a game just because I have a difference of opinion on it. Thank you so much for watching!
Great video, Jay! I actually beat Aladdin for the first time on the PS4 version that came out. If not the for the rewind feature, that never would’ve happened. Even with it, I found it SOOOO frustrating, haha! In general, though, I’m *dreadful* at games, so I’m sure it was a “me” problem. Anyway, awesome video. Love the two-camera setup. Opens up a lot of possibilities, I’m sure.
@@SquarePegs It wasn't bad but I'm glad to hear you are looking to improve. I liked it but I would maybe try elevating the second camera a bit. Also, maybe reducing the angle it is away from you? Like, bring it in closer to your main camera like you are talking to 2 people in front of you rather than one in front and one on the side (if that makes sense?). I don't do video anymore ( I used to some for work) so what do I know. This is nitpicky but I really want to help you if I can at all as I enjoy the content.
It was 100% a test bed run for this video to see if I even liked having the second perspective (I do!), to see if other people like having the second perspective (they do!), and to see if the cell phone I was using for it would be sufficiently usable (it REALLY isn't!). ;) It'll probably be the camera I use for the time being until I can afford a better one, but the angles and positioning are all in flux. I'll definitely try it a bit more to camera right and see if that works out - I liked having it to the side, but it was wildly unnatural to turn my entire body. Plus - not using my lav mic and it sounded like butt when I would. Your idea solves both issues I had in the immediacy. :) And, truly, I appreciate the feedback. I'm an amateur who just happened to get lucky to have the audience I do, and I can only hope to improve via feedback. I appreciate you, Kyle! :)
Top quality box there brother. I personally prefer Aladdin on the SNES but as you mentioned the Genesis version is still a amazing platformer. Great box dude
Got my fourth box yesterday. Monetary value wasn't great, but the game quality was really good. Ice Hockey (NES), Dr. Mario (NES), WWF Raw (GB), Triple Play Gold (Gen), and Tetris (NES).
Some nice stuff, I still have Solstice, love the intro song, it's almost 3 minutes....... So where in Michigan are you? I'm in the U.P. (Central Western), somewhat close to Marquette, I was just wondering upper or lower actually. Have a good one!
Firstly, hand over you "Scottish Card" for forgetting Auld Lang Syne 😂 Solstice would have sold like hot cakes in Scotland, isometric puzzle platform games were a staple for us 😊 I loved Warlock, well I did when I was 16, I'll rewatch just in case 😉
Fun vid, Jay. Warlock was a theater release starring the late Julian Sands & Richard E. Grant. There were two major theater releases. The first film (1989) was decent and the second was… so so. It descended into “straight to vhs” obscurity afterward. Unfortunately, the game was loosely tethered to the movies. I will have to get that NES Dodgeball game since you recommended it so highly. 😀
I've only seen the first Warlock movie, but I actually enjoyed it pretty well. I have the SNES version of the game out of curiosity, and it's okay, not great. Looks nicer than that Genesis version, anyway.
@@bananonymouslastname5693 it’s interesting how different versions of games on different consoles back then were similar but decidedly different. I’ll check out the SNES version! Thanks.
@@GAMECLOSET The games seem to be basically the same as far as stage design goes; I just like the graphics better on SNES. It's not a horrid game by any stretch, but it's no classic.
I remember playing Dodgeball but I don't remember where I got it from. For sports games, for some reason I really enjoyed Super Spike V Ball. It was way more fun once I figured out how to do the super spike and super block. I was never able to figure out how to play Solstice. I think I rented it as a kid.
Nice intro for Aladdin. Is there a fence? Not really anything in this box for me. If I had to pick though Super Dodge ball and then Aladdin. SDB can be a lot of fun tossing the ball around and smacking people. lol
Nope! I'm actually currently from Michigan, after living in Florida, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. I just happen to like Seattle a whole bunch (you'll see a lot more Red Sox and Bruins representation in my hat choices). My wife and I spent our 20th anniversary out there and I fell in love with the area.
new sub here. Great video. If I didn't already have like 400+ games I'd get this service. but I enjoy your video still. gives me an idea of some games to look for when i go game hunting
Sega Genesis IS the best consul it was my first and is an OG to me. Lot of my friends never had one so I was cool in having the weirder consul haha. Not sure why that was really.
Best thing about this video.. you’re a mariners fan. Me too! Depressing. I know. At least I’m hoping you’re not a BILLS fan cause it’s like punching yourself in the nuts over and over with the same results.
These are fun and I like living vicariously through you as I'm not the type of collector who would subscribe although it definitely seems like a lot of fun. My pick is Aladdin and yes, I am one of those that prefers the SNES version over the Genesis version. I recently got both on the Switch as they are included in the Disney Classic Game Collection and enjoy them both. Take care! 🟩
Hope you have a great Friday and weekend dude. Also thanks for the compliments at the beginning of your video
Wow very good box this month, this was a good month for me as well
Awesome! What'd you get?
Good Haul!! Aladdin would for sure be in my top 20!!!

Very nice box this month! Great NES titles for sure. Super Dodge Ball is a gem! Great game and even better unboxing Jay! 🤙🏼

I just realized that Altered Space on the Gameboy is by the same developer as Solstice and is essentially the exact same game. Neat.
Aladdin snes is my favorite one.

Fun video. I like the blind review and your thoughts on each game!
Thanks, Colby! These are really fun videos to do because there's always _something_ for me to try that I've never played before. :)
Man that’s a great box! I added Genesis back to my box NES/SNES/N64 group so hoping I get something fun.
Awesome box this month!!!! Super Dodgeball was one of my favorite NES games and one I would rent over and over again back in the day!!!!
Warlock is based on the second movie in the series
Good to know!

A little jealous of Aladdin. I love the SNES and Sega Disney games. Pretty good box.
Duuude!! Super dodge ball has always been one of our go to on the nes..Great Box!!!
WHAT A BOX!!!! My unboxing was pretty awesome too... but Super Dodge Ball FOR THE WIN!

Sweet box this month Jay! All titles are good and worth playing. I'll have to pick up a copy of Super Dodge Ball next time I see it lol

Glad to have you, fellow elder!

lol, I'll accept Fence +1, Physical Barrier +1, and fortification +1.
Just noticed your Cardinal Copia, didn’t know you were a Ghost fan! Sweet!
ahh finally someone with a gameroom like mine full and kinda messy butt awesome
We believe in creative clutter in this house. :)

Great question! You can subscribe at 3, 4, 5, or 10 games.

Warlock is the coolest one

I had warlock on SNES and I always thought it was an underrated game.
There's definitely some good ideas here. It's the locomotion and controls that did it in for me.
