Like your video. I am not familiar with EVAP. You have taught me on it by, first present the problem, the got into the EVAP mechanism, then did a methodical approach, first gas tank, then checked the valve. Very easy to follow. By the way, you are a good and lucky Daddy with three adorable children. God bless you.
Great !!!!! i had engine code in my vw tiguan 2015, my wife did not close the fuel tank cap properly and that was the reason for having the error code. Was easy fix. thanks

I've been doing the same thing to my Nissan every 3 to 5 months. I just clean it, erase the code and I'm good to go for another couple of months without any codes.

So did it stay off ? These Ecu run test and this code can take up to a week and an series of drive cycle test to pop back up

Well done. Saved yourself some money there for sure. A plastic welding kit from Harbor Freight will fix that crack in plastic engine cover.

I have the same issue, first it was the brake booster hose I changed it and my car runs great but now the light came back after the gas cap light turns on.

@JimBobBek yes, many codes are made to be set in 2 drive cycles unless they are serious and they will set immediately :)
I got a 08 hyndaui elantra and it had a 0441 code. So i replaced this whole valve in your video. But now 3 days later i got a 0455 code. Gas cap seems fine. Im not sure what could be wrong now.

Can you explain why dirt would effect the leak?
Does the dirt prevent the solenoid from closing completely?
Would just canned air work? I would like to clean mine this weekend but don’t know if i should just use air or use chemicals
