I have always been amazed at how these Tachibana band members can play their instruments perfectly, dance gracefully and move at the same time. I couldn't do that now or when I was in high school. I fear I have the same coordination as Usagi Tsukino. You're fantastic and superb Tachibana. You deserve a Gold Olympic Medal with all that you can do.
It's so nice to appreciate the individuality that makes up this band. Such a contrast with marching bands from so many other high schools across the world: militarised to the extent of sometimes twirling mock rifles; wearing headgear designed to hide faces; uniformed to a featureless norm. Where women must look like men except when displayed as pompom-bearing Barbie dolls. With KT we have the opposite of such dehumanisation. Femininity is prized; faces are revealed. Not just an extraordinarily high level of musicianship and precision but smiles, enjoyment, enthusiasm (thanks percussion!) explode out to us. Thus we see not the potential transfers to some Marine Corps parade ground, but instead a happy, inspiring, living work of art. Thanks for the upload.

What is interesting is what the schools then do with the tradition. It is interesting because of the message given about how the school operates, its values, the kind of education it instils, the effect on the students and on the wider community. So many schools, through their marching band, choose to emphasise the aggressive side of the tradition and dehumanise the individual through their uniforms. KT (and a rare few others) do the opposite. Which is why (and of course because they are so good) I like them.

I'm sure the polite applause at the end was a 'cultural' response but boy, i would have stood and cheered. That was a knock-out performance. Made me want to get up and move and had me smiling all the way through. Top class, top talent, most impressive.

Nos idos das décadas de 70 e 80, iniciei na música em SP(BR)... e executávamos algumas coreografias tb... Mas NADA comparado ao que essa garotada faz hj em dia. GRATAS lembranças... Saudades.
The audio is always so much better when the band are all in one place as opposed to the many videos of them walking/dancing/playing in long moving lines through parks/malls etc! Love Sing Sing Sing, esp the trumpet parts...;-))

Does anyone know the nickname of the girl between Chippi and Comare at the beginning? She's one of my favorites but I don't know her nickname. She played quad drums during Rose Parade 2018.
Yeah, I remember her in the Rose Parade. My favorites are the second cymbalist from the center (She seems to have a nice personality) and the rightmost bass drum player (very cute !!) in the traveling direction when they march.

改めてやけど、楽器演奏するのマスターするのも大変なのに、みんなと同じ動きするって本当に凄い。他にも強豪マーチングバンド高校あるのに、オレンジの悪魔の人気は別格。もちろん実力も！
アスリート並みの体力、ダンサー並みのダンス、軍隊並みの規律ある動き、そして卓越した演奏力。この若き超人たちを見ていると、日本の未来も明るくなりそうな気がします。

この角度はちっぴの暴れっぷりが、まる解りで嬉しい限りですね。いつもの迫力満点のSingを観る事が出来ます。ほんとに世界中からの称賛のコメントが、誇らしく感じられる吹奏楽部ですね。私はまだ生の京都橘を観た事がないんですが、もし観れるなら少々のチケットの値段は無視してでも、良い席で観たいですね。絶対に興奮して涙が止まらないと思います。いくら完璧なPerformanceであっても、ふと見せる高校生らしさに心を持って行かれますからね。このギャップこそが京都橘高校吹奏楽部の真の姿だと思います。マジにたまらんですね。(笑)

勿論、演奏は完璧であり椅子に腰かけて演奏してると言っても信用するレベル。
どれだけ、練習を積み重ね研鑽してきたと言うのだろうか。
