I played in marching bands a lot. But these kids have entered the marching band stratosphere, and not only because of their obvious talent, hard work and dedication. The cleverness of their routines, their dance skills, the mastery of their instruments, and the devotion to their director was simply out of this world.

Kudos to all of them, but as a former baritone/euphonium horn player in a marching band, MASSIVE respect to those band members. It's hard enough to march while playing one of those (they get heavy fast and they aren't strapped to you, it's all on your arms). It's another level of difficulty to try to play one of them while doing dance moves.

Yes. I agree with that. I have over one year of deployment time in Japan ( including Okinawa ). As good as these young people are for Japan it's not uncommon.
You need to put this performance in the proper perspective, according to the date, this was one of the last performances of the year, meaning that the freshman, junior and senior members all had practiced and performed together for a whole year. In January about 1/3 of the members, all the seniors, will leave the band and a new freshman class will join, starting the cycle over again. This means that performances in the beginning part of the year are normally not as smooth as later in the year. But we must understand that these kids are 14 to 18 years old, NOT professional performers, and deserve a lot of respect for the commitments they make to their club. My hat off to all of them!!

I won't repeat what others have said here about all the ways this is astonising. I will just add that, as a kid, I loved drummer Gene Krupa. Ironic as hell that a great high school (!) band from Japan does the best job I ever heard of channeling a great American music legend.

先輩方のSingx3に橘入学前から憧れ今度は自身が演奏、ダンス、ステップをマスターし同じく憧れたオレンジのユニフォームを着て多くの観客の前で演奏披露できるとなったらテンションMAXになりますよね。入部後初めてSingx3を練習した時、初めてオレンジのユニフォームの袖に腕を通した時、嬉しかったでしょうね。（コロナで活動開始が遅れた現２年生は特に）実際他のどんな曲を演奏している時よりも皆さん最高の笑顔で楽しそうでキラキラ輝いて見えます。部員さん達にとってSingx３を奏でる事は憧れであり誇りでもあると同時に喜びなんでしょうね。素敵な橘の伝統のひとつだと思います。

2018年Rose bowl を観て憧れて橘に入部した部員が、予定されてた海外遠征もないまま卒業していく。失意の中ちゃんとスキルは保っていることに感動しました。自分たちは満たされなかったけど後輩には伝統を守って欲しいの気概が伝わりました。ありがとう。

変更するきっかけは、2012年ローズパレード出場の内諾を受けてからではないでしょうか。
2022年7月15日中日スポーツで
「TOHO MARCHING BAND」は、東邦学園公式バンドとして結成されたマーチングバンド。
2024年には、世界最高峰のマーチングイベントとされる米国の「ローズパレード2024」
にアジア・オセアニア地区代表として出場することが決まっている。
とあるので
全日本マーチングコンテスト：2007年銀賞、2008年金賞、2009年金賞、※2010年は三出制度で参加できずの結果ですから、2010年夏には内示があったと思われる。元顧問の田中先生の話でローズパレード主催者側から『前例がないのでスカートの長さが問題になった』とお話しされたことがあった記憶があります。このころ現在の色に変更したのではないでしょうか。
話しの顛末は、主催者側に「京都橘のマーチング」をビデオによるプレゼンをしたら、スカートは問題にならず、非常に高評価を頂いたそうです。（オーディションはビデオで行います）

今年有參加2022中華民國國慶！2022/10/08在台北預演，剛好遇到下雨天，無意發現到有一個高中團隊，來自日本東京，下兩沒有帶任何的樂器，但是他們的動作跟現在的動作一模一樣，今日看到這個視頻，才想到噢！原來是這一個團隊來到台灣台北。
