Hello Duane! The marking you see on this mister's forehead is a Tilaka, or Tilak. wich represents the mark of surrendering unto lord Sri Vishnu (Krishna). the bottom part on nose represents his Lotus feet. It is Applied daily as a ritual to remember your Goal. Just like a firefighter or police man wears their suit per example. In Fact the Tilak is supposed to be also Applied on other parts of the body in the morning, such as on the chest, the right and left arm and also on the spine (back).
