    I've been drawing all my life, but my drawings never got past the line art and base colors because I could never get the hang of painting and blending. But this tutorial was VERY helpful, now I have a better understanding of how to practice these techniques and hopefully apply them in the future. Thank you!

    You mention the Flo Brush - I don’t see that as a brush in Procreate - is there a different name? Thanks for this great tutorial. Very well done and easy to follow.

      That’s what sucks must about procreate there’s really few brushes you gotta make your own or buy them from others which sucks big time, it’s way easier with ibis paint

      @@jonafave8167 idk what u r talking about 1. procreate already has A LOT of already installed brushes, there's over 200 brushes that they give u for free! 2. at least u can make brushes in procreate, u can't do that in ibis paint!

    Thank you so much! =^o^= I'm still learning how to use Procreate, and can't find any good blending tutorials out there yet! I never thought to lower the opacity for the blending brush, definitely will give that a try!

    Thanks for unique ways to achieve blending. I appreciated being shown three good brushes to use. ( FYI stucco = STUCK oh. It's that rough plaster put on the outside of a house.) It's hard to tell that your English is probably your second language.
    I previously watched your Paint Bucket video and used the Gaussian Blur to soften shading on a sphere and it became the best I've ever done. I also realized that you had made the basis of a gradient brush and suddenly I felt I knew a lot more about making custom brushes. You demonstrate different methods very well.

    Hey, I don’t know what version of Procreate you are using, but I don’t find the brushes that you recommend in “Artistic”, ( gouache) I found that brush in Painting. It would be interesting to know what our differences are! And “Bonobo” I could not find at all in any of the brush categories! And the “Stucco” I found in the Painting category as well!

      Procreate has undergone a few major updates since this video was released, so that may be why. OP also said in a comment that she's Dutch so that could also have something to do with it! Maybe language/translation settings?

    Can you please do a video on where to put highlights and shadows? That would help me a lot! Sorry if you already have, and I just haven’t seen it, but I struggle with shadows and highlights, and you’re really great at teaching this kind of thing, so just a suggestion for you.

    Hey thanks for posting this video, I was looking for a nice blending tutorial for procreate. Thanks for going over how you do the diagonal strokes left to right and right to left then sometimes circular and then straight up and down. I’m going to start implementing that while I’m blending. Also thanks for the tips on using smudge tool vs using lower opacity brushes.

    I selected a colour layer and when I try to smudge two colours it picks up white, I don't know from where, but I can't get a nice blend like that, any help?

    I do a lot of anime/semi-realistic portraits but all I do is use the airbrush tool and gaussian blur everything. It looks super nice, but I HAVE to use bold outlines on top. I want to learn a more painterly style. Blending is just weird for me on procreate cause I'm not used to it.

    Is the gouache brush a standard procreate brush? I don’t see it in my program along with some of the others shown. I have procreate on my iPad Pro. This is a lovely tutorial btw.

    I don’t have a iPad Pro but I do have a iPad and iPad pen 😩 blending still isn’t too easy for me sadly

      Keep practicing, it becomes a bit easier every time. I do recommend that you pay attention to how much you’re blending; as not all colors need to look seamlessly connected to each other. Take your time to blend because if you rush, you’ll probably make a bigger mistake.

    What about with a brush? So you don’t blend the picture but you only blend what you have drawn on top? Please could you do a tutorial on that please?

    Even when i use the selection tool, the blending tool takes colors from portions of the picture that are not selected and tries to use them for blending.. it's a real pain, anyone know how to help?

    Dear Flo, your lessons have been a real treasure for me. and although English is not my native language, you share your knowledge so easily and simply that I easily understand you. but it saddens me that I can't buy your brushes and additional lessons. My family is from Ukraine, but now we live in Russia, and because of the sanctions, I am not able to pay on patrion, my cards do not pass. I really hope for the world to come soon and for the opportunity to learn even more about digital painting with the help of your lessons. In the meantime, I will continue to take free lessons on TH-cam and will share the results on Instagram and mark you in my drawings, hoping that you will mark them on your channel.       if you want some good blending then you should try a normal brush as a blending tool and not the smudge tool :)

      @@TheChameleon2008 When it comes to Photoshop, that surely is the case. But Procreate's smudge tool is doing a really nice job (which I totally didn't expect when starting out with Procreate after using normal brushes in Photoshop for 10 year ;))

      @@ArtwithFlo yea for sure! But i have found some pretty amazing blend brushes that create more crisp blends rather then normal smudge/blur tool. No doubt that procreate 5 will do a even better job :) im soooo hyped!

    When you say set to pen pressure.. is that just slightly less then fulll opacity on the scale?
