The Royal Family are the biggest help we have, a lot of us wouldn't be here without their hardwork, projects, programs and charities and in the Senior Royals, case by their own hands, in their own time and in private. Our King and Queen were rumbled giving out food parcels and money a few weeks ago, which is not a good thing, their faith is to give quietly without vainglory. The best example I can use to show the difference is this. We had a high-ranking politician who prides himself repeatedly as "a good Catholic and Christian" He publicly humiliated Princess Anne for feeding our starving children saying it was "putting our country in a bad light" Pope Francis was quick to let him know he wasn't a Catholic nor a Christian. Made my day.
I suppose the late Queen didn't explain to Andrew that his housing situation might change once she's gone. The king has offered him Frogmore, which is in the windsor estate, meaning Andrew has security. So it's not like Andrew is homeless. Andrew just can't swallow that it's a downgrade. Well, tough. Frogmore Cottage isn't exactly a hillside shack. It's a good sized property (Andrew doesn't need much space these days) and has been recently renovated by the Harkles before they left. I think one of Andrew's daughters has also used it more recently. It's a perfect downsize and would be cheaper for him to run if he's still expected to pay his own way (as he should be). Downsizing your home because it's too big and too expensive for you is what us plebs do all the time. Almost every retiree and boomer I've ever known has done that at some point, as they may have less retirement income and their kids are all up and gone.
