Sar Syed Ahmad Khan when he was seeking donations for Aligarh Muslim University ask for a modest donation from Nizam get the donation given by Nizam surprised everyone. He financed many persons to study abroad including Sarojini Naidu.

He commissioned hunderds of industries, dozens of colleges, hospitals, many dams and railway that was at par with British railways.
Hyderabad state was the most developed part of undivided India that time having its own self sufficient administration including currency, postal system, police, bureaucracy etc.
Of course he was living a very simple life and that he was his own choice.
