  • I call this video the a Fresh Start. I tell my clients that suffers from stress plucking to make their self aware of it because, yes, clients are unaware of nervous ticks until it gets out of hand. There is no product or quick fix in the world that can fix it. We just have to become aware and take the necessary steps healing the habit Watch as I shake her hair back and get her back healthy.

    I love it when you silk press natural hair because many people swear their hair is long and healthy. She definitely needed a haircut. It looks soooooooo much better. Please don't go around say she cut all my hair off when you could clearly see she had some breakage.

    GIRL!! I am almost speechless! When I seen her hair I said what in the world is she gonna do to that?! Just being honest cuz I'm looking at videos trying to find hope for my child's hair cuz she wants a relaxer but I don't want to put a chemical in her hair so I'm looking around to see results on 4c hair being done without a relaxer and when I seen this video I was outdone. Now it's not the first time I've seen it done but her hair was so damaged and you turned it into a masterpiece! Her hair is beautiful and so is she. 😊
    I'm so glad you were able to put a smile on her face but um I need you to bring your talent to my house and straighten this child's hair out! Put a smile on MY FACE as well as my baby lol!! I'm praying I find someone as talented as yourself - great job!

      Thankyou so much, that means a lot 🥰❤️. I mainly do the conditioning cocktail before I put them under the steamer. I updated my conditioners to the Moroccanoil intense hydration, they I sometimes use the light weight one too, sometimes the design essentials almond avocado conditioning mask, I really love that cream of nature charcoal mask(and it makes the clients scalp feel amazing too), their shampoo and conditioner is very moisturizing as well.
      Most of all make sure that the client is drinking enough water as well because I always tell my clients that their hair is like a plant.

    • @KrissypooHairView
      @KrissypooHairView  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it’s an internal issue, none of that will make a difference. As stated in the video, you have get your mental under control before proceeding to take external help. That’s just like getting weight loss surgery and you still haven’t fixed the inner issue and still end up gaining weight

    • @thecure3982
      @thecure3982 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KrissypooHairView that's true but they can give her something to help with infection, and also medical anti inflammatory care to save what can be saved while dealing with the mental issue. Scarring alopecia can be mediated and stopped with good derm care. www.docs4hair.com and the black derm directory are good places for professional resources you can give to clients. I would like to see her get vitamin panel tests as well. Magnesium and vitamin d deficiency can make anxiety worse.

    • @KrissypooHairView
      @KrissypooHairView  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @The Cure Any time clients come, as a licensed Cosmetologist, I analyze the scalp to check for any irregularities. She didn’t show signs of scarring, her hair wasn’t inflamed to be checked for infections. Sometimes we try to put so many things to treat something that is internal. Once the internal is checked and other signs show, of course, the necessary measures will be taken. But sometimes you can’t just throw everything on the issue. Sometimes you have to disect and take it at each step.

      Check out my description box on the products used. Also check out my technique in the video multiple times as I show the process. You can also look at other videos too. Make sure that the hair is completely dry before straightening, have a smooth blow out before straightening. Also make sure that the tools you’re using are great as well. I hope this helps😊

    My 16 year old does it due to AP classes and Spanish class stressing her out. Ugh poor babies.

      That’s tuff ❤️, I know for my teenage client, I would make deals with her. Like she wants to get her hair colored so I told her that she has to show improvement and we’ll do the color. She’s doing a lot better. I know too, by making her aware of it and showing her how severe it was kind of woke her up a little as well. I even had to show her mom because by her doing it in the back her mom wasn’t noticing. Also with my neck pluckers I warn them as well that if they keep plucking that I’ll have to pull out to clippers and lower the neck to where that can’t pluck. Clipping it( basically an undercut) really helps as well

    I actually stress pluck but I’m soooo self conscious it’s usually just my underarm hair.

    What exactly is stress plucking?

    • @KrissypooHairView
      @KrissypooHairView  3 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      Very similar to a nail biter. When a person is stressed they tend to scratch or pull at their hairs. It can be a soothing method to some but the hair is actually being harmed. Some don’t notice this habit because it can come across as an illusion of soothing when in actuality it’s not.

      Is it similar to trichotillomania?

      @@KrissypooHairView I would pull at my hair but not out of stress, just out of boredom. An ruined my crown area. It would just feel so good!!! Lol I no longer do it an grew my back healthy now.

      It’s similar but it can get to that point if the person hasn’t dealt with it. From the clients that I’ve come across, it’s similar to a nail bitter’s nervous tick.

    Her hair is luster!💛 However, I think there's too many passes here. I think there's a 0°and you lost in the trim, which made it difficult to get the areas of keeping it even. The cute was a great style.🙂

    Just seeing this video,when i saw her neck i said her neck look like mines,didn't really think on whether or not anybody else did this,i started picking and plucking the lil hairs from the end of my hair/neck when my brother died in 2016,when i noticed the black spots i really didn't realize i was doing it,then a while later i was looking at it saying this is so ugly stop doing it,asked myself when did you start doing it because never had done it before then it came to me,when my brother died is when i started,i know that was long but i needed to say it outside of my head.😔

    I have no clue why you went over her hair with multiple passes, when you knew she was having an issue with her hair. sad
