There are alot of Hmong people living in America. The state of Minnesota holds the highest population of Hmong people next to California. I'm also hmong myself. Seeing this walk through breaks my heart that living conditions are still this way. Maybe in time it will get better. I currently have a friend teaching english at the University of Laos. I can't wait to make my visit to Laos. Thank you again for what your do.

well you want them to shop at Tesco, have cars, big houses with AC, becoming acultured and obese like Americans? That's how they have lived for thousands of years, I see nothing wrong with that, as long they have some basic education and healthcare... and as long the CIA isn't recruiting them to fight ugly wars for them. Just let them be. Why always wanting things for them, most of the time these things turned out to be a disaster.

@@Bhaisthenruas respect for illegal CIA secret wars paid by heroin smuggling (killing thousands of thousands), destabilizing peaceful countries for some sick chess game of influence in Asia? No, no respect at all I'm afraid. You know these mercenaries they torched villages, killed other people too, right, do you have any respect for their life? I don't blame the poor guys who thought it was their best interest, I blame enablers, bootlickers like you though.

Happiness has nothing to do with just money or materialistic. These villagers maybe poor but they are rich in human kindness and very humble. The richer people get and the smarter they become, we start seeing cockiness, putting others down and many idiots. The list goes on and on. When we visited these villages those villagers shared their meal with us like we were their family which you don't see in the U.S or in a big country. Cop will be called if you knocked on someone's door here in the U.S or in Europe but in Laos it is the other way around. The point is these villagers are living a very peaceful life and very humble that's why we visited them.

Thank for this video. It's very humbling to see how Hmong folks in Laos live. It's been over 4 years since I've been to Laos, but over 20 years since I've visited a Hmong village. Thank you for sharing!

I'm a new subscriber so catching up on your videos. Great job on capturing the simple life of the Hmong people. I think they enjoy life better than most of us. Looking forward to your older and future documentaries.
