So they probably made a separate deal for this, or it was part of the original deal that in Japan (maybe other places) they need to drive a Honda.

Its tough finding a comfortable rental car in Japan. I rented three different cars on my last trip and they were all insufferable. The pedals and the steering wheel are almost even with each other on all the cars. So if you scoot the seat back so your legs are comfortable you can not reach the steering wheel anymore. And if you scoot the seat forward to reach the steering wheel, your legs are wrapped around your ears. But the most frustrating feature of the cars is the windshield wiper and turn signal stalks are switched. why???
for the stalks - that's the standard way. Indicators on the right, wipers on the left. But because LHD markets use it the other way around (along with the steering wheel, obviously), it became cheaper for them to export RHD models with LHD stalks to Britain. And eventually that became the norm in the UK (and I'm assuming Australian market cars too) . Some old British cars such as Rovers, and old Japanese cars (sold in the UK market) had the stalks the right way around, but eventually they switched
Suzuka to Honda is pretty much what Fiorano meant to Ferrari, except Fiorano has no theme park like Suzuka and Hamamatsu (where Honda start his business and where he is born) is nowhere near Suzuka
Interesting that the Red Bull drivers didn't drive Fords, and that none of the drivers of Honda powered cars drove an NSX... Also interesting that the Alpine drivers didn't drive a car of one of the coalition partners, Mitsubishi or Nissan...
Honda probably has a special deal with Red Bull in Japan, also the NSX is discontinued, no point in marketing that car anymore. The NSX that Yuki occasionally drives is his own.
