Probably would if the ad breaks didn't pop up 4 times in the first 10 minutes.

Sugar is more profitable than drugs now because of same addiction & no age limit.

I don’t even know what to say, This is awful.
At the very least they can do is build better homes to live in. Give people a real salary and medical. Giving working people a real salary they can buy their own food.

This documentry breaks my heart😢 I dont usually eat sweets but now I never will😮 Slavery is evil and or wicked. It still going on today????? Unbelievable, almost but I never knew about this. Thing is what can be done about it? And by who????? Very inhumane.

You would think Cuban owned sugar cane mogul would understand! The hitrocity of the Everglades being destroyed.! No care of the environmental dysfunction of the glades!

ThereIs no incentive to change for the better. It's more economical to indenture poor people than to mechanize/automate the industry. Canada could still maximize sugar maple sugar production and grow cane sugar indoors under LED lights year around . With out educatiing/retraining workers unemployment and poverty will increase.

I stopped back in to say....
This film is available elsewhere without ad breaks every 2 minutes.
    But by all means...
if you like 4 ad breaks in the first 10 minutes, then enjoy.
    It's informative.
    Anywhoooo...
just popped back in here after viewing it elsewhere to give a headsup.

You can get TH-cam premium (or whatever it’s called) for like $10-20 per
month which eliminates ALL ads. I highly recommend it. :)

    Is this factual?

Yes, it is widely documented in historical books. It is highly suppressed because the USA Government & Canadian Government gave Sugar Subsidies to the Fanjul Family. Under the Bush Senior Administration and the Clinton Adminstration. The Clintons to this day stil have a condo at the Casa De Campo in the DR. Mind you this is a boat ride away from the former "Epstein Island". To this day the USA still only buys Processed Sugar from these "Sugar Barons" who also live in Palm Beach Florida and are HUGE donors to the Bush and Clinton Family. It is all documented. You just have to look for it. Journalists today would never be allowed to publish this. This is from the early 2000's. It is very corrupt and very sad. And keep in mind prostitution is STILL LEGAL in the Dominican at the age of "18"....

It is well researched and credibly presented, based on fact. However, I think what you're asking is, "is it the truth"? That question is impossible to determine in any sort of history (unless you are a direct, first-hand witness to the history itself). Rather, like all history, this is a "perspective" (and it is a compelling and very interesting one, and well worth watching). Only by gathering a number of perspectives can you hope to come to any sort of approximation of what the "truth" is in any complex historical inquiry such as this one. There is no "one" video or source that will provide it. My own view - this perspective is more jarring and eye-opening than others, and I am inclined to give a greater weight to it on that basis. If you want to see an excellent example of this, skip to 41:22 min and listen, and then make up your own mind.

It's not hard to believe at all!!! If you question it you just don't wanna hear the truth

@@fronzelneekburm9075 I mean, your telling us to take the word of a "sugar baron". 27:21 would be a better part to watch. You can see the conditions yourself. Fuck Pepe Fanjul.

The United States is no better than anywhere else. Historically, it has been one of the cruelest nations and it doesn't deserve to exist. I know nobody alive now is responsible for what happened then but why shouldn't the nation reap the evil, pain and destruction it has inflicted? There isn't a good reason. People today justify the rape, torture and murder of innocent people then. They should suffer a similar fate.
