this boss was a nightmare. Played with a friend and we had to fight him 3 times because the game crashed everytime we somehow managed to kill him. Terrible experience but i liked the boss anyway 😂 we were literally shaking the whole time we fought him because we were scared to lose everything again

Agreed! It's a big step up, but I actually like that difficulty spike. Was kinda similar in Nioh 2. Yuan Shu is the ultimate test, how well you know the game and such. He's powerful, but with enough perseverance, beatable.

The hardest boss to perfect in Wo Long - Demonized Yuan Shu. He wields all elements and has many tricky moves at his disposal. Amazing explanation as the combat goes! I had my butt kicked a lot when i first encountered in dlc3 dragon king but it was partly i play too aggressive. But isee the benefit of being a little patient here. Great vid👍

How are you doing that much damage? I can't arsed doing NG+ (have other games to play) but i do want to beat this guy. I generally get to the second phase just fine but since i can't damage him hard enough i just die eventually. Any recommendations?
Yes - check out my build videos. It's important to set specific perks, if you wanna increase your damage output. Glaive, as a weapon, hits hard, but is slow, in comparison to other weapons. Allocate points into your main (Earth in my case) virtue and get strong accessories to gain even more power. Best of luck!

You got the patience of saint. I didn't see you use any wizardy or health just sacred lotus. This guy was a pain in the ass to beat the first time, the second time I just died. My armor is the Evil instigate set. Im using Wood and metal as my main stats.

I don't mind spamming magic either at this point, but nothing I've tried worked, including imposing slab which worked for a lot of other fights. I know you did your fight without magic but do you know if certain spells work well? I'm only on my first run through game and each DLC. Most guides I've found players are like NG+++ and have magic and armor I can't even get.
Sure thing and thanks for watching it! Yeah, I have 2 "build" video guides in my playlist - they should help. Be sure to equip yourself with the faster dash perk (leg armor), as it really makes a difference in this fight. Newer spells can block his magical attacks (Earth spells to block his Ice projectiles), but the older ones will work too, just be aware he has much magic resistance. I'd recommend Perfect Restoral - it'll let you tank any hit. Lion's Roar to gain 30% damage resistance. Defensive spells and buffs are preferred, not the offensive ones. Go heavy armor, but keep an A in Agility. Sacred Lotus shines in this fight - you'll be resistant to every element and remove any accumulation. Other than that, keep distance in the second phase and focus on deflecting his fast Critical Blow. Do it a few times and he'll lose his Spirit. 2-3 Fatal Strikes will seal the deal. Fingers crossed!
I appreciate the breakdown! I was on this guy for a long time, more than I would care to admit😂 even took a break from it for a few days, but my problem was very much always being too close. I will give this technique a try
May be i wrong but dis all dlc of Wo Long feels just unfair. Bosses attacks non stop with crazy speed and combos. Then jump away and hit you with magic arrow with double damage through all damn arena. And game even dont allow you upgrade your weapon and armor, bcs all gear in game have same stats of damage and armor.
DLC is definitely a big step up in terms of difficulty, you're not wrong. Bosses are much harder in comparison to those in the base game. Stuff can be upgraded, one just needs some time to get everything (farming materials). I believe that key is to keep pushing and focus on deflects.
My light attack deals like 650 damage and that's at full Spirit (damage is increased). As for my level, I believe I was around 500, maybe a bit lower. Perks matter more, btw, if you wanna hit harder, especially those premium ones.

Even tai chi didn’t do this to me 😂 The first phase I could do perfectly every time it was just the second that always got me because I didn’t understand it. Still took me a few tries but I think like 6 or 7 and I got it. I think his moveset is fine just his health pool might be a bit out of line. I’ve only beat this game twice tho so I don’t know everything. Great video thank you again!

Thanks for the video, I'm just looking to beat the boss. I have like 7-8 hours of attempts so far. I keep getting gimped by the icicle attack he does in phase 1, or the spinning fire blade in phase 2. I'm going to be doing more attempts later with what I learned here.
My pleasure. For that Icicle attack, you have to wait a bit and start deflecting - in rapid succession. You can outrun it in the second phase (at long distance), just not in the first phase. Spinning blade you can block fully. Sure thing and I wish you luck!
How do you get the dash speed increase embed? I don't see it in my list at the blacksmith - is it one of the limited quantity jewels? Great guides, by the way - the amount of sheer skill you show in these videos boggles the mind.

I just went to the blacksmith and was able to set it up, premium or not (leg armor). It's one of the best perks, so be sure to equip it! Really makes a difference. @suzu3945 When your Ki is high (gotta build it with successful, multiple deflects first), use Glaive, equip specific perks and know when to hit - such a powerful boss as Yuan Shu - you'll deal solid & safe damage ^0^

@@abdel1143 Wood is the very best virtue, in my humble opinion. Focus on that and Earth - full (or nearly full) heavy armor and A in Agility, most possible defense and frames. Highest agility is crucial, as it makes dodging and deflecting easier. For more details, check out my build videos. The first (older) one should help. Best of luck!
He has more HP in coop (same as other bosses in Wo Long), so it's understandable. Keep trying and you'll beat him, eventually. Focus on those Critical Blows, Shock debuff and heavy Spirit attacks. Best of luck!

Difficulty spikes in second and third DLC are ridiculous.. You breeze through everything and suddenly get your ass kicked for an hour or more😅

What stats would you embed in the armor set you find ? My armor is 15% in weight. Wood, metal and 10 points in fire is my build.

Thanks for the video, I'm just looking to beat the boss. I have like 7-8 hours of attempts so far. I keep getting gimped by the icicle attack he does in phase 1, or the spinning fire blade in phase 2. I'm going to be doing more attempts later with what I learned here.
My pleasure. For that Icicle attack, you have to wait a bit and start deflecting - in rapid succession. You can outrun it in the second phase (at long distance), just not in the first phase. Spinning blade you can block fully.

How do you get the dash speed increase embed? I don't see it in my list at the blacksmith - is it one of the limited quantity jewels?

As for the dash speed, nope. I just went to the blacksmith and was able to set it up, premium or not (leg armor). It's one of the best perks, so be sure to equip it! Really makes a difference. Pity they added it so late (third DLC).

Congrats on beating Wo Long! It's one of the harder games, for sure. Yes, you need to buy the third DLC, in order to fight him 😊
Fxcking hate this boss and its nonstop spam. Feels like the only feasible damage window is getting behind him as he's tossing his lightning blades.

@suzu3945 When your Ki is high (gotta build it with successful, multiple deflects first), use Glaive, equip specific perks and know when to hit - such a powerful boss as Yuan Shu - you'll deal solid & safe damage ^0^

@@abdel1143 Wood is the very best virtue, in my humble opinion. Focus on that and Earth - full (or nearly full) heavy armor and A in Agility, most possible defense and frames. Highest agility is crucial, as it makes dodging and deflecting easier.

Me and my friend are having a really hard time defeating this guy. We cant seem to do enough damage to him.
He has more HP in coop (same as other bosses in Wo Long), so it's understandable.
Keep trying and you'll beat him, eventually.
Focus on those Critical Blows, Shock debuff and heavy Spirit attacks. Best of luck!
