I still eventually read them, when I'm bored and have them laying around, but sometimes I end up coming across another book I just happen to find more intriguing than those on my shelf and guess what, I buy more books lmaooooo. Being a book lover goes hand in hand with loving to read AND buy books. I think it's generous that Jack wants to give some for charity, I could never. Even if I hated the books, that's because I decided to build my own little library when I build my own home in the future, which I feel like lots of book lovers also want
i unhaul books all the time, it’s honestly a skill i had to learn. i look at a book and i determine 1. do i love you? yes keep, no move to step 2 2. is your cover so beautiful that you can just waste my shelf space ? and i know it’s an awful feeling to have bought a 30-40$ new book from a nice bookstore and not really like it, and then give it away. my personal goal is to slowly build a library of books i love so it’s a worthy sacrifice

There are some things that hurt ones soul. The loss of a loved one, failing a test you prepared for, watching a really sad movie/play, and being a book nerd that has to let go of some books.

That reminds me of when I moved out of my flat, when I moved in I had like, maybe a hundred books, I have now over two thousand... It was an adventure.
A Suitable Boy is so, so much more than the series, and it’s amply worth the time 😍 I first read it many years ago, and the world is really part of me. Do make time for it! oh and Kitchen is also one that lives rent-free in my mind, I legit thought about it just this afternoon, I’ve lost my copy and I was thinking I need to repurchase!

The 39 Steps is some of the most undramatic writing I've ever encountered. If you haven't yet read that one, Jack, you're likely to be disappointed. I certainly was.
IM SO ANNYOYED for We Are All Completely Besides Oursleves, the twist wasnt a big shock for me - about 5 years before i read it my mum was reading it and must have told me about the twist. i didnt have any recollection of it until i read the twist and i was like 'ah... that makes a lot of sence and is odly familiar'
