I went vegan for lent so it's been fun to do vegan baking (which is something I always looked down on before) and realise that it is possible to make vegan cakes and biscuits that are just as delicious as the traditional versions!
I made banana bread muffins with chocolate chips and they were to die for! I just used a banana bread recipe and put them in a muffin tray instead & added chocolate chips 😍
i slowly started slipping into my old habits (depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc). & then i suggested to myself to shower in the mornings & it’s really helped edit: *idk why i told you that but yeaaah, somethin for you to read* 🤪
We call those coffee pots “moka pots”. We use it everyday in Italy, very common here. Also, rice is so easy! Bring 2 C. of water to a boil with 1 t. salt, 1 t. garlic, and 1 t. olive oil. Then add 1 C. of rice and turn heat to low. Let it cook for about 35 (ish) minutes (WITHOUT STIRRING) and you have yourself a perfect pot of rice.
but making rice is so easy...? i don't understand the problem. you literally just double the amount of water that you have rice and simmer it until its all absorbed
Paige It just comes out differently when you make it in the rice cooker. It’s super fluffy and soft and makes it consistently the same every time! It just saves time and energy ☺️
I am struggling with it like everyone else! I’m also trying to be mindful of emotionally dumping on others and so using a diary has helped me. As well as LOTS of cups of tea and crumpets x
Could you do a video about your sister living in Copenhagen and what you do to stay in touch? My sister moved to Spain last month and I miss her so much!
RICE COOKING TIPS: so my mom taught me this, after you wash/rinse the rice for 4-6 times (yes you have to do this) then when you pour in the water you need for cooking, put your hand in there like this 🖐🏼 and the water should come up to the middle of your fingers, then it should be good! (AND also don't open the pot, when it starts to boil and water/steam is coming out of the pot, turn the heat off and let it sit there, then in 10 mins your rice would be cooked!! 🌼)
Hey Kristin! I wanted to reach out and express my gratitude to you. You are such a radiant being, you emanate positivity and kindness. I try to be particular about the content I choose to consume and all of the content you provide makes me feel genuinely happy and inspired. Thank you♡♡♡
I’ve been getting up at the same time every morning, enjoying water before my coffee ☕️ eating breakfast 🥞 sitting in our beautiful sunny ☀️ sunroom and walking our dog every day to keep some kind of a routine to feel human. Also, listening to a Joyce Meyers sermon helps too:) I’m laid off, but so THANKFUL my hubby is still working!
I’ve been wowing the family with all recipes from Kristin’s Kitchen! Your content is such a light during these times! Love you and on this day last year, I became a subscriber!!❤️
i’ve been eating oatmeal nonstop! i love it so much especially when lots of peanut butter and bananas are added to it! it’s been my weakness throughout this quarantine!
Love these!🤩 I’m from Hawaii (huge rice eaters lol) and a general rule that I was taught when cooking rice is to use 1 and 1/2 cups (of water) more than the amount of cups of rice you used.. (2 cups of rice, 3.5 cups of water) I hope that makes sense😂🤦🏽♀️ But whatever works for you is fine as well❤️❤️
I used to have so much trouble cooking rice but I found the best method that works for me so I thought I’d share! So I use white jasmine rice, and for every cup of rice I use 1 cup + a 1/4 cup of water. I start by rinsing the rice in a strainer until the water runs clear and I shake it so most of the water drips out. Then I put water in my tea kettle and bring it to a boil. While the water boils I add the rice to a little bit of sunflower oil in a pot (like a teaspoon) and toast it for a minute or two. Stirring and watching (just until it’s fragrant!) I then measure out the boiled water and add it to the pot with the rice, add a pinch of salt, and stir. I let it come to a simmer and turn the heat down to low, and cover it with a lid. I like to stir it once of twice during the cooking. I cook it for 15-20 minutes and then take it off the heat and let it steam for 5 or so more minutes Fluff it with a fork and enjoy!!
First off I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!! Secondly, content from you that I would die for is a cooking book!! During the quarantine maybe like “record” the meals and desserts for like couples?? I am only 16 so I’m not cooking yet, but I know when I’m newly married I would love that. I feel like you would do an amazing job with this!!
Ok, so my wife sent me on here to help you. Idk how many of these you read but I’ll give you an insight on how to make a moka pot really good. So first, let’s start with the beans. Local roasters near you (places like verve, blue bottle, Cat N Cloud or even more micro places such as Dune coffee roasters, Arcade Coffee Roasters (where I work!!!!), mad lab coffee roasters, etc) will be the best quality beans. If you like creamier coffees usually south and Central Americans are great but if you like brighter, sweet, and acidic coffees, Africans may be for you! Then the grinder. A good grinder will make the biggest difference, so I’d recommend the Baratza Encore. It’s the best in the business for home brewing, but also Fellow Products have a really awesome Burr grinder that’ll be better! It’s not out yet but preorder is up! I would recommend that one cause it also looks really nice in the home. At the end of the day look for the title “Burr Grinder” and most of those will be better than any blade or other grinder. Those two should be the best in my opinion! Lastly, brewing is a ratio of water interaction with ground coffee. So, a scale is the next best step for being precise! It’s not necessary, nevertheless, it’ll give you the best coffee. Moka pots are amazing brewing methods and very under appreciated! I brew pour over most days but every morning make a moka pot for my wife. Look up James Hoffman Moka Pot tutorial and he makes the greatest how to video on this method. Lastly, have fun. Coffee is a blast and a rewarding hobby so enjoy! Hope this helps you or any of your subscribers!✌🏻
Kristin!! I have a life changing tip for cooking bacon. Put some foil on a baking sheet and cook it in the oven! It’s super easy and keeps the house from smelling like bacon for hours. You don’t even have to preheat the oven. Just set the oven to 400°, put it in, and keep an eye on it until it’s done. 🙌
Kristin you look amazing!!! I loved this video and how laid back it was! Honestly, I would enjoy just about any type of video you posted. Your personality is so calming and uplifting!! During this quarantine I’ve made chocolate babka and cardamom buns!! Thank you for being a light for so many people 💛
definetly agree no one is going through this the wrong way or the right way! just one day at a time. i lost my job but just trying to think of the positives. hope you guys are doing well! this video is so so fun and cute love it! also totally agree with the feeling productive one day and feeling so lazy the next ahahaha. ✨🌸💛
We need more Kristin's Kitchen episodes PLEEAAASSEE! Those are some of my favourites, and right now having more time at home, I have the motivation and time to try baking some new things!
Can't tell you guys how much I look forward to your videos especially this quarantine 🥺 I've been enjoying spring with your old lemonade and hot chocolate recipes. Thank youuu 💜💜💜
Go Kris!! I love your videos and how frequently you have been uploading! It’s so uplifting for me and encouraging to know that everyone is feeling similarly through this time.
Kristen!!! You are the best. I’ve been watching Your videos for a few years now I just love it, I’ve always made some “vlogs” for myself since I was little, you made me have the courage to start my TH-cam channel. Thank you so much for being an amazing roll model and so sweet.
You're so sweet Kristin! I'm graduating from college next month and can't have my commencement anymore - it's hard to balance feeling sad about my situation but thankful that it's not as worse as it can be, so I agree, giving yourself grace is so important right now! Thanks
I have been loving your videos right now, they are definitely inspiring me to be more positive and make the most of things right now ❤️ I have been stuck apart from my boyfriend during isolation, got laid off from work, and won't be having a graduation ceremony for college. So it's all very weird for me right now. Thank you for your positivity !
my mom is an extern at the hospital so she has been going to work. She is also supposed to graduate this year for her nursing degree, and she is really sad about not having a graduation. She has been dreaming of this for years and it’s sad that it won’t happen. But I know God will protect us through this craziness! Stay strong everyone :)
I'm from a tropical country and our main staple is rice. The way we make it is we measure the amount we would need for a meal, rinse it well , put it into a microwaveable dish and fill water upto the first line of your middle finger and microwave it for 15 mins and then you fluff it with a fork and tadaaaaa you have rice ! Hope this helps ! Xx
Kristin !! your videos are what have been keeping me going during this quarantine : ) as a fellow plant lover id love to see an updated plant video soon !! - how you take care of them and how many more you've gotten since the last video you posted. thank you !! i love you, your videos, and how you shine light for Jesus in this dark time. lots of love : )
I love your videos Kristen!!! They’re full of encouragement and so interesting to watch :) I would really want to see your current workout video (at home) and some type of video related to Christianity, I would really want to see more content about your relationship with God :) Thank you so much❤️

What have been some of your favorite things to make/eat right now?! 😍

We tried your chocolate chip cookie recipe the other day and they didn't last long lol 😋 xx
i slowly started slipping into my old habits (depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc). & then i suggested to myself to shower in the mornings & it’s really helped
edit: *idk why i told you that but yeaaah, somethin for you to read* 🤪
Thank so much for the advice! Taking a shower in the morning puts me in a better state of mind as well :D
Try a light 15 minute exercise. It should also help! Good luck :)

Kristin you need a rice cooker!! (If you don’t have one, I couldn’t tell 100%) Easiest most convenient thing ever 😊
Claire Robles Yes! I have a rice cooker and it’s so simple and makes the best rice! ☺️🍚
but making rice is so easy...? i don't understand the problem. you literally just double the amount of water that you have rice and simmer it until its all absorbed

Cook your rice in your instant pot! 1 to 1 ratio for 6-7ish min! SOOO fast and easy! Also, need to make bang bang shrimp now! YUM!!
Bang bang shrimp tacos are AMAZING
I have the fruit and veggie soak too and make sure you rinse the berries with water after to get the soapy taste out! Love yah!
We’re looking at postponing our wedding reception because of all of this. We’ve decided we will still get married next month because that’s what we feel called to do but we definitely never pictured this to be our reality haha
Also here’s a rice tip if you refuse to buy a rice cooker like me - boil 2 cups of water, toss in one cup of washed rice, lower to a simmer, when the water is almost dissolved turn the heat off and cover the rice for 5ish minutes, uncover and let rest for another 2-3 minutes and perfect rice every time!
I also like adding chicken bouillon or a pinch of salt and it’s so good! I also hate plain rice which is why I add some salt or broth instead of water. I’m Mexican and plain rice is a crime lol
But the question is: is the dog hide and go seek a quarantine game or just a normal everyday Camper and Honey and Kristin game?? 😂
HAHAHA I want to know too! XD
YAY I miss these videos from you Kristin 😁🎉!
