    I don't have those options on my Toshiba Windows Vista Home Premium (that i can find). It only allows me to system restore, but no apparent options to factory reset to prepare for laptop donation. Is there another way? Thanks!

      If you have the original factory disks, those can restore the system as well

      Will it boot up? To the main desktop? I suggest disconnecting every thing from the tower. All the cables so its cable free, then reconnect everything....make sure everything is plugged in all the way to make connection

    Once you've got this far, how do you install windows 10 on a separate harddrive in the same computer?

    • @559powerscape
      @559powerscape  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would have to Install a second Harddrive to the motherboard and set the jumper settings to slave and the first one primary, then you have to partition the second Harddrive and install the operating system to the second Drive. This is a difficult process but can be done to have dual boot systems. I had it done to one of my windows Xp machines but its been years and would have to be behind the screen trying to figure it out. Look up online for dual boot partition. I found one online hope this helps

      Thanks it helped me very much. Can I ask, if you had 1 computer, and you wanted vista and windows 10 on it and you had 2 2tb drives, how would you set that up? Both operating system on different partitions of the same drive, or partition each drive to hold a operating system, and storage. I want to be able to game again, haven't gamed since steam discontinued support for vista, a little over a year now.

    hey can yu tell what else i can do when i press f8 i get a bleu screen with lot of numbers say chk dk error repair but nothing ever happens should i wait on it or restart it .. i have been restating it thus far ...

    • @559powerscape
      @559powerscape  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like your boot file might be corrupted or the operating system might be corrupted. If you can try to run the check disk, that might fix this problem. Striking f8 before windows loads up should give you options on how to load the operating system with minimal programs loaded that you can run safe mode and try to repair any corrupted system file

    • @559powerscape

      From personal experience sometimes the operating system has to be installed multiple times in order for it to work properly, why I don't know why. Its just technology, its going to have its flaws.

    • @559powerscape

      Lol it won't blow up. When it's in the process of starting up press f8 to see if it brings up the options for troubleshooting. If it doesn't, does it show any available options when the first screen appears when you turn it on? Should give you like a f12 or f11 or f2 option

Some times I struggle with any version of windows. Sometimes its a piece of cake everything just flows, sometimes you come across bridges and thats were troubleshooting comes into play. Sorry.

      Best thing to do is put all your pictures, music and documents on to USB flash drive stick. Just stick it on the computer, locate the files you want to save and drop them into the Flash drive. That way you have all your files backed up and when you format just drop them back into the computer.
